The magnetic pole diverges from the (in the diagram) 'Earth Tilt' axis of rotation. That's what the magnetic pole shift 'theorists' are apparently missing. Excellent illustration. TY.

Spin a basketball on your finger, Anon. Does it rotate about an imaginary axis? Draw an imaginary line along that axis. That is a top (North) to bottom (South) line around which the basketball spins. Like our planet's axis.
Magnetic fields have an axis too. These do not match with a planet's axis. Rather the magnetic fields wander around the planet's axis. These fields are likely due to a rotating iron core that produces magnetic fields that do not align with the planet's axis of rotation.
