IKKI is delusional.

 

Back when party nominating conventions were more than a rubber stamp of the primary vote, it made sense for an unsuccessful primary candidate to keep running, go to the convention, and see if in the infamous 'smoke-filled-rooms' a deal could be made to move a second or third place candidate up in the floor vote, or to see if a Pres/VP deal could be made to unite the delegates of the opposing camps and secure the needed delegates.

 

Ikki Haley has no chance of making any deal with the Trump camp, so the only possible reasons for her to hang on all the way to the RNC convention is:

 

  1. They figure one of the pending court cases is going to send Trump to jail, so the RINOs will make a case that Trump can no longer be the 'lawful' and respected GOP candidate.

 

  1. Haley's funds are coming from Democrats, RINOs, and Globalists, so no matter the cost, they want Ikki to stir the pot, muddy the water, or whatever analogy you wish to invoke. They want to push the narrative that Trump cannot win because Trump cannot even unite his own party.

 

  1. She's delusional and just won't accept the reality of her situation.

If it were me, I'd name the next AG and give him/her the task of gutting the DOJ and FBI management, putting the line agents/staff directly accountable to the AG until a new and accountable middle management structure could be built. I would even rename the FBI to something else, just to make the point that this is a new day and the bad old days won't cut it anymore.
