The White House releases an official transcript anytime the president gives a speech or takes questions. Communications staff frequently correct, add to or alter Biden’s official remarks in order to either bring them into compliance with official White House policy or, in some cases, reality, a Daily Caller analysis showed. In several cases, official statements had to be changed to convey the exact opposite of what Biden actually said.

Through 118 statements, speeches and chats with reporters spanning from Jan. 1 to April 24, the White House has officially updated its transcript with corrections to what the president said out loud at least 148 times.

Some of the modifications include corrections to names, dates and titles of organizations. Others change verbs and modify the meaning of the president’s statement entirely. Words that the president didn’t say, but should’ve, according to the White House staff, have also been added to the transcripts.

Presidential Debates Commission sticking to original schedule amid Trump's calls for earlier debates

First presidential debate slated for Sep 16 at Texas State University in San Marcos

The Commission on Presidential Debates will proceed with its original schedule despite requests from former President Trump's campaign for earlier events.

The commission released its schedule in November last year, but Trump's camp has urged organizers to offer earlier and more frequent debates in a bid to outshine Biden onstage.

"The CPD’s criteria […] will be applied in early September; afterward, the Commission will extend debate invitations to qualifying candidates," the CPD told Fox News Digital.

The commission added, "The CPD is proceeding with production and broadcast plans at its four debate sites as also announced on November 20, 2023."

Radio personality Howard Stern hosted Biden last week for an interview in which the president confirmed his intentions to debate his Republican opponent.

"I am, somewhere, I don’t know when," Biden replied. "I'm happy to debate him."

Trump pounced on the comment, asserting that he was eager to debate under any conditions and at any time.

"Everyone knows he doesn’t really mean it, but in case he does, I say, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE, an old expression used by Fighters," the former president wrote on Truth Social.

Earlier this year, the Trump campaign wrote a letter to the commission to request that the debate schedule be expanded and moved up on the calendar.

"The Commission must move up the timetable of its proposed 2024 debates to ensure more Americans have a full chance to see the candidates before they start voting, and we would argue for adding more debates in addition to those on the currently proposed schedule," Trump advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita wrote in the letter.

Prior to the Stern interview, the Biden camp remained coy about the president's willingness to debate, characterizing Trump's emphasis on the question as desperate.

"If I were him, I would want to debate me, too," Biden told reporters in Nevada this year. "He’s got nothing else to do."

The first presidential debate is scheduled for Sept. 16 at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. The second debate will be in Petersburg, Virginia, on Oct. 1, and the third will be held in Salt Lake City on Oct. 9. A vice presidential debate is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Turkey Claims It Thwarted ISIS Bombing of Communist May Day March

Authorities in Turkey have arrested more than 100 people in the past week accused of having ties to the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization, including eight detained on Monday allegedly plotting a bomb attack on communist May Day marches in Istanbul.

Communists celebrate May Day, or International Workers’ Day, annually on March 1, ostensibly to mark the contributors of global worker movements to society but more often to celebrate communist ideology, responsible for more than 100 million deaths around the world in its history. The celebrations planned in Turkey this year are not without controversy as the government of Islamist strongman Recep Tayyip Erdogan has banned the leftists from using Istanbul’s iconic Taksim Square for their festivities, relegating them to smaller spaces.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya published multiple messages on the social media outlet Twitter on Monday claiming that jihadist terrorists were planning to bomb attendees at May Day events. The dozens of arrests associated with the Islamic State – once the dominant terrorist threat on the globe – follow the bombing of a Roman Catholic church in Istanbul in January, the first Islamic State attack in Turkey since 2017. Relegated to plotting killings in South Asia and remote areas of Africa after the collapse of the “caliphate” in Syria and Iraq in 2017, terrorism experts have warned that the Islamic State is apparently making a comeback, recruiting with particular vigor in the Middle East and Central Asia.

In a message on Monday, Yerlikaya identified the top suspect arrested in the most recent operations against ISIS only by the initials “K.A.” and claimed that he was a terrorist associated with ISIS who had “knowledge of bombmaking.” K.A. was allegedly hoarding explosive chemicals in his home capable of causing “large-scale explosions,” the Turkish official said. …
