For Service Members, Access to Mental Health Care Streamlined Under Brandon Act

Last year, the undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness signed policy implementing within the Defense Department and across the military services the requirements laid out under the Brandon Act. 

Within the DOD and military services, the Brandon Act allows service members to request a mental health evaluation just by making the request to their supervisor.

Readout of Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Meeting With "Five Eyes" Defense Policy Senior Officials

DOD spokesperson Lt. Col. Martin Meiners provided the following readout:

U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Jedidiah P. Royal; Australian Deputy Secretary of Defence Strategy, Policy, and Industry Hugh Jeffrey; Canadian Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy) Peter Hammerschmidt, United Kingdom Director for International Security Policy Nick Gurr; and New Zealand Ministry of Defence Deputy Secretary Policy & Planning Richard Schmidt convened a meeting of senior defense policy officials in Singapore today.

The senior officials exchanged views on strengthening regional security and upholding the rules-based international order, including the importance of air and maritime operational safety across the Indo-Pacific region. They also reaffirmed the importance of continuing to work together to enhance the collective resilience of the partners, as well as resilience across the broader Indo-Pacific region.

Freak waves cause damage at Army base, shut airports in remote islands

A video circulating from Roi-Namur, an island at the northern end of Kwajalein Atoll that houses some of the U.S. Army’s most sophisticated space tracking equipment as part of the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Test Site, shows a three-to-four-foot (approximately one meter) wave hitting the Army’s dining hall, breaking down doors, knocking people down and washing them from outside into the facility. A second follow-up wave, caught on video, was higher, possibly as high as five feet (one-and-a-half meters), washing through the dining hall.

Suspects Arrested In Texas For Oklahoma Radio Tower Destruction

Authorities in Paris, TX have arrested two suspects they believe are linked to the destruction of an Oklahoma radio tower. On Tuesday, the tower for K95.5 (KITX) was destroyed after a guy-wire was cut, collapsing the structure to gain its copper wiring.

KITX, licensed for 50,000 watts, serves southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas, including Paris.
