Artificial intelligence technology risks promoting Holocaust denial, a new study has found

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology could cause a surge in false narratives about World War II atrocities, including Holocaust denial, the UN education and culture body UNESCO has warned.

According to a report published in partnership with the World Jewish Congress on Tuesday, the generation of false content, such as deep fakes and misinformation, could undermine the authenticity of historical evidence and spread anti-Semitic ideologies.

The study pointed to the widespread use of AI for assistance in education, research and writing, which it said could result in an increased likelihood of unreliable data.

Deep-fake images and audio content created using Generative AI are particularly convincing for young people, who may encounter them on social-media platforms, the report cautioned.

With four in five young people between the ages of 10 and 24 now using AI several times a day for education, entertainment and other purposes, according to UN research, “action to ethically guide these new technologies must be taken quickly,” the report warns.

The report used the Historical Figures App as an example. The interface reportedly allowed users to chat with prominent Nazis such as Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels, and falsely claimed that individuals such as Goebbels were not intentionally involved in the Holocaust and had tried to prevent violence against Jews.

The report also said that ChatGPT and Google’s Bard have both produced content detailing Holocaust-related events that never took place.

“If we allow the horrific facts of the Holocaust to be diluted, distorted or falsified through the irresponsible use of AI, we risk the explosive spread of anti-Semitism…” said UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

UNESCO has called on governments to accelerate the implementation of the Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, which was unanimously adopted by its member states in 2021.

The UN agency has also urged tech companies to establish ethical rules for the development and use of AI in an effort to reduce the chances of unreliable information being generated and to prevent bad actors from spreading misinformation.

Ecuador Suspends China Visa Deal Amid Flood Of US-Bound Migrants

Ecuador is suspending a visa agreement with China amid a "worrying increase" in arrivals who are using the South American country as a jumpoff point to begin their northbound journey to the United States to take advantage of the criminally open border.

The mutual visa waiver program between the two countries has been in place since 2016, and grants visa-free travel to Chinese nationals. The only other South American nation with a similar agreement is Suriname.

According to the country's foreign ministry, nearly half of Chinese travelers entering Ecuador did not leave "through regular routes" or within the 90 days allotted, the Financial Times reports.

Many global migrants headed to the US land in Ecuador, which has fewer visa restrictions than other South American countries. The onward journey north includes the Darién Gap, a treacherous tract that separates Colombia and Panama. There, migrants are vulnerable to crime, sexual violence and the hazards of the jungle.

Last year the number of Chinese individuals attempting to enter the US through the southern border skyrocketed - with US Customs and Border Protection detaining over 37,000 Chinese nationals - a 10x increase from 2022.

Around 66,000 Chinese travelers entered Ecuador last year, while just 34,000 left via traditional channels, according to officials.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian gave a milquetoast response to FT, saying that the agreement with Ecuador "plays an important and positive role in promoting cross-border travel and practical co-operation in various fields between the two countries."

Lin added that China is working with other counties to combat human trafficking.

The suspended visa agreement will take effect July 1, according to Ecuadorean officials, who say the country "reiterates its commitment so that people who visit the country can do so with adequate security guarantees, preventing them from being victims of human trafficking or migrant smuggling."

China is Ecuador's largest non-oil trade partner, and has been a key source of financing for infrastructure and energy.

National Security Threat

On June 11, news broke that eight Tajikistan nationals with possible connections to the terrorist group ISIS had been arrested in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles in recent days. Tajikistan nationals were responsible for the March 22 attack on the Crocus City Hall concert near Moscow that left more than 140 people dead and hundreds injured.

The suspects crossed the U.S. southern border illegally in 2023 and were released after being vetted. The federal government’s screening process did not turn up any information that would have identified them as potential terrorists with ties to ISIS.

Last month, Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX), who sits on the National Security, the Border and Foreign Affairs subcommittee, held a classified hearing in May titled: “Intruder Alert: Assessing the CCP’s Ongoing Infiltration of U.S. Military Installations.”

Bill Gates Funded Bioweapons Experiments to Spread Bird Flu to Humans

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates invested millions of dollars in bioweapons experiments that sought to manipulate bird flu into jumping to mammals and spreading among humans.

The Gates Foundation gave $9.5 million to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and principal investigator Yoshihiro Kawaoka.

The funding paid for experiments to modify Avian Influenza H5N1 viruses to preferentially recognize human-type receptors and rapidly transmit in mammals.

Gates’s role in the experiments was highlighted by world-renowned cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough.

In a post on X, McCullough stated:

“The Gates Foundation money was also used in a project headed by both Yoshihiro Kawaoka and Ron Fouchier (he previously modified H5N1 to become airborne transmissible in ferrets at the Erasmus Medical Center), where they provided the two additional mutations that would be needed in Egyptian H5N1 viruses to create variants with the mammalian ‘transmissibility features’ identified in the Kawaoka study.

“This indicates that the Gates Foundation funded bioterrorist-like activities involving H5N1, providing blueprints for other bad actors who may want to create a bioweapon.”

Back in 2006, Kawaoka and colleague Taisuke Horimoto published a study aimed at developing new “vaccines” for H5N1 influenza A viruses, Natural News reports.

Top Dems sign off on biggest weapons sale to Israel to date

Cardin and Meeks had worried about the humanitarian toll. Not anymore.

The Washington Post this morning has reported that the top Democrats on the Armed Services Committees — Rep. Gregory Meeks (N.Y.), and Senator Ben Cardin (Md.) — have finally given their nod on the biggest arms sale to Israel since Oct. 7.

In fact, after holding it up for months they gave their approval "weeks ago." Now Congress will be formally notified.

The package includes 50 F-15s that won't arrive in Israel for years, along with surface-to-air missiles and Joint Direct Attack Munition kits, which retrofit unguided bombs with precision guidance, according to the paper. The package is worth $18 billion.

The two Democrats had been resistant to give their nods (the ranking Republicans gave their approval months ago) due in part to the continued blocking of aid in the strip. Meeks, according to the Post, told CNN in April that “I don’t want the kinds of weapons that Israel has to be utilized to have more deaths…I want to make sure that humanitarian aid gets in. I don’t want people starving to death, and I want Hamas to release the hostages. And I want a two-state solution.”

What changed his mind is a mystery as 1) there is less aid getting into Gaza than ever, and 2) U.S. weapons have been used in several mass casualty events on the ground in recent weeks as Israel has pushed into Rafah and has been bombarding central and southern Gaza, obliterating homes, shelters, and targeting refugee encampments for the last month.

But we know there is enormous pressure on lawmakers who want the Biden administration to use its leverage — including $4 billion a year in military aid to pay for such weapons — to stop the civilian carnage Republicans have said that the administration is not giving the Israelis more missiles and ammo fast enough, calling it a "reprehensible" betrayal. Efforts to condition further aid have fallen largely by the wayside.

The administration has "paused" the transfer of 1,800 2,000-pound bombs and 1,700 500-pound bombs due to recent events but are already consider "unpausing." The House has already passed a bill punishing the administration for holding back the weapons in the first place.

According to the Post, Meeks told the paper that he has been in “close touch” with the White House and “repeatedly urged the administration to continue pushing Israel to make significant and concrete improvements on all fronts when it comes to humanitarian efforts and limiting civilian casualties.” Cardin's office, for its part, said the package had gone through the "regular review processes."

Netanyahu Demands White House Give Him Tools to ‘Finish the Job’ in Gaza==

Israeli PM tells Secretary of State Antony Blinken it is “inconceivable” the US would withhold arms from Tel Aviv as it “fights for its life”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published a scathing video blasting the White House for holding back weapons shipments to Israel. Washington has blocked one transfer of 2,000-pound bombs but has overwhelmingly provided all the arms requested by Tel Aviv. The PM demanded the US supply the tools Israel needs to “finish the job a lot faster” in the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, Netanyahu posted the video to his X account. Speaking in English, the PM said “When Secretary Blinken was recently here in Israel, we had a candid conversation. I said I deeply appreciate the support the US has given Israel from the beginning of the war. But I also said something else. I said it is inconceivable that in the past few months, the administration has been withholding weapons and ammunition to Israel.”

In late April, the White House decided it would suspend the shipment of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel over concerns about civilian deaths in Gaza. However, President Joe Biden suggested that he would cut off additional arms transfers if Israeli forces proceeded with a full-scale invasion of Rafah. Over a month after that assault began, Biden has failed to follow through on his supposed red line.

According to Netanyahu, the White House will likely reverse course on its vow to scale back this military aid. “Secretary Blinken assured me that the administration is working day and night to remove these blocks. I certainly hope that is the case. It should be the case,” he explained in the video.

The Israeli leader concluded his message by demanding Biden remove all restrictions on weapons so he could quickly wrap up operations in Gaza. “In WWII Churchill told the US, ‘Give us the tools we’ll do the job.’” He added, “And I say, ‘give us the tools and we will finish the job a lot faster.’”

Throughout the latest conflict with Hamas, top Israeli officials have repeatedly invoked allied war crimes committed during the Second World War in cities like Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki to justify the onslaught in Gaza.

The White House and Secretary of State Antony Blinken denied that the Biden administration was holding up arms shipments to Israel. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “We genuinely don’t know what he is talking about.”

Blinken explained only one shipment of 2,000-pound bombs is under review. “We, as you know, are continuing to review one shipment that President Biden has talked about with regard to 2,000-pound bombs because of our concerns about their use in a densely populated area like Rafah,” he added, “But everything else is moving as it normally would move and, again, with the perspective of making sure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself against this multiplicity of challenges.”
