Dover is a 'top out of sight' snob zoning town. It's one of those places that is off the radar of most people, and it's got the 'pretense' of being 'rural' but infact is highly populated.

but here's the thing: you could live far better in any of the towns near there, much closer to stores and community.

Plus it isn't even the 'top place', meaning that there are a lot of other much more prestigious addresses.

you can get a lot more bang-for-the buck just moving over the line into Natick or Dedham. So why would anyone want to live in Dover/Sherborn?

they are status oriented.

they grew up there or have family there and their family always lived there.

The Karen Read story is probably totally unrelated to the one with the mureder/suicide in top-out of sight snob zoning (you need four acres to even consider building) Dover
