I am not sure this is valid - been working a lot, so haven't had time to do the research…

 

There are different kinds of xylitol out there. I was told you need to use the one made from Birch trees. Several years ago, this was the only one you could find. Now they are making it out of fruits and other things.

 

This might be the reason for the clots - there is a lot of processing involved with making it from birch. They probably found an easier, cheaper way of producing it, and thus the risks

 

Polyol, a natural sugar, is extracted from birch bark. It is the only source in Europe of guaranteed 100% xylitol extracted from birch bark, and is considered to be a high-performance substitute for regular sugar because it brings the same taste enjoyment and has none of its disadvantages.
