In the old GOP, the VP slot was given to a person willing to play 'the hatchet man' - that is the person who would attack the other side and float ideas with questionable support from the voters. This insulated the main candidate from the calls of mudslinging and dirty politics.
Trump doesn't need someone to fill that role. So, Vivek will be a slight mention in the history books for 2024 and no more.
What he means is that he is way up in the polls and if everyone votes like the polls say, he won't need additional votes,
