The broadcaster had until April 9 to file a response motion, while Stephanopoulos had until May 20. ABC requested a uniform response date of May 10.
“That date will extend the deadline for the corporate Defendants’ response by 30 days, while reducing the deadline for Defendant Stephanopoulos’s response by 10 days. Plaintiff consents to this request,” the court filing read.

This lawsuit centers on remarks made by Stephanopoulos on his show during an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace.
The complaint alleges that Stephanopoulos repeatedly stated a jury had found President Trump liable for the rape of writer E. Jean Carroll, despite being “aware of the truth”—the jury did not find the former president liable for rape, yet he “still falsely stated otherwise.”
The lawsuit contends that these allegedly defamatory statements were made by the host “within the scope and course of his employment“ and ”with intent to harm,” per Epoch Times.

Court filings indicate that ABC was served on March 19 and reached out the next day to Trump’s attorneys, who consented to the broadcaster accepting service on behalf of Mr. Stephanopoulos, who had not been served.
