I feel rather sorry for Gavin Newsom. I think your theory is plausible but I don't think it will turn out exactly like you think. However, were the Chinese to invade, the quislings who helped them will be first against the wall.
What I do think: Americans who are now treated like offal in their own country won't be so happy to continue under the authority of the corrupt federal system. Anyone standing with the constitutional republic will find themselves on the right side of history, imo. That might include some "invaders", too, imo.

I want to be clear because we don't need or condone the use of violence here: I think foreign invaders would dispose of their American assets with immediacy. Meaning folks like Newsom, would ironically be better off facing military tribunal or a jury of peers.
