Yep. A corruption of history/legend/mythology in order to provide a literal take on allegorical tales to the masses for the sake of instilling basic morality and a willing slave mind is what religion based on belief is. Control.
Now that that's over, what is acceptable in terms of actions to break free from subsequent and various other programmings in order to free people from this enslavement? Say one of the slaves searched the highest of highs and lowest of lows, dredging through "sins" in order to understand the truth and give the masses a chance at freedom. Is that person evil or good? Depends on your take on ethics, I suppose.
People should be freed, though. Imagine what a future that would be. Morality for humanity's sake instead of a fear-based relationship with an un-provable entity? At the same time AI and super advanced technology propels everyone into freedom in all regards?
