“More than 70million Americans live in homes with water contaminated by the substances and the government estimates half of the country's water sources contains high levels of them.

Campaigners have been calling for the substances to be removed from water because a growing body of research links them to thousands of cancers, infertility cases and a host of other health conditions - including autism.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) handed down mandates this week that would require six substances among the group known as PFAS chemicals to drop to near-zero levels in tap water.

The analysis looked at the 10 cities and counties identified in a report by the Environmental Working Group as having the highest level of PFAS in drinking water.

They were: Brunswick County, NC; Quad Cities, Iowa; Miami, FL.; Bergen County, NJ; Wilmington, NC; Philadelphia, PA.; Louisville, KY; New Orleans, LA; Charleston, SC; and Decatur, AL.”

One person has been killed and five injured, including children, in a shooting in Washington, D.C., just minutes away from the White House. At around 6:15 pm, the suspects drove up and fired into a crowd in the Carver Langston neighborhood on Wednesday evening, according to Police Chief Pamela Smith. Investigators believe the suspects left the car and began shooting at people on the street.They peeled away in a light blue Toyota sedan with no front tags, dark tints and black rims, police say. The vehicle is 'possibly occupied with two shooters inside.'

House Republicans demand to know why the largest Christian school in the U.S. was slapped with a steep $37.7 million fine by the Biden administration. They say the massive fine may based on 'political animus' and a tool of government weaponization being used by Biden's federal agency. Grand Canyon University (GCU), the nation's largest Christian school, was allegedly fined for lying to 7,500 students about the cost of doctoral degrees in October 2023 to boost enrollment, according to the agency. But GCU has denied the charges and is currently appealing the decision.
