That was one of the very first observations made by doctors at the start of covid.

I don’t remember the exact explanation for why vents killed covid people with breathing problems, but there is a doctor on video explaining it all. It had more to do with how covid changed the mechanics of the lungs and putting more O2 in would not help, but hurt
