Cane sugar is the best.
HFCS is garbage.
Sugar beets aren't quite as good as Cane sugar.
and HFCS is worse than cane sugar.
The reason why the US has HFCS instead of cane sugar in things like soda is because of sugar tariffs in the US. In Europe, they use cane sugar and their food is better.
If Trump gets elected and puts tariffs on everything and removes the income tax, I'm good with the sugar tariff.
It's one thing to ban HFCS. Hard sell. It's easier to get rid of the cane sugar tariff, and coke and pepsi will go back to using cane sugar instead of HFCS. Right now, I'm drinking soda w/ cane sugar. Cane sugar soda is better than Pepsi with "real sugar" which is better than Pepsi with HFCS.
One of the problems with tariffs is that the tariffs cause manufacturers to substitute better for worse.
the things that people say about sugar - things like "cancer eats sugar" - are true. Sugar is carbs. cane sugar, hfcs, a potato, bread. Fat and protein are good, carbs are not. There really isn't any nutrition with carbs. Calories provide energy, but there's nothing like "fat soluble vitamins" w/ carbs.
