“More than 70million Americans live in homes with water contaminated by the substances and the government estimates half of the country's water sources contains high levels of them.

 

Campaigners have been calling for the substances to be removed from water because a growing body of research links them to thousands of cancers, infertility cases and a host of other health conditions - including autism.

 

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) handed down mandates this week that would require six substances among the group known as PFAS chemicals to drop to near-zero levels in tap water.

 

The analysis looked at the 10 cities and counties identified in a report by the Environmental Working Group as having the highest level of PFAS in drinking water.

 

They were: Brunswick County, NC; Quad Cities, Iowa; Miami, FL.; Bergen County, NJ; Wilmington, NC; Philadelphia, PA.; Louisville, KY; New Orleans, LA; Charleston, SC; and Decatur, AL.”

House Republicans demand to know why the largest Christian school in the U.S. was slapped with a steep $37.7 million fine by the Biden administration. They say the massive fine may based on 'political animus' and a tool of government weaponization being used by Biden's federal agency. Grand Canyon University (GCU), the nation's largest Christian school, was allegedly fined for lying to 7,500 students about the cost of doctoral degrees in October 2023 to boost enrollment, according to the agency. But GCU has denied the charges and is currently appealing the decision.

Mike McCormick, who served as Joe Biden’s stenographer traveling with him around the world including to Ukraine, recently published a book revealing what he saw, which included criminal activity in regards to the Burisma kickback scheme. “The Case to Impeach and Imprison Joe Biden” lays out probably the most comprehensive account ever written about the scheme.

 

McCorrmick became aware of the criminal nature of the activity after poring over the emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop, which allowed him to put it all together. “When I worked for him, I thought Joe was harmless — egotistical, buffoonish, and unpresidential, but harmless,” he said. “Now I think of him as an evil criminal who should be impeached and imprisoned.” McCormick served as Biden’s stenographer when he was vice president from 2011 to 2017, transcribing every speech and interview.

 

He said he personally witnessed Biden negotiate the Burisma kickback scheme — U.S. funding to Ukrainian energy, primarily Burisma, in exchange for putting Hunter Biden on Burisma’s board of directors — on a trip to Poland in 2014. He came to a lot of conclusions that other reporters haven’t figured out, due to his unique position and intensive study of this issue. McCormick cross-referenced what he witnessed with the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, and posted some of the most alarming findings from it at JoeBidenUnauthorized.com.

 

One of his observations was that Hunter likely did not author some of his emails, pointing out signs indicating that, such as using the complex word “imprudent” and suggesting strategy that he wasn’t intellectually capable of. McCormick believes they were probably authored by Ted Kaufman, a close associate of his father’s and former senator from Delaware who was digging into Ukrainian politics at the time. Joe Biden used a disguised email address for these communications.

 

McCormick had access to details that many investigative journalists would not. For example, Jake Sullivan, who served in various capacities under Obama, gave the press a briefing on a trip to Ukraine, and his name was withheld from official documents. But since McCormick was sitting next to him, he knew it was him.

 

McCormick said the “evidence of the crime” was right there in the briefing, “right when Sullivan declares that Joe’s U.S. taxpayer-supported energy assistance for all of Ukraine will be directed to ‘extract unconventional gas resources’ and support ‘energy efficiency.’” He pointed out how Sullivan cleverly altered the wording from “shale gas” to “unconventional gas resources” to disguise it. Burisma was only one of a handful of Ukrainian companies with a license for fracking at that time.

 

Hunter’s hard drive revealed that he and his company received $11 million for being on the board of Burisma and conducting attorney work for the company, despite the fact Hunter had no related background experience before he served in those positions.. An FBI document revealed that Biden and Hunter were each paid $5 million to get a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma removed.

 

McCormick pointed out that there is no statute of limitations on this type of crime. The Burisma kickback scheme would have likely never been exposed if Hunter hadn’t left his laptop at the repair store.

 

McCormick reported his findings to the FBI — showing how firmly he believed crimes were committed; considering if he was wrong, he could be prosecuted. But no one has ever asked him to give sworn testimony, not even Republican members of Congress, although they spoke with him. Inside Editioninterviewed him, then never aired the interview.

 

Tellingly, the Ukrainian prosecutor closed all investigations into Burisma in March 2021, and Burisma was dissolved in 2023.

McCormick was kicked off Twitter in 2021 for posting a photo of Biden, Obama and a few others with the caption, “Every single person in this photo knew Joe Biden was shaking down Ukraine through his sleazy son Hunter. Every. Single. One.” He’s back on X in the Elon Musk era.

 

One of the chapters in the book goes over Biden’s ties to the cartels. He said Biden flew to Honduras to ostensibly “support Honduras as a way to engage,” but “[it] was actually quite destructive because the Obama/Biden outreach to Honduras through Porfirio Lobo Sosa occurred as his son Fabio was smuggling massive amounts of cocaine into the United States.

 

Fabio was finally arrested and pleaded guilty in 2016 in New York. McCormick surmised, “This reads to me like the Lobos were a father-son crime team who did as they pleased because dad was the president and Fabio was above the law. Sickeningly familiar, isn’t it? Echoes of Joe and Hunter and ‘We’re the elites.’”

 

Some of Biden’s remarks were disturbing, like those made at the time of the Boston Marathon bombing. He made a statement shortly after the violence started, but before it was clear it was a bombing, that he wasn’t too concerned “unless there’s a bomb or something.” McCormick speculates that officials may have known in advance and did not prevent it, and Biden was revealing classified information. Adding insult to injury, Biden made a statement praising the survivors that said, “It was worth — it was worth it — I mean this sincerely — just to hear each of you speak.”

 

The stunning arrogance of Biden grated on McCormick over the years. He relayed one dinner conversation that Biden had with top left-wing female journalists in 2014, when he was trying to win them over from supporting Hillary Clinton. After giving them a lecture about how being middle class means you buy your coffee at Dunkin Donuts instead of Starbucks, he said, “We’re the elites.” Twice, to make sure they heard it.

 

McCormick concluded, “America is now operating under a two-tiered justice system. The Biden Department of Justice is covering for the crimes of the president.”

Biden announces largest expansion of gun background checks in decades

The Biden administration has finalized the largest expansion of gun-sales background checks since the advent of the federal check system in the 1990s, moving to close the “gun show loophole” and online sales that have avoided checks in the past.

 

The new rule being announced Thursday expands the definition of who is considered a firearms dealer and says every dealer must conduct a background check regardless of the sale venue. That means sales at gun shows or conducted over the internet must now be included.

 

It is not a universal background check, meaning some transactions such as gifts or occasional sales are still exempt. But administration officials said they expect the rule will cover tens of thousands of sales each year that currently escape background checks.

 

Biden officials called the new rule overdue but historic.

 

“Countless families and communities will be spared the horror and heartbreak of gun violence by this new rule,” Vice President Kamala Harris said in previewing the rule for reporters.

 

The rule comes amid a flurry of executive activity on issues important to President Biden’s political base and the 2024 election. He has recently attempted a major student loan forgiveness program and is pondering action on immigration.

 

At issue is language defining who is considered “engaged in the business” of dealing firearms.

 

Those operating out of traditional stores have been covered, but Biden officials say that misses perhaps 20,000 other people who make a business out of buying and selling at gun shows and using online methods.

 

“Under this regulation, it will not matter if guns are sold on the internet, at a gun show, or at a brick-and-mortar store: if you sell guns predominantly to earn a profit, you must be licensed, and you must conduct background checks,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said.

 

Officials said they carved out exceptions so people can manage their collections, including selling them off, without having to worry about being considered a dealer.

Background checks are supposed to weed out people who are ineligible to purchase a gun, including felons, immigrants without documentation, fugitives and those with domestic violence records.

 

The administration has been working on the rule for months, including releasing a draft proposal last summer. The final rule, which is being submitted for publication in the Federal Register on Thursday and will take effect in about a month, hews closely to the original proposal, officials said.

 

Gun rights groups vehemently oppose the idea. They worry it is a step toward the creation of a national gun registry and say criminals will find ways to get firearms no matter what.

 

“Most mass shooters, including those inspired by Islamic terrorist groups, pass background checks to acquire firearms,” the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action argues on its website.

 

Biden officials said they anticipate legal challenges but said they believe they are on firm ground under a 2022 law passed by Congress in the wake of a mass shooting that killed 10 Black people at a market in Buffalo, New York, and another mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 19 students and two teachers.

 

But it was another shooting, 2019’s massacre in Midland and Odessa, Texas, which killed seven people and wounded 25, that drew attention to unlicensed dealers.

 

Seth Aaron Ator, who bought the weapon, was a prohibited purchaser because of mental illness and had failed a background check before. But he was able to buy an AR-style semi-automatic rifle from a man who did not perform background checks.

 

The seller, Marcus Anthony Braziel, pleaded guilty to dealing firearms without a license and a tax evasion charge and was sentenced to two years in prison.

 

The crux of the new rule is trying to define who is considered to be in the business of dealing firearms. The policy lays out some tests, including that someone is repeatedly advertising sales, reserves space at shows or flea markets, keeps profit and loss records, or uses credit cards for sales.

 

Failing to register as a dealer would be met with jail time and fines.

 

Officials said the public comments on the draft rule ran about two-to-one in favor of the idea.

Some 3.6% of trafficking cases involved online marketplace sales, 2.7% involved social media and 1% involved peer-to-peer apps.

 

Estimates vary on the number of gun transactions that happen without a check.

 

One study of a prominent online marketplace, done by gun-control group Everytown for Gun Safety, identified nearly 1.2 million ads for firearms sales that would not have needed to go through a background check.

 

Another study, which surveyed Americans who had recently acquired firearms, found that 22% of the transactions didnu2019t go through a background check. That included both sales and gifts.

Increase of 56 percent compared to pre-corona years

The response from the Home Office to Brousek's inquiry is complicated. The percentage changes in the deployment figures in the tables appear small. They show slight increases because they are shown from year to year.

Zimbabwe just introduced a new gold-backed currency in an attempt to fight inflation and wean off the US dollar

Zimbabwe's central bank has introduced a new gold-backed currency, ZiG, to combat high inflation.

This is Zimbabwe's sixth attempt at a new currency since 2008.

The African nation is aiming to phase out its multi-currency system where the US dollar is dominant.

Inflation-hit Zimbabwe has a new currency — again.

 

Last week, the country's central bank introduced a new gold-backed currency called Zimbabwe Gold, or ZiG, in an attempt to tame price gains that reached a seven-month high of 55% in March.

 

It's the country's sixth attempt at creating a new currency since 2008. The Zimbabwe dollar — the currency the country most recently used — has tanked 80% this year alone.

 

There's been so little confidence in Zimbabwe's local currency that about 80% of the country's population transacts in the US dollar.

 

On Thursday, Zimbabwe's central bank governor, John Mushayavanhu, said the country has real gold and mineral assets to back up the new ZiG currency. Mushayavanhu said Zimbabwe's central bank holds 2.1 tons of gold and other assets, including diamonds, that are equivalent to 0.4 tons of gold, according to Voice of America.

 

The ZiG started trading on Monday at an exchange rate of 13.56 to the dollar set by the central bank.

 

Reservations about Zimbabwe's new currency

There are reservations about the new ZiG currency.

 

In a note on Sunday, Hasnain Malik of research firm Tellimer wrote that Zimbabwe's economy needs fundamental fixes like reductions in fiscal deficit and external debt, not a new currency.

 

However, moving to the new ZiG currency could solve at least one problem, for a start: a shortage of US coins.

 

Zimbabwe's shortage of US coins has resulted in people receiving their change in sweets, chocolates, and pens, according to the BBC.

 

Zimbabwe has been trying to wean itself off the US dollar

 

If successful, ZiG may be able to replace some — if not all — transactions that currently take place with the US dollar.

Zimbabwe has already applied for membership to the BRICS's New Development Bank, which is seeking to expand the use of local currency loans.

 

Zimbabwe's central bank said in its 2024 monetary policy statement, released last week, that it will be preparing a "structured roadmap to gradually promote the increased use of the new local currency."

 

For a start, it's making it compulsory for companies to settle at least half of their quarterly taxes in ZiG, according to the central bank report.

 

The African country has been trying to wean itself off the US dollar for years, with little success. The country has seen runaway inflation due to years of economic mismanagement under its former leader, Robert Mugabe.

 

At one point in 2008, annual inflation reached 500 billion percent, according to the International Monetary Fund.

 

Zimbabwe's government banned the use of foreign currencies as legal tender in 2019. The country's former central bank governor said at the time that the country's economy was "at the mercy of US dollar pricing, which has been a root cause of inflation," the BBC reported.

 

The country was forced, however, to reverse the ban in June 2022 to rein in inflation.

 

The government had initially planned to end the multi-currency system in 2025, but extended it until 2030.

The ringmaster of the Big Top clown show is Alvin Bragg, the progressive Manhattan District Attorney who campaigned —unethically— on the promise to bring down Trump. Once in office, Bragg inflated a time-barred and nominal misdemeanor into a multitude of dubious felonies by mangling evidence and contorting the law.

 

With a wave of his showman’s cane, Bragg transformed a singular transaction into 34 separate charges in what’s known as “count staking” that no good prosecutor would ever do. It’s a transparent window into an otherwise opaque case.

 

The gravamen of the indictment is that in 2016 Trump paid money to Stephanie Clifford (a.k.a. Stormy Daniels) in exchange for her silence about a purported affair that occurred a decade earlier, that he incorrectly recorded the payments in business records, and that all of it violated election laws, even though it did not.

 

Bragg surely knows his case is specious, at best. But it doesn’t matter. He’s counting on the sympathies of a liberal trial judge, Juan Merchan, and the venom of a jury pool destined to be dominated by Trump-hating New Yorkers. The once-respected standard of an “impartial jury” is being treated as a mere inconvenience instead of a constitutional right.

 

Instead of ruining Trump, their antics have fortified his popular support.

It is self-evident to many that the charges against the former president would be brought against no one else not named Trump. The fact that he is the leading candidate for president in the upcoming election is the only reason he is being persecuted under the guise of prosecution. Even the left-leaning New York Times could find no other instance in which a falsification-of-records case was elevated (i.e., misused) in such a felonious manner. The DA’s legal theory is not just untested, it’s absurd.

 

The most curious —and corrupt— aspect of Bragg’s case is that he still has not identified what underlying crime Trump supposedly committed. This, of course, is required under the Sixth Amendment. But no one, least of all Judge Merchan, seems the least bit bothered by it. His Honor ruled that Bragg had presented “legally sufficient evidence” to proceed. Okay, but under what law exactly?

 

In his malign indictment, the DA vaguely accuses Trump of “violating election laws” without specifying which ones were transgressed. No applicable statutes are set forth. The reason for the masquerade is obvious —in a state case, a local prosecutor has no authority to charge federal crimes allegedly committed during the course of a federal election. Period.

 

None of that is stopping Bragg or his sycophant judge. The DA asserts that any payments to Stormy Daniels were illegal campaign donations. Forget the fact that the Federal Election Commission (FEC) investigated Trump and concluded that said payments do not constitute unlawful donations. Never mind that the Department of Justice also studied the same expenditures and decided that no crimes were committed. Even Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus Vance, chose not to charge Trump at the end of his years-long investigation.

 

As I have pointed out repeatedly, money paid in exchange for non-disclosure agreements (or NDAs, as they’re known) are perfectly legal and quite common. Corporations and individuals do it every day. I have negotiated many of them as a normal conclusion to settlement agreements, encouraged by judges who were motivated to resolve lawsuits.

Indicted, powerful former Ohio utilities chairman dead suicide suspected

Ohio’s former chairman of the Public Utilities Commissioner, facing charges in the state's biggest corruption case, has been found dead.

 

The body of Sam Randazzo was discovered late Tuesday morning in a building he owned in Columbus. He was 74.

 

The Franklin County Coronor's Office said an autopsy is planned and believes his death was by suicide.

 

Randazzo was facing charges in connection to the state’s House Bill 6 scandal. He had pleaded not guilty to all.

 

In February, an Ohio grand jury indicted Randazzo and two former FirstEnergy Corp. executives for their roles.

 

Randazzo controlled two companies – the Sustainability Funding Alliance of Ohio and IEU-Ohio Administration Co. Both were named in the indictment, with prosecutors saying they were shell companies created to further Randazzo’s criminal activities, the indictment said.

 

Randazzo's 22 felony counts included:

 

• Eight counts of money laundering.

 

• Six counts of tampering with records.

 

• Three counts of telecommunications fraud.

 

• Two counts of aggravated theft.

 

• One count each of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, grand theft, and bribery.

 

The billion-dollar bailout of Ohio’s nuclear energy companies from House Bill 6 resulted in the largest corruption scandal in state history. Former House Speaker Larry Householder was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for his involvement. Former Ohio Republican Party Chairman Matt Borges is also in prison for his involvement.

 

Householder lost his speakership and was expelled from the chamber in June 2021.

 

As previously reported by The Center Square, FirstEnergy agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors in their investigation. It admitted conspiring with public officials, others and entities to pay millions of dollars to public officials in exchange for specific official action to help FirstEnergy.

 

Householder and four co-conspirators were charged in 2020. Also charged were Borges, lobbyist Neil Clark, the Oxley Group co-founder Juan Cespedes and strategist John Longstreth.

 

HB6 created a new Ohio Clean Air Program to support nuclear energy plants and some solar power facilities. Electricity consumers were to fund the program with a surcharge that ran through 2027.

 

The fee, scheduled to begin Jan. 1, 2021, was stopped by the Ohio Supreme Court in late December 2020. Yost also reached a deal with FirstEnergy to stop what would have been a $120 million windfall for the company this year based on another part of the legislation.

13 Young Men Charged in Brooklyn Synagogue ‘Tunnel’ Melee

Some of the defendants are accused of breaking through a wall between an excavated space and the sanctuary, part of the headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.

Thirteen members of a Hasidic Jewish community were arraigned on Wednesday on charges stemming from a January incident in which a wall inside a famous Brooklyn synagogue was damaged by young men wielding a hammer and crowbar — setting off a melee that was captured on video.

The 13 people, all young men, pleaded not guilty in State Supreme Court in Brooklyn to charges that ranged from criminal mischief to obstructing governmental administration. Another four defendants were absent because they were in Israel, according to their lawyer, Levi Huebner.

Justice Adam Perlmutter ordered the defendants, many of whom are from Israel, to turn over their passports. He denied prosecutors’ request to ban the young men from the synagogue, on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, which is where they both worship and study.

The synagogue is a part of a complex of buildings that are centered by a gothic revival structure at 770 Eastern Parkway and is the global headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. Referred to as 770, it is one of the most significant religious sites in New York.

According to Mr. Huebner, most of the defendants came to New York from Israel to study the Torah and the teachings of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, known as the Rebbe.

The Rebbe, who died in 1994, is considered to be the messiah by many in the Lubavitch sect, and during his lifetime he called for the expansion of the synagogue, which is packed sardine-like every day with worshipers from around the world. The squeeze on the Sabbath and Jewish holidays is even more extreme.

In January, after news reports revealed that a space adjacent to the synagogue had been secretly excavated, the building owners called for cement trucks to fill the space. Before they could, some students broke through the wall between the dug-out space and the synagogue, the police said. They appeared in video footage being cheered by fellow students as they were arrested.

“They did it to expand 770 and make it bigger,” a man who gave his name as Zalmy Grossman said in January. “They have come to fulfill the rebbe’s wishes.”

None of the young men charged in the January incident are accused of excavating the passage outside the sanctuary.

City inspectors and the media referred to the excavated space as a “tunnel,” a characterization which many in the Lubavitch movement say maligns and casts unspoken suspicions upon the insular community.

The city’s Buildings Department closed down parts of 770 to investigate the damage and issued two citations against Lubavitch leaders for work conducted without proper permits. By the end of the week, the excavated space had been filled with cement, and city inspectors allowed the synagogue to open again.

At the hearing on Wednesday, the indicted men wore traditional Lubavitch dress of dark suits and skullcaps, placing their large black fedoras on their laps as they sat in the courtroom. Most ranged in age from 18 to 21, and few spoke English fluently.

Mendel Gerlitzky, who was arraigned on charges of criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, was raised in Brooklyn and prays at 770 three times a day. While many of his fellow defendants declined to comment, Mr. Gerlitzky did not hesitate to draw attention. On the lapel of his black suit, he wore a pin in the shape of a shovel. It featured a tiny etching of the synagogue and the words “expand 770.”

Mr. Gerlitzky said that the media and law enforcement, emboldened by the Chabad leaders at 770, have exaggerated the impact of the January incident. “The whole story has been blown out of proportion,” he said, adding that many people in the Crown Heights community favor an expansion of 770, even if they do not condone excavations done without permits.

Rabbi Motti Seligson, a spokesman for the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I don't want to think this, but this "Plan" may be the biggest fuck up in history if there is a plan at all. Came on a few months after it started. Hard to believe that all of this destruction would be allowed and for what? Just so normy, moronic people don't flip their shit?

 

Nope. Sorry. All of this should have been taken down way before now. The destruction that has been allowed to happen in my opinion, are unforgivable. If this plan plays out to it's final scene does anyone think when the people find out that it all could have been prevented and wasn't, that they'll understand the logic behind any of this? I don't think so. It defies all rationale, logic and common sense. Now, the infiltration is complete and the kill shot is coming.
