The United States has been a refuge for those who have fled once democratic regimes that were taken over by these movements.

The user can now add items, and then checkout.

Now control is passed by OCI standard via official web standards to the caller via callback URL, which is the intranet site.

On modern browsers you don't get the previously set cookies anymore, that were set by the intranet site itself. You simply don't get them. They exist, but they are not passed, which is a violation.

You can open a new session and you get the cookies, but not when a internet site forwarded you to that intranet site.

And now of course no session is detected, and it goes back to a login, and therefore OCI data is also lost.

Mood-stabilizing psychiatric medication

Certain lithium compounds, also known as lithium salts, are used as psychiatric medication, primarily for bipolar disorder and for major depressive disorder. In lower doses, other salts such as lithium citrate are known as nutritional lithium and have occasionally been used to treat ADHD. Lithium is taken orally.

Common side effects include increased urination, shakiness of the hands, and increased thirst. Serious side effects include hypothyroidism, diabetes insipidus, and lithium toxicity. Blood level monitoring is recommended to decrease the risk of potential toxicity. If levels become too high, diarrhea, vomiting, poor coordination, sleepiness, and ringing in the ears may occur. Lithium is teratogenic at high doses, especially during the first trimester of pregnancy. The use of lithium while breastfeeding is controversial; however, many international health authorities advise against it, and the long-term outcomes of perinatal lithium exposure have not been studied. The American Academy of Pediatrics lists lithium as contraindicated for pregnancy and lactation. The United States Food and Drug Administration categorizes lithium as having positive evidence of risk for pregnancy and possible hazardous risk for lactation.

Lithium salts are classified as mood stabilizers. Lithium's mechanism of action is not known.

In the nineteenth century, lithium was used in people who had gout, epilepsy, and cancer. Its use in the treatment of mental disorders began with Carl Lange in Denmark and William Alexander Hammond in New York City, who used lithium to treat mania from the 1870s onwards, based on now-discredited theories involving its effect on uric acid. Use of lithium for mental disorders was re-established (on a different theoretical basis) in 1948 by John Cade in Australia. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, and is available as a generic medication. In 2020, it was the 197th most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than 2 million prescriptions. It appears to be under-utilised in older people, though the reason for that is unclear.

The last change that nailed me was having "localhost" default to the ipv6 address (which broke my proxy server's connection to the Tor server). No, there are so called standard functions, that are meant to be called. They get specifically approved, you are meant to call them and they are static. Parameters will not change ever. Maybe new optional parameters may get added, but otherwise it will stay like that until the end of time.

Internally they may change something, but that never breaks anything, it's also properly tested.

It's actual business software, not hobby software. It's for critical infrastructure like oil platforms etc. you can't break shit on these and then go "oops"

It's set by the intranet service. The intranet service passes control to an internet service, and then gets control back. And when it gets control back, the cookie is not sent out to the web browser, which is quite obviously meant to be a security feature.

ROME — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently published a sharp letter excoriating the Vatican’s plans to renew an agreement with the Chinese government on Church operations in China. He promoted the article in a tweet, concluding, “The Vatican endangers its moral authority, should it renew the deal.”

An indignant Vatican took the article more as a calculated affront than a diplomatic gesture. The friction broke into the open on Wednesday as Mr. Pompeo arrived in Rome and met with prelates and others who are hostile to Pope Francis, while the Vatican denied him a meeting with the pontiff and rebuffed his efforts to derail the deal with China.

“Pompeo asked to meet” the pope, who turned him down because Francis had “clearly said that he does not receive political figures ahead of the elections,” Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who, as secretary of state, is the Vatican’s second-ranking official, told reporters.

But to some observers on both sides of the tensions between the Roman Catholic Church and the Trump administration, Mr. Pompeo’s visit is as much about the coming presidential election as about China policy. Mr. Pompeo dismissed that suggestion as absurd, but intended or not, his trip signals that President Trump is on the side of those conservative American Catholics who worry about the church’s direction under Francis and think he is soft on China.

Francis and Mr. Trump, who have exchanged sharp words in the past, present starkly different visions on issues ranging from the environment to immigration to the threat of populism. In appealing to the Vatican’s support for religious freedom as a reason to drop its China agreement, Mr. Pompeo seemed to seek common ground, but in a way that upset the pope’s chief allies and delighted his chief critics.

Cardinal Parolin said Mr. Pompeo’s article had caused “surprise” at the Vatican, because this visit to Rome by the secretary and the meetings with high officials at the Holy See had already been in the works and would have been a “more opportune” forum for airing grievances. He added that Mr. Pompeo’s choice to publish in First Things, a conservative Christian magazine that has called Francis a failure as Pope, also mattered.

Some who cheered as they watched Obama’s spymasters split the country with Russiagate came to their senses only after COVID-19 protocols took the life of a loved one. Some supported attacks on the Second Amendment or unrestricted immigration, until they saw mobs on the streets of major cities and on college campuses calling for genocide. It’s nearly impossible for most normal Americans to believe that what’s happening in America is really happening, which is how these things usually go. No one can believe it until it’s too late.

Information warfare campaigns designed by the U.S. government to target Americans with the aim of splitting them apart from their countrymen through weaponized falsehoods are rooted in new methods of shaping and controlling the online communities that many Americans trust to interpret the world around them. From Russiagate to COVID-19 to Jan. 6, the newness and force of these campaigns has knocked the country senseless, with the left readily acclimating itself to third-world norms, and large parts of the right increasingly hopeless.

What the right has learned from a decade of information warfare targeting it is to distrust the media. Knowing, for instance, that the Justice Department interfered in the 2016, 2020, and now the 2024 elections, what else is phony? Was 9/11 an inside job after all? What about the moon landing? What haven’t we been lied to about? Our families are real, our kids are real. But what else is there to hold on to? It’s like reaching for a life raft and finding only splinters. Maybe America is fake all the way down.

But it’s not, and the right can’t afford to let itself be fooled into despair with so much at stake. The same U.S. government agencies and officials that pushed everything from Russiagate to the Russia bounty story and lied about the origins of COVID-19, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the character of Jan. 6 protests are now warning that Israel’s war against Hamas is likely to drag U.S. forces into WWIII. It’s another information operation designed to disorient and demoralize the America First camp. This time, however, there’s a big difference—an influential segment of the right is amplifying the left’s campaign against them.

The left claims that America is a fraud at its origins, a racist hoax perpetrated against nonwhites to this very day. The left tears down monuments, desecrates our heroes, replaces our holidays, and rewrites our history to suit their pathological grievances. It’s a whole-of-party effort to force the middle class to our knees in despair, so that the country’s ruling class and the oligarchs can continue running their high-tech monopolies while defunding police forces and opening the borders to depress wages, impoverish communities, and terrorize families.

But now, the right is in danger of transitioning into the left. Maybe it shouldn’t be surprising that amid the ruins, some of those capitalizing on the chaos and preying on the shell-shocked are themselves from the right. A year ago, for example, right-wing influencer Jackson Hinkle sounded like a normal Trump voter. After Biden delivered his infamous Philadelphia speech accusing his political opponents of terrorism, Hinkle called him a dictator, and said he was plunging us into fascism at the behest of George Soros and Klaus Schwab while using the intelligence agencies to target freedom-loving Americans. Most of that is true.

Today, however, Hinkle’s Twitter feed looks like nothing more than a Soros-funded operation, pumping out reports every hour enticing clicks via the eternal threat that is antisemitism, and promoting actual America-hating terrorists in the process. Hinkle’s business model?“Subscribe to my X Premium for $3 to help me DEFEAT THE ZIONIST LIES.”

The whole point of OCI is to get data FROM an external source into your local web service.

For example let's say you have a shopping system on the intranet, which allows users to order items from your own warehouse, but you also allow people to order a few extra items from an external provider.

DISCUSSION…A cluster of storms from northeast AR into southwest KY has intensified somewhat over the last 1-2 hours. This convection is likely somewhat elevated, given its relatively fast motion to the northeast and the currently stable appearance boundary-layer clouds on visible satellite across the warm sector to the immediate south. However, MUCAPE of 500-1000 J/kg, relatively cold temperatures aloft, and favorable deep-layer shear could support an isolated short-term hail threat with the strongest elevated storms.

Gradual diurnal heating of an increasingly moist warm sector will continue to remove remaining MLCINH through the morning, with an increase in surface-based storm development expected by midday to early afternoon. MLCAPE of 1000-2000 J/kg (greater with southwest extent) and effective shear of 50-60 kt will support organized convection. The environment will support the development and sustenance of supercells, though deep-layer flow largely parallel to the approaching cold front may result in a complex storm mode, with both linear and embedded cellular elements.

There will be a tendency for stronger low-level flow to gradually weaken from the southwest with time, but low-level shear/SRH will remain sufficient to support a tornado threat with any sustained supercells later this afternoon. On Tuesday Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) began his inquiry into why The Gateway Pundit, one of the top conservative websites in the country today, is being censored on federal government computer systems.

“Congressional staff and members have been restricted from accessing The Gateway Pundit on the House network for weeks,” said Gaetz in a letter to the House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil, while asking what policy we violated, what other outlets are censored, and when this issue will be resolved.

On Thursday, sources from Capitol Hill informed The Gateway Pundit that attempts to access the website from the House network were unsuccessful.

A staff member from Congressman Paul Gosar’s (R-AZ) office detailed ongoing access problems for the past two weeks. “We Wanted to notify you that I have been unable to access the Gateway Pundit on the House network for the past two weeks,” according to the email.

TGP Washington DC reporter Jordan Conradson contacted Rep. Gosar’s Communications Director, Anthony Foti, who confirmed that some government-issued computers used by Gosar’s staff displayed the error code seen above upon visiting our site. According to the individual who sent the email, this also occurs on hisgovernment-issued laptop when connected to his home network. We further discovered that some staffers in Rep. Eli Crane’s (R-AZ) office and Rep. Andy Biggs’ (R-AZ) office faced similar issues accessing our website on government computers.

So the problem appears to be that the browser doesn't like redirecting to the intranet because the intranet is called "localhost" or is an IP address. Simple solution is to call it something else. Anything but "localhost" or "Sue" (kek). If the browser thinks it's an external domain then there shouldn't be an issue.

This may fail to work consistently if the intranet server is hardwired to the localhost domain. That shouldn't be the case. Dunno if there would be an issue with downgrading from HTTPS to HTTP. The only fix for that would be to upgrade the intranet to HTTPS or use a proxy server in between.

A Texas federal judge has ordered the FBI to disclose information on Seth Rich. Judge Amos Mazzant requested they turn over his personal laptop, work laptop, a DVD and a tape drive within 14 days.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is distancing him from efforts by allies and former aides to sketch out his plans for a possible second term, including who might fill his administration and what policies he might pursue.

In a memo Friday from senior advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, the campaign said messages about a potential Trump government that come from anyone but the Republican or his team should not be considered official and are “an unwelcomed distraction.”

It is the second such memo the campaign has released in the last four weeks dismissing news reports about how those in Trump’s orbit are preparing for a much more hard-right government stocked with loyalists. And it comes as Trump’s campaign has been increasingly pushing back against broader efforts to paint him and his second-term agenda as extreme.

Vance sent the letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a response to the Nov. 30 column written by a Post contributing editor Robert Kagan, which warns readers, “A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable,” and, “We should stop pretending.”

“Based on my review of public charging documents that the Department of Justice has filed in courts of law, I suspect that one orboth of you might characterize this article as an invitation to ‘insurrection,’ a manifestation of criminal ‘conspiracy,’ or an attempt to bring about civil war,” Vance’s letter said.

Kagan argued that former President Trump will be the Republican presidential nominee, and disapproving Republicans will fall in line.

“Votes are the currency of power in our system, and money follows, and by those measures, Trump is about to become far more powerful than he already is,” Kagan wrote.

Kagan argues that a second Trump presidency is likely, and the road to dictatorship is possible.

In an announcement, Vance argued that Kagan’s piece said another Trump presidency would justify succession, treason and political violence.

“According to Robert Kagan, the prospect of a second Donald Trump presidency is terrible enough to justify open rebellion against the United States, along with the political violence that would inevitably follow …” Vance’s announcement said.

Vance asked Garland and Blinken to respond to several questions by Jan. 6. He asked if the Department of Justice (DOJ) would open an investigation into Kagan and if the department agrees with the author that blue states like California and New York can “be free to flout the federal government.” Vance asked how the DOJ distinguishes between heated political rhetoric and evidence of a conspiracy and if Kagan’s words might intimidate voters in the next election.

The Hill has reached out to Vance for further comment on his letter. According to a spokesperson for the Post, the organization stands by Kagan’s “thoughtful essays.”

US Joins Over 60 Other Nations To Pledge Emissions Reduction From Air Conditioners And Refrigerators

U.S. climate envoy John Kerry made a pledge with over 60 other nations to slash emissions from refrigerators and air conditioners in a bid to tackle climate change.

On Tuesday, 63 nations, including the United States, joined a pledge to cut down cooling-related emissions at the COP28 United Nations climate summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Global Cooling Pledge requires countries to reduce such emissions by at least 68 percent by 2050 compared to 2022 levels. The focus of cooling-related emissions would be on appliances like air conditioners and refrigerators. The pledge also proposes setting up minimum energy performance standards for appliances by 2030.

“We want to lay out a pathway to reduce cooling-related emissions across all sectors but increase access to sustainable cooling,” said Mr. Kerry, who joined representatives from other countries in the pledge, Reuters reported.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) criticized the pledge in a Dec. 6 X post: “John Kerry lost his run for president & has been trying to assert his revenge on everyday Americans ever since. If he gets his way, our cars, our appliances, and food will be gone. All from a man who flies around on his wife's private jet.”

Mr. Kerry’s pledge comes as the Biden administration has proposed rules that could harm to the home appliance market. In July, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a rule to slash the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 40 percent by 2028, calling the chemical a “climate super-pollutant.”

HFCs are used as refrigerants in appliances like air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigerators. Since January last year, the import and production of HFCs require special allowances. During this time, the costs of replacing refrigerants have spiked.

In an August 2022 analysis, Ben Lieberman, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, noted, “Service technicians say that replacing refrigerant lost from a leak now costs upwards of $800, about double what it did a year ago.”

“Moreover, EPA’s HFC quotas tighten in the years ahead, so the ratchet will keep turning, surely causing homeowners’ bills to increase further still.”
