Sotomayor overwhelmed by demanding SCOTUS workload: ‘I live in frustration’

Ryan King Jan. 30, 2024, 4:28 p.m.

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor vented about being “tired” from her demanding workload on the high court as well as her “frustration” with the conservative-dominated bench.

Speaking to a group of students at the University of California, Berkley School of Law, the 69-year-old jurist opened up about the vicissitudes of serving on the court while increasingly in the political crosshairs.

“Cases are bigger. They’re more demanding. The number of amici are greater, and you know that our emergency calendar is so much more active. I’m tired,” she said, per Bloomberg Law.

There used to be a time when we had a good chunk of the summer break. Not anymore. The emergency calendar is busy almost on a weekly basis.”

Sotomayor was elevated to the Supreme Court by President Barack Obama in 2009. She was the first woman of color and Latina to ascend to the highest court in the land.

One of the three justices appointed by Democrats to the nine-member panel, Sotomayor often finds herself in the minority on hot-button cases such as abortion, guns and affirmative action.

She alluded to those conservative victories during her discussion with UC Berkeley Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky.

“I live in frustration. Every loss truly traumatizes me in my stomach and in my heart,” Sotomayor admitted, per the report.

“But I have to get up the next morning and keep on fighting.” “To be almost 70 years old, this isn’t what I expected,” she said, Fox News reported.

“But it is still work that is all-consuming and I understand the impact the court has on people and on the country, and sometimes the world. And so it is what keeps me going.”

Recently, Sotomayor again found herself at odds with the decision to permit Alabama’s execution of Kenneth Eugene Smith via nitrogen gas.

“Having failed to kill Smith on its first attempt, Alabama has selected him as its ‘guinea pig’ to test a method of execution never attempted before,” she fumed in her dissent.

“The world is watching.”

In response to a question about collaborating with colleagues with whom she often differs, Sotomayor replied, “If you look for the good in people, you can deal with the bad more easily.”

“What choice do you have but to fight the good fight?” she said at another point.“You can’t throw up your hands and walk away. And that’s not a choice. That’s an abdication. That’s giving up.”

Some progressives have tried to nudge the liberal justice to contemplate stepping down, fearing a repeat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who stayed on during the Obama administration even when Democrats controlled the Senate. Ginsburg died in September 2020, giving President Donald Trump the opening to replace her with Justice Amy Coney Barrett, enlarging the conservative majority.

At 69, Sotomayor is the fourth-oldest member on the bench. Justice Clarence Thomas is both the oldest member at 75 and the longest-serving justice.

“Change never happens on its own. Change happens because people care about moving the arc of the universe towards justice,” Sotomayor said, per KTVU, referring to a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“It’s your turn now, to carry that burden.”

>>20334688 Narrative update: FBI director to warn Congress of dangers Chinese hackers pose to American infrastructure, innovation (PN)

As a reminder Trump issued 9 EOs on Critical Infrastructurestarting in 2017 to 2020. Why is Bidan Admin announcing they are worried about critical Infrastructure like its a new problem?

I question why with all the EO’s from 2017-2020 the FBI and DHS did not use all the tools & abilities of preventing hacking by China?

And why Joe had to publicly state that Xi promised not to hack the 2024 elections?

Why all the articles on the Gov, FBI and others are finally doing something about Critical Infrastructure and China hacking andthen this article Xi agrees not to hack 2024?

I think these articles and perplexing announcements that “China agreed to not to cheat in USA 2024” elections, does this mean that they know and Xi & China admits they interfered in 2020 elections? Bidan know how bad he’s losing in 2024 so this article is confirmation that he just got China’s agreement to cheat for him in 2024? I post the article next.

This is a mind fake for the gullible that Bidan is so honorable, he asks a World leader publicly to not do what they always do.

I’ll post the rest of EO’s in next post. Link below

Washington, D.C., October 22, 2020 - The Department of HomelandSecurity describes critical infrastructure as “the physical and cyber systems and assets that are so vital to the United States that their incapacity or destruction would have a debilitating impact on our physical or economic security or public health or safety.” While theTrump administration has seen the establishment of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency through legislation, the presidency ofDonald Trump has also been characterized by its high volume of executive orders, which offer key insight into the president’s consideration of both past and possibly future matters of policy. Between January 2017 and September 2020, President Trump signed 189 executive orders,of which nine pertained directly or indirectlyto the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure.

President Trump’s Executive Orders on Critical Infrastructure

Cyber Vault Project Published: Oct 22, 2020

Document 1

Executive Order 13799 of May 11, 2017 established the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity with the intention of studying the registration and voting processes used in federal elections to ensure the confidence of the American voter in the integrity of the electoral process. The Commission was tasked especially with studying mechanisms enabling fraudulent voter registrations or fraudulent voting. EO 13799 was revoked, and the Presidential Advisory Commission was terminated, by Executive Order 13820 of January 3, 2018.

Document 2

Executive Order 13800 ofMay 11, 2017was the first ofPresident Trump’s executive orders targeted at enhancing the security of federal networks and critical infrastructure. EO 13800 called upon components of the executive branch to address their cyber risk management framework and standardize these efforts in line with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity. Each federal agency is tasked with providing risk management reports to the Secretary of Homeland Security within 90 days of the signing of EO 13800. EO 13800 empowers the Secretary of Homeland Security to act as the nation’s key coordinator for all aspects of critical infrastructure security, including cybersecurity.

Document 3

Executive Order 13833 of May 15, 2018 sought to enhance the effectiveness of executive branch agency chief information officers by empowering agency CIOs to ensure that agency IT systems are secure, efficient, and effective. This goal was addressed both by increasing the scope of the authority of federal CIOs, and by updating and upgrading legacy federal IT infrastructure.

Think about this, Bindan and Blinken asking the leader and the top diplomat of China will they promise not to cheat in 2024, and then the Admin publishes in trash CNN. The whole thing is the typical farce and propaganda, there was no cheating in 2020, but just to make sure we’ll ask and get a “pinky promise” they won’t do it in 2024.

After reading the article the first of all the basic assumptions, is the only reason to ask them not to cheat in 2024, because they cheated like hell in 2020 for him to be elected. Bidan cannot literally say, “will you promises not to cheat in 2024, like you did in 2020?

The whole farce may infer that Biden, knows they all cheated along with EU countries in 2020. And Biden, Blinken and China are rubbing Trump’s face in the fact they stole 2020 and will do it again; meanwhile the gullible wil think Bidan is a great president.

Also:

• Wouldn’t those conversations be top secret, confidential and extra sensitive because China gets insulted and has a fit if they are accused of things they actually do? Wouldn’t releasing this violate heads of state communications and diplomatic relations? Let’s see if China responds negatively.

• Why announce a strictly embarrassing conversation with China, not once but twice? And then in addition the FBI releasing info that China id attacking our infrastructure in the US?

Xi promised Biden he wouldn’t interfere in 2024 election – CNNSenior US officials have reportedly pressed Beijing on alleged election meddling multiple times in recent months. US President Joe Biden asked his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, not to “interfere in the 2024 US presidential election” when the two met in November, CNN reported on Tuesday. Xi reportedly told Biden that Beijing would keep its hands off the vote. The exchange supposedly took place during high-profile discussions between the two leaders in California. An anonymous source told CNN that Biden was the one that raised the issue.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken asked Wang for the same assurance that Xi reportedly gave Biden in November, CNN claimed.Wang, like Xi, promised that China would not interfere in this year’s election.

The news outlet listed ***Natasha Bertrand as a contributor to Tuesday’s article. Bertrand played a key role in pushing false allegationsof Russian election interference after Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, and inboosting debunked claims by American spies that Russia fabricated damaging information on Biden’s son, Hunter, ahead of the 2020 election.

Executive Order 13920 of May 1, 2020 largely mirrors EO 13873 in its prohibition of acquiring, importing, transferring, or installing any bulk-power system electric equipment by any person or with respect to any property subject to the jurisdiction of the United States where the transaction involves any property in which any foreign country or national has any interest where the Secretary of Energy, in coordination with the heads of other executive branch agencies, has determined that the transaction poses a risk to the national security of the United States. The Secretary of Energy is empowered to direct the timing and cessation of any pending or future transactions. EO 13920 established the Task Force on Federal Energy Infrastructure Procurement Processes Related to National Security, which is to be chaired by the Secretary of Energy or the Secretary’s designee, with the purpose of broadly overseeing the intersection of national security and the procurement policies for energy infrastructure.

Russia and Ukraine conduct largest ever prisoner swap

A total of 195 Russian servicemen have returned home, the country’s defense ministry has said

Russia and Ukraine conducted a major prisoner exchange on Wednesday, with both Moscow and Kiev confirming the swap.

A total of195 Russian servicemenhave returned home from Ukrainian-controlled territory as a result of negotiations, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement, while195 POWs were handed over to Kiev.

The freed Russian troops, who were “under mortal danger” in captivity, will be flown to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation, the ministry said. They’re already receiving medical assistance and psychological support.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has also confirmed the swap, but provided a different figurein respect of the releasedUkrainian POWs. “Our boys are home. 207 guys,” he wrote on Telegram. (He is always trying to take credit and get a bigger win against Russia)

Zelensky thanked the Ukrainian negotiating team, which included military intelligence chief, Kirill Budanov, and the head of the president’s office, Andrey Yermak. He didn’t say how many Russian soldiers were released.

The prisoner exchange between the sides was to take place last week, but a Russian Il-76 transport aircraft with 65 Ukrainian POWs aboard went down in Russia’s Belgorod Region, which borders Ukraine, on Wednesday.

Moscow has accused Ukrainian forces of downing the aircraft with a surface-to-air missile, saying Kiev had been aware of the ill-fated flight’s route. Zelensky has refused to acknowledge that Kiev’s forces were responsible for bringing down the plane, and has called for an international investigation.

President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday that a Russian investigation had established with certainty that Kiev used a US-supplied Patriot surface-to-air missile system to down the Il-76 aircraft. He also said Moscow “insists” that an international probe mentioned by Zelensky is carried out and invited foreign experts to Russia.

The president suggested thatKiev may have targeted the plane with its own POWs in order “to provoke counter measures on our part.

Putin also stressed thatRussia won’t stop prisoner exchanges with Ukrainedespite recent developments.

Kremlin responds to reports Zelensky will fire top general

The ‘Kiev regime’ has a lot of problems, Dmitry Peskov believes

Reports that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is planning to fire the country’s top general Valery Zaluzhny are further proof that the country’s leadership is in disarray, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

Several Western and Ukrainian media outlets reported earlier this week that the Ukrainian leader had asked Zaluzhny to resign from his post and become the head of the country’s National Security and Defense Council – an offer he is said to have declined.

Kiev’s censorship body, the Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security (CSCIS),has dismissed these reports as “untrue.” However, the New York Times said on Tuesday that the dismissal process had simply been slowed down amid a flurry of media leaks. The absence of an obvious replacement for the veteran general was also a reason for the delay.

Zelensky and Zaluzhny fell out after the general wrote an article in November, describing the battlefield situation as a “stalemate” – an assessment rejected by the Ukrainian president. Zaluzhny’s comments came amid Kiev’s botched counteroffensive in which Ukraine suffered catastrophic casualties while failing to breach Russian defenses, according to Moscow.

Commenting on the speculation surrounding Zaluzhny, Peskov said on Wednesday that Moscow was closely following the developments. “There are still a lot of questions. But one thing is clear: the Kiev regime has a lot of problems, everything is going wrong out there.”

He added that Ukraine’sfailed counteroffensivehad led to“a growing rift among the Kiev regime’s officials, both in the top military and civilian leadership.” Peskov also predicted that these divisions would only deepen as Russia’s military campaign continued.

Russia Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also commented, suggesting that the situation around Zaluzhnyshows that Ukraine has plunged into “agony.” “This is the final collapse of the statehood, of the entire governance system,” she said.

US lawmaker faces resignation calls over comments on Africa

(Give her the Santos treatment)

Ilhan Omar has been accused of violating her oath of office because she claimed she would protect Somalia’s interests

Ilhan Omar, the first Somali-born member of the US Congress, is facing calls to step down from her position representing Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District forallegedly putting the African nation’s interests ahead of those of the US.

A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday by breakaway Somaliland deputy foreign minister Rhoda Elmi shows the Minnesota Democrat assuring Somalis that she would work to prevent a disputed sea-access deal with Ethiopia.

“The woman you sent to Congress is working day and night to protect your interest. She knows your plight and that of Somalia. I am as concerned about Somalia as you guys are.Together, we will protect the interests of Somalia,” Omar told her audience, according to the footage’s translation.

Critics, including House Republicans, accuse Omar of being loyal to her country of origin rather than the US, with House Majority Whip Tom Emmer calling her remarks “appalling.”

“Ilhan Omar’s… Somalia-first comments are a slap in the faceto the Minnesotans she was elected to serve anda direct violation of her oath of office. She should resign in disgrace,”the Republican Minnesota legislator wrote on X on Monday.

Somaliland’s deputy foreign minister also condemned the Democrat lawmaker’s comments as unacceptable and unworthy of both her office and the people she represents.

“Specifically troubling were her endeavors to revive the once-violent and dangerous ideologyof Greater Somalia, orSomali Weyn, whichcaused so much death, destruction, and conflictin the Horn of Africa,” Ambassador Elmi said in the text accompanying the video she posted on Sunday. (Omar’s Father was head military that killed and caused a lot of deaths, they whole family fled and pretended they were just immigrants fleeing a war zone. Remember her brother that she married.)

In response, Omar claims that the subtitles on the video of her Saturday address to Somali-American constituents were incorrect.

“It’s not only slanted but completely off, but I wouldn’t expect more from these propagandists… No nation-state can survive if its states start to get involved in land lease negotiations with other countries without the consent of the federal government,” she posted on X on Monday.

“Somalis in Somalia and in the diaspora are united in that effort and I stand in solidarity with them. No amount of harassment and lies will ever change that,” she added.

Tensions have escalated in the Horn of Africa since the beginning of the year, when Somaliland agreed to lease coastland to Ethiopia for 50 years to grant the landlocked East African neighbor access to the Red Sea for commercial purposes and also build a marine force base.

Somalia, which still considers Somaliland its territorydespite the split state declaring independence in 1991, has labelled the agreement “illegal” and a threat to its sovereignty. Mogadishu has secured the support of the 22-nation Arab League in calling on Addis Ababa to cancel the pact, with Egypt vowing not to “allow anyone to threaten Somalia or infringe upon its territory.”

(The US allowed an illegal immigrant in to the US, they know it too! She is not even who she says she is. Calling for her resignation is weak, censure and Kick her out like to George Santos. They allow a treasonous traitor stay but they have to kick out a liar with petty crimes. Thats how patriotic Republicans are. What if Omar is activating the terrorists that came thru our Southern Border to attack America? This wouldn’t surprise me.)

ILHAN OMAR IN ACTION: A SICKENING DISGRACE

Ilhan Omar questioned Special Envoy for Venezuela Elliott Abrams at a House Foreign Relations Committee hearing. As Max Boot observes elsewhere on Twitter, she doesn’t seem to realize that Abrams is a leading advocate of human rights and democracy–not a promoter of genocide. She does seem to know, however, that Abrams is a supporter of Israel and the member of a suspect “faith tradition.” Related: The Spectator USA’s Dominic Green channels a day in Omar’s life. Note: The staffers who wrote the questions that Omar can barely read must be something like Communist relics of the Cold War era.

My day: Ilhan Omar

As told to Dominic Green

Dominic Green

February 13, 201912:17 PM

I woke up, thanked Allah for not letting the yahud across the street hypnotize me in my sleep, then crawled to the window and peeked over the sill. The black Volvo was gone. He must have got up early this morning, to stuff more money into the mouths of the other members of the Minnesota delegation. I got up, standing strong.

My husband gets the kids’ breakfast. He’s like a brother to me. Really. It’s in our faith tradition. His support gives me time to do more for my people. There’s so much to do when I get to my office,I barely have time to wipe my feet on the Israeli-flag doormat that members of my progressive and diverse community gave mewhen I won my House seat by defeating the yahud Phyllis Kahn and Mohamud Noor, who I now believe to be a yahud.

I stopped at Starbucks on the way to the Zionist Occupation Governmentfor a soy chai latte, when I noticed that the barista was looking at me funnily again. Then I heard one of his co-workers call him ‘Ben’. I left without collecting my drink. =In Somalia, people say that the Jews put drugs in soy products== to make men grow breasts. That’s why many of the men in Occupied Palestine lactate. The Israeli soldiers milk them at checkpoints, and put the milk in their coffee. And we call Israel a democracy.

A pile of letters was waiting on my desk, messages ofsupport because I’m standing strong against Jew money power. Some of the letters are from as far away as the German-speaking community in Argentina and the tribal regions of Afghanistan. There was even one from a proud Muslim activist in Vermont called Bernie. Many letters are also from Somali-Americans who have confessed to wanting to join ISIS, but who need my help so they can avoid prison, or who need to get married so they can come to the United States.

I reaffirm the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics. That’s why I accepted fundraising support from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and why I recently campaigned for CAIR in California. Meanwhile, the Jews use their money to prevent Americans from knowing the truth about terrorism. But brave women like me, Rashida Tlaib, and David Duke aren’t afraid. That’s why, after al-Shabab murdered shoppers in Nairobi in 2013, I said that terrorist attacks are byproducts of the actions of our involvement in other people’s affairs. And you know who pays the US to get involved in other people’s affairs.

That’s also why in2016 I was only one of two Minnesota state lawmakers to vote against a bill denying life insurance benefits to the beneficiaries of terrorists who have killed American citizens. These Somali-Americans were victims of systematic alienation, just like me, every time I go to work and Nancy Pelosi says, ‘Hey, Ilhan, help me out here. Take this money from the Jews before they harvest my organs.’

I almost chuckle when people still uphold Israel as a democracy in the Middle East. But I stop myself. The yahud are behind every rock and tree, and if they see me laughing, they will know that I have seen through their mind-control. My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. I only want to offend some of the Jewish Americans — the ones who control Congress, Hollywood, as well as Zionist propaganda outlets like MSNBC and the New York Times.

Look what happened when I told the truth about the Covington boyswhen they attacked that proud Somali-American activist Nathan Phillips. Everybody knows that the students from the Jewish school of Covington were taunting five Black men before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants. But then the Jews threatened to sue me for libel, using alawyer with the Jewish name of Robert Barnes, who used to represent the Zionist actor Wesley Snipes. They forced me to delete my Tweet. But it is still standing strong in my heart, because I am a mom and intersectional feminist.

Everything that is wrong in the world is the fault of the United States, and because AIPAC controls the US government, everything is in fact the fault of the Jews. Just follow the money. Look at the names on the dollar bills: Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander Hamilton (real name, Zender Himmelstein). Truly, the yahud have no shame. They even claim that evangelical Christians support them. May Allah awaken the people and see the evil doings of Israel.

I go to bed early, because I don’t want to be hypnotized by the TV. This what standing strong against Jewish money means. That’s why I boycott the State of Israel and its products, including drip irrigation, USB flash drives, and the board game Rummikub, which is a Mossad hypnosis device.
