Roseanne Barr Cancels Tell-All TV Interview

Roseanne Barr has cancelled a planned television interview, in favor of recording her own thoughts and explanations.

On Sunday, the actress announced she was set to do a TV interview “this week” and would share further details on Monday.

The news came as she thanked fans for their support following the controversy that has surrounded her since a racist tweet led to her firing and the cancellation of ABC's Roseanne reboot in May.

However, by Monday evening, Barr, 65, had backed out of the interview.

"After a lot of thought, I decided that I won’t be doing any TV interviews, too stressful & untrustworthy 4 me & my fans,” she explained on Twitter. “I’m going to film it myself & post it on my youtube channel in the next week – the entire explanation of what happened & why!”

“I love you all – sign up & get ready," she added.

The tweet was followed up by a 2015 clip from her web series, Domestic Goddess: She’s So High.

“I don’t judge him,” said Ron Bracken, 59, a salesman and a supporter of President Trump, while sitting Sunday morning in the cafe of the megachurch that Mr. Pruitt has attended for decades.

Mr. Bracken conceded that perhaps there had been some wrongdoing on Mr. Pruitt’s watch while in Washington. But he was not ready to condemn Mr. Pruitt based on news media reports, which he said had become partisan and untrustworthy: “It’s probably not as bad as they say. If you’re a Republican, you’ve got a mark on your back.”

Cardinals face backlash after team president vouches for SCOTUS pick

Arizona Cardinals president Michael Bidwill backed President Donald Trump's Monday night nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court in a letter sent to Senate leaders overseeing the process.

Bidwill went to school with Kavanaugh and penned the letter along with Georgetown Prep alumni. Here's the full letter:

However, some were not happy with Bidwell pronouncing his support.

The Cardinals tweeted out a story headlined "Michael Bidwill Backs Classmate For Supreme Court" roughly an hour after Trump's announcement, leading to some backlash over the decision to use an official team account and site to promote political views.

Prosecutor who reportedly suggested Maxine Waters be shot is placed on leave

A California prosecutor will be placed on administrative leave as his office investigates offensive comments made on his social media accounts, the county district attorney announced on Monday.

Michael Selyem, who leads the Hardcore Gang Unit at the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, is the subject of an internal investigation, according to a statement from District Attorney Mike Ramos, after reportedly targeting Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), former first lady Michelle Obama, immigrants and Mexicans in comments on his social media accounts.

Waters scolds Trump at immigration rally: 'How dare you?'

According to images published in the San Bernardino Sun newspaper, Selyem recently attacked Waters after she called for Trump administration members to be harassed in public.

“Being a loudmouthed . . . in the ghetto you would think someone would have shot” her by now, he wrote, in a much more explicit manner, according to the Sun.

Selyem also posted a fake picture of Michelle Obama holding a sign that said “Trump grabbed my penis,” the Sun wrote. The notion that Michelle Obama is a man is a smear that has grown in some conspiracy-theory-minded circles on the right.

Beneath a Breitbart article, he reportedly wrote: “I am all for white males immigrating here legally and starting a business. It is the terrorist a–holes sneaking in here wanting to kill me an[d] my family that I am opposed to.”

Cohen's New Lawyer Blasts Trump, Giuliani Over 'Truth'

Michael Cohen’s new attorney came out firing Monday against President Donald Trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, challenging Giuliani over a recent interview and claiming the president and his lawyer together calling for the truth was an “oxymoron.”

Lanny Davis, who previously worked for President Bill Clinton’s administration and has staunchly defended Hillary Clinton following her 2016 loss to Trump, went after Giuliani’s call Sunday for Cohen to cooperate with federal prosecutors and to tell “the truth.”

“Did @RudyGiuliani really say on Sunday shows that @MichaelCohen212 should cooperate with prosecutors and tell the truth? Seriously? Is that Trump and Giuliani definition of “truth”? Trump/Giuliani next to the word “truth” = oxymoron. Stay tuned. #thetruthmatters,” Davis tweeted.

Davis was referring to Giuliani’s appearance on ABC.

"Michael Cohen should cooperate with the government," Giuliani said.

And when Giuliani was pressed about whether he had “concerns” about what Cohen could tell investigators, he stated firmly that he had none.

"Zero. None," Giuliani said. "As long as he tells the truth, we're home free."

Davis appears to have taken an approach similar to that of Michael Avenatti, the attorney for Stormy Daniels who often uses social media to blast Trump, as well as Cohen, and many of the president’s supporters.

Jim Jordan defender: Ohio State locker room talk included ‘prepare to drop your pants’

A former Ohio State wrestler who has staunchly defended U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said that the “conversations in a locker room” that Jordan admitted Friday he’d heard during his days as an assistant coach involved wrestlers saying “prepare to drop your pants” when they talked about going to see team doctor Richard Strauss.

In a lengthy phone interview with USA TODAY Sports on Sunday, Michael Alf, who wrestled at Ohio State from 1988-92, continually praised Jordan, his assistant coach who has been accused by seven former wrestlers of knowing about and failing to stop Strauss from molesting athletes.

Jordan rebuffs allegations that he knew of Ohio State abuse: 'It's not true'

When asked for examples of the locker room conversations that Jordan mentioned, Alf said:

"If someone said, ‘Oh, I’ve got to go see Doc Strauss,’ it would be like, ‘Oh, prepare to drop your pants,’” said Alf, now a 48-year-old car dealer in suburban Chicago. “That was the locker room talk. I’m going to see Doc Strauss. It was always the joke, prepare to drop your pants. We kind of all said it.”

After several days of outright denials by Jordan that he had heard about allegations of sexual misconduct in the wrestling program, he revised his account Friday when he told Fox News that “conversations in a locker room are a lot different than allegations of abuse.”

An email to Jordan’s communications director Ian Fury Monday afternoon seeking comment on Alf’s characterization was not returned.

Father, toddler son shot dead in Georgia; mother falls into ravine while fleeing attacker, officials say

An American family of three living in the republic of Georgia died during an attack by a disgruntled shepherd, who shot and killed the father and young son, and caused the mother to flee in fear – until she fell into a ravine and died, officials said.

Ryan Smith, his wife, Lora Smith, and their son, Caleb, were pronounced dead when their bodies were found last week, days after the family was killed on July 4, the Interior Ministry of Georgia announced Monday.

Police began searching for the family last Friday after someone notified them that the Smiths and their son, all of whom have dual citizenship in Georgia and the U.S., were missing. Authorities began searching Khada Gorge, the Dusheti region of Georgia, and found a car and personal belongings in Tskere village.

On the same day, Lora Smith’s body was found at the edge of a waterfall with “no traces of violence.” Ryan Smith’s body was discovered the next day.

An autopsy revealed Ryan Smith died from a gunshot wound.

Officials arrested a 19-year-old man, who they believed had shot Ryan Smith and Caleb with a hunting rifle. The suspect then hid the 4-year-old’s body. Smith’s wife fell into a ravine while trying to escape, officials said.

The shepherd later confessed to the murder and led police to the boy’s body, Agenda.GE reported. He was charged with premeditated murder and faces life in prison.

Officials believe the murder stemmed from a dispute between the shepherd and Ryan Smith, but authorities did not provide further information.

The couple had been living in the country for more than 10 years. They received their Georgian citizenship in 2012 and lived in Marneuli region, Agende.GE reported.

Merkley suggested Trump picked Kavanaugh because of the judge's past writings that argue a president should be shielded from ongoing investigations.

Trump tapped Kavanaugh, 53, to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who is retiring at the end of the month.

Prior to serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., Kavanaugh worked as a White House aide under former President George W. Bush, and for Kenneth Starr, the independent counsel who investigated former President Clinton in the 1990s.

In his legal writings, Kavanaugh has argued the president should be shielded from the demands of criminal and civil investigations because they interfere with his official duties.

Prior to Trump's announcement, Democrats expressed concerns over the nominee's role in any decisions involving special counsel Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Some lawmakers suggested Trump's nominee would have a conflict of interest in any court cases related to the investigation.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), argued Sunday that the Supreme Court may ultimately have to weigh in if Trump refuses to comply with a subpoena in the Mueller investigation, as his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has suggested.

Leonard Leo, who took a leave from the conservative group the Federalist Society to aide Trump with the Supreme Court pick, dismissed Democratic calls to delay the confirmation process until after Mueller concludes his investigation as a "red herring."

Giant dinosaur bones get archeologists rethinking Triassic period

Researchers admit the discovery of the giant dinosaur was a surprise

The Balde de Leyes site was first discovered in 2001 and started unearthing bone fragments in 2014

Several bone fragments from the neck, tail, fore and hind legs have been found

Ingenia prima weighed around the same as two or three African elephants

Giant dinosaurs lived on Earth much earlier than previously thought, according to a team of excavators in Argentina who discovered the remains of a 200-million-year old species.

The species, baptized Ingenia prima, was about three times the size of the largest Triassic dinosaurs from its era. It was discovered in the Balde de Leyes dig site in San Juan province, 1,100 kilometers (680 miles) west of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires.

The find was published in the specialist Nature Ecology & Evolution journal on Monday and revealed in Argentina by the La Matanza National University's Scientific Dissemination Agency.

"As soon as we found it, we realized it was something different. We found a shape, the first giant one among all the dinosaurs. That's the surprise," said Cecilia Apaldetti, a government and San Juan University researcher.

Excavators found several vertebrae from the neck and tail as well as fore and hind leg bones.

The species "exhibits a growth strategy that was unknown until now and indicates that gigantism originated much earlier than was thought," said Apaldetti, the study's co-author.

These were "herbivore dinosaurs, quadrupeds, easily recognizable by their very long neck and tail, and from the sauropod group," she added.

Before this discovery, it was thought that gigantism developed during the Jurassic period, around 180 million years ago.

Late Triassic

Fellow co-author Ricardo Martinez believes the Ingenia prima is from "a Late Triassic period, possibly 205 million years" ago.

The Triassic period extended from around 250-200 million years ago and the Jurassic from 200-145 million years ago.

The team has been studying the Triassic period, when dinosaurs were just beginning to appear. The first ones were small but as they evolved they tended towards gigantism to defend themselves against predators.

Super Mario 64 remains one of the most exciting, popular games to speedrun, and one streamer reminded the community why that is this weekend. Drozdowsky, who’s been sharing his record attempts on Twitch since earlier this year, became the first person in more than three years to set a new world record in Super Mario 64’s Any% 0-star category, a notoriously tough feat.

Drozdowsky spent four hours this weekend streaming his attempts to finish Super Mario 64 in under six minutes, 44 seconds. That’s how long it took Japanese player Akira to finish their playthrough back in 2015, a record that remained unbroken ever since. Now that world record is six minutes, 41 seconds — a seemingly tiny differential, but even three seconds is a huge difference when blazing through Super Mario 64.
