Elon Musk said Thursday that the House has launched an inquiry into his country’s work in Brazil after the tech mogul claimed that Brazilian leaders illegally demanded he ban members of parliament and journalists from his social media platform X and he refused.
Musk announced that X has “received an inquiry from the U.S. House of Representatives regarding actions taken in Brazil that were in violation of Brazilian law.”
He clarified that the company “were asked to suspend sitting members of the Brazilian parliament and many journalists” by the country’s judiciary.
It is unclear which House committee or member reached out to X over the conflict.

Trump said his trip raised a further $15,000,000 for his campaign, which just this week announced a bumper $50M boost from a high-level fundraiser.
Speaking for around an hour to a gathering of Truth Social staffers, stakeholders, and supporters, Trump explained how he had been on the road since around 6AM, culminating in a lengthy speech to a crowd that included actor Jon Voight, singer Lee Greenwood, and political supporters.
Trump heaped praise on many present in the crowd and made note of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s pledge to raise money for and campaign with the presumptive GOP nominee.
Rounding off his oft-told story of DeSantis’s duplicity and lack of loyalty, Trump noted: “Today, I heard very nice things. I heard he’s going to campaign very hard for me. And he’s going to raise a lot of money for me. Ron, we like you. Welcome back.”
