Expert view: This one thing about Trump shooting is very suspicious
The US Secret Service needs to explain something about its response to Saturday’s attempted assassination

On Saturday, 20-year-old Pennsylvanian Thomas Crooks fired three shots from a rifle and was almost immediately hit by return fire from US Secret Service snipers. The country’s former President Donald Trump suffered a minor wound to his right ear,but literally looked death in the face.
Apparently, Trump was saved by turning his head to the right, in the direction of the would-be assassin. He had already made this move when Crooks pulled the trigger and the bullet flew towards him at an initial velocity of more than 1,100 meters per second. According to a ballistic calculator, the bullet took 0.14 of a second to reach Trump’s ear.There was no way the shooter could have calculated the movement of his intended victim. Trump was only millimeters away from being fatally wounded. Even if he had turned at a slightly different angle and the bullet had travelled 10-20 mm to the right, the former US president would have been seriously wounded and out of the running for power in the US for a long time, if not forever.
The next two shots were automatic and missed, indicating poor shooting skills and an inability to control himself under stress.
The presidential candidate himself heard the shots half a second later, apparently at the same time as he felt the pain of the wound.The speed of a bullet is three times the speed of sound. By this time, a projectile had already hit the next victim. We can assume that the shooter was able to hit several targets with one shot. But that’s not because of any ability on Crooks’ part, it’s the result of the large crowd at the rally.
What was striking, however, was the lightning response of the secret service snipers. They opened fire with at least two rifles in just over three seconds. This is an excellent result. And it would be even in a shooting competition where the target and distances are known, and the command ‘fire’ is given.
So, it’s clear that Special Forces snipers had Crooks in their crosshairsby the time the shots were fired.
So why didn’t they open fire sooner? And why did they let the shooter get so close and not respond to eyewitness reportsof a strange man with a gun?
(When a Russian gun expert is asking questions, it’s obvious he knows why they allowed this, he’s insinuating what we all know. The world knows by now. Will anyone be punished or prosecuted?)

‘Ukrainian connection’ possible in Trump shooting – opposition leader
Vladimir Zelensky has a motive to see Donald Trump dead, Viktor Medvedchuk has said
The assassination attempt on US presidential candidate Donald Trump may have been tied to Ukraine, Viktor Medvedchuk has said in a letter to the former US president and Republican candidate.
Trump narrowly escaped death at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania this weekend, when an assassin’s bullet injured his ear. The attacker, a 20-year-old American, was killed by the Secret Service. His motives have not been officially disclosed.
“Dear Mr. Trump,
you have become a personal enemy of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi [Vladimir] Zelensky, and this scoundrel will stop at nothing to prevent you from winning the presidential election,”
Medvedchuk wrote on Tuesday.
“I think that there will be a Ukrainian trace in the case of the assassination attempt on you.”
According to Medvedchuk, the current government in Kiev has an interest in prolonging the conflict, because ending it would bring into question their legitimacy.Zelensky’s “criminal regime” would lose US support when Trump returns to the White House and faces “deserved punishment for its crimes,” he wrote.
“The day before the assassination attempt on you, Mr. President, the head of Ukrainian military intelligence stated that the Ukrainian authorities had attempted to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin, and a few days earlier, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine promised to destroy Ukrainians who advocate peace with Russia,” Medvedchuk told Trump.
The Republican presidential nominee has repeatedly said he would negotiate a swift end to the Ukraine conflict. Doing so, however, would mean “the loss of power by the Nazi regime of Zelensky and his American curators from the Biden administration,” Medvedchuk also noted.
Trump was already ahead in the polls after the June 27 debate, which caused upheaval in the Democratic party and calls to replace President Joe Biden on the ticket with someone else. The Republican’s popularity surged following the failed assassination attempt.
Zelensky said on Monday that he was “not afraid” of a change of power in Washington, because his government had “a strong relationship with the Republican side of Congress and the US political class.”
Medvedchuk was the leader of the party Opposition Platform – For Life, the second-largest group in the Ukrainian parliament, until his arrest in April 2022. The party was banned three months later, and Medvedchuk was sent to Russia in exchange for several Ukrainian POWs in September.

Hillary Clinton says she’d support Ukrainian attacks on Trump
The former US Secretary of State says Kiev is right to be concerned if the Republican prevails over Biden
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has signaled her support if Ukraine attempted to dig up dirt on GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump. She made the comment in a phone call with Russian prankster duo Vovan and Lexus, one of whom posed as ex-Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko.
According to a recording of the conversation made public on Wednesday, Clinton and the man she believed to be Poroshenko discussed the political landscape in the US leading up to the November election, as well as the potential repercussions of a Trump victory for both Kiev and Washington. Trump has repeatedly criticized the way the administration of US President Joe Biden has handled the Ukraine conflict, saying he would end hostilities within 24 hours if elected and stop sending unconditional financial support to Kiev.
Clinton said that she is “doing everything” she can to secure Biden’s reelection, while acknowledging that those efforts come at “a very difficult time in this country.” Her comments followed a recent television debate between Biden and Trump, widely seen as a disaster for the incumbent.
The former presidential candidate, who lost the 2016 election to Trump, described her former rival as “very dangerous,” adding that he “would be very bad for the United States as well as for… Ukraine,” and that Kiev was right to be concerned.

Later in the conversation, ‘Poroshenko’ offered to “request a hearing in the [Ukrainian] parliament to find something on him [Trump] before the election,” recalling that the 45th president is already facing serious legal trouble in the US. “I think we can attack him from different sides,” the prankster suggested.
Clinton seemed to like the idea. “Good. Anything you could do, attack him, I’m all for it, because he is a very dangerous man,” she responded. ‘Poroshenko’ then followed up with a suggestion to “send my people in the US,” without clarifying what he meant, but the former secretary ignored this proposal.
Biden and Trump faced-off on June 27, with the US president widely being perceived as incoherent and fumbling. According to several reports, many prominent Democrats and party donors are scrambling to find a replacement for Biden.
Meanwhile, Trump is heading into the election as the only former or current US president to be convicted of a crime. In May, the GOP frontrunner was found guilty of falsifying business records stemming from an alleged ‘hush money’ payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, with whom Trump allegedly had an affair. The ex-president maintains his innocence and has denied being involved with Daniels.

Ukrainian MP named on state-backed ‘kill list’
Mariana Bezuglaya has been accused of discrediting the nation’s military by verbally attacking generals
Notorious Ukrainian website Mirotvorets has blacklisted MP Mariana Bezuglaya for repeatedly targeting the country’s senior military officials.
The state-backed database was created to collect and track personal data of people whom anonymous moderators consider enemies of Ukraine. Some of those listed have been killed after being doxxed by the website.
Days earlier, the MP, who sits on the National Security, Defense and Intelligence committees, accused Ukraine’s top general, Aleksandr Syrsky, of mismanaging the army. The lawmaker claimed that the senior military official wanted to capitulate to Russia and prevent more competent officers from stopping that.
Bezuglaya, who is a member of Vladimir Zelensky’s Servant of the People party, was added to the “kill list” on Monday. Accusations against her include “interference with the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” “discreditation and demoralization” of the army, and working to cause a “split” in Ukrainian society.
Mirotvorets also claimed that the MP had leaked state secrets that Russia could use to its benefit. The website added that Bezuglaya had deliberately projected an image of an “irredeemably stupid f**king fool” as part of her subversive ploy.
Bezuglaya has a record of verbally attacking Ukrainian generals, including Syrsky’s predecessor, Valery Zaluzhny. Zelensky fired the top commander in February, after he publicly acknowledged that attempts to push Russian forces back had resulted in a “stalemate,” contradicting the Ukrainian leader.
Following her allegations, Bezuglaya was stripped of her role as the head of a parliamentary subcommittee, but remains the deputy chair of the security committee. She has described the development as irrelevant and an attempt to punish her for “telling the truth.” Her inclusion on Mirotvorets was part of the same pressure campaign, she claimed.
The controversial online project was launched in 2014 and is strongly associated with Anton Gerashchenko, a former Ukrainian MP and adviser to the Interior Ministry. The database features a number of prominent journalists and other public figures, including citizens of Western nations.
