Space is like driving through a forest on a dark and rainy night. Light is absorbed and scattered and the dark seems impenetrable. On a human scale, howerver, electromagnetic radiation in the form of starlight at visible wavelengths is easily observable, Anon. Try the next clear night. See a star? There are lots of recorded observations from very-long radio wavelengths through the ultraviolet and x-ray spectrums. Space is vast, but the energy present is observable.

Agreed. The planets and satellites of the solar system are visible with a good pair of binoculars, So are open clusters and nebulae within our galaxy and globular clusters that orbit our galaxy. A few galaxies like the Megallanic Clouds and Messier 31 are within your reach as well. Check it out under a dark sky. Most of the Messier list is visible.

The Western Wall is part of Fort Antonia, Anon. Al Aqsa and the rock are part of a Roman-era fort. The Temple had Kidron Brook.
In Mishnah Middot 3:2-3, it is recorded that there were two openings at the base of the altar, and into those two cavities drained the blood poured at the base down into the SHISSIN, where it tells us they emptied out into the Kidron brook. The Kidron brook is a small stream that runs in the Kidron valley on the eastern side of the city of Jerusalem, and descends southward from there towards the Dead Sea. A detail is also mentioned in the Mishnah's text of a place at the altar’s base that could be entered whereby this cavity could be cleaned.
