Sandy Edgerley graduated from Harvard University with an AB in Biology in 1984, cum laude general studies. She graduated from Harvard Business School with distinction, receiving her MBA in 1989. Ms. Edgerley worked at Bain & Company, a management consulting company, from 1984 to 1996 as an Associate Consultant, Consultant and Manager on the consulting staff, then as Director of Recruiting and Training. She left Bain & Company to raise her children and pursue philanthropic efforts that help children in the Boston community.

 

Ms. Edgerley has been actively involved in the education and social service nonprofit arena. She currently serves as the Board Chair of the Boston Foundation, a community foundation focusing on investing resources in impact areas including education, health, jobs, housing and the arts, in order to make greater Boston a place of opportunity for all. Ms. Edgerley chaired the Foundation's Centennial Gala as well as the Civic Leadership Fund. She previously served for five years as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Boston, (BCGB) which annually serves over 15,000 youth in the inner city of Boston and Chelsea. She continues to serve as a director of BGCB and spends a significant amount of time focused on this philanthropic effort, where she currently chairs the Strategic Planning Initiative as well as co-chairs the organization’s Comprehensive Campaign. Ms. Edgerley also serves on the National Board of Trustees of City Year, where she serves as a campaign co-chair. She is also a founding member of the Boston Board of Youth Villages. Ms. Edgerley is also a trustee for the Noble and Greenough School, where she was the Co-Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee and serves on the Executive Committee and as Co-Chair of the Comprehensive Campaign. In addition, she is a board member of Be The Change Inc., an Overseer Emeritus of the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, a member of the Massachusetts General Hospital President’s Council, as well as a member of the Senior Advisory Board of Horizons for Homeless Children. Ms. Edgerley has also been involved with the United Way of Massachusetts Bay as a board member from 2000 to 2012, and co-chaired the Alexis de Tocqueville Society from 1998 to 2012, helping to spearhead its growth from under 100 to over 600 members. She formerly served on the Executive Committee and chaired the Nominating and Governance Committee.

 

Ms. Edgerley has also been deeply involved with Harvard, currently serving along with her husband Paul Edgerley, as a co-chair of The Harvard University Campaign as well as a co-chair of the Harvard Campaign for the Faculty of the Arts and Sciences. Ms. Edgerley previously served as Co-Chair of the Harvard College Fund, served as Co-Chair of her 25th and 30th Reunions and, along with her co-chairs, received the Richard T. Flood ’27 Award for Reunion Performance in 2009. She has also served on the Harvard Business School Board of the Dean’s Advisors, and co-chaired her 20th and 25th HBS Reunions.

 

In 2012, Ms. Edgerley received The New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors’ Award for Leadership in Nonprofit Governance. Ms. Edgerley, along with Mr. Edgerley received the United Way of America’s National Tocqueville Award in 2011. She received an Honorary Doctorate from Newbury College in 2006.

 

Ms. Edgerley, her husband, and their four children live in Brookline, MA.

Paul Edgerley was a Managing Director at Bain Capital from 1990 until his retirement in January 2016 and he now serves as a Senior Advisor to the firm. At Bain, he co-led the private equity business, overseeing the firm’s expansion into Asia, and served as the co-head of the firm’s investment committee. Currently, Paul is Managing Director of VantEdge Partners, a private investment family office group focused on building partnership that grow excellent companies.

 

Throughout his career Paul has served on over 20 corporate boards including Director and Chairman of the Board of New York Stock Exchange listed Sensata Technologies, Hero MotoCorp, APEX Tool Group, TI Automotive, Steel Dynamics, HD Supply, Brenntag, MYOB, Sealy, FTE Automotive, Enjet, LVE, Bluemont Group, Boston Celtics, Kansas City Royals and AS Roma. In the nonprofit sector Paul is on the Board of Directors at Year Up, the Board of Massachusetts General Hospital, the Dean’s Advisory Board at Harvard Business School and is Commission Chair of Social Impact Partnerships to Pay for Results Act (SIPPRA), a federal government bi-partisan commission. Paul previously served as Co-Chair of the Harvard University Capital Campaign; Co-Chair of the Harvard Campaign for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Trust Board of Kansas State University, Children’s Hospital Trust Board, the Board of New Profit, Inc. and the US Board of The Right to Play.

 

Paul is a graduate of Kansas State University and Harvard Business School where he graduated with Distinction.

Sandy is Founder and President of real estate development firm Hexagon Properties focused on luxury residential and hospitality projects. Her signature blend of design and luxury services create stunning residences and home away from home experiences with a portfolio of properties in Aspen and Boston, including Haddon Hall, The Mother Lode and No. 284 Guest House. Her latest venture, The Quin, melds community building and design to create a unique and collective experience.

 

Sandy was previously a consultant and Director of Recruiting and Training at Bain & Company. She is a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Business School where she graduated with Distinction.
