SC Rep. Mace: ‘Biden is a national security risk,’ calls for cabinet to invoke 25th Amendment
U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-Isle of Palms, said the president’s cabinet needs to step in and have the vice president assume the duties as acting president for the sake of national security.
Mace’s comments came after President Joe Biden announced Sunday he would step aside from the Democratic nomination for president in this year’s election.
In a Zoom call with reporters Monday morning, Mace discussed her planned resolution to call on Vice President Kamala Harris, the favorite to secure the Democratic nomination for president, to invoke the 25th Amendment.
“Joe Biden, I believe, is a national security risk,” Mace said in the call.
The 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows a majority of the president’s cabinet and vice president to write to Congress that the president is unable to discharge the duties of the office. The vice president would then take over in an acting capacity.

Operatives at the very highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he stepped down, sources told The Post.
The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, according to the sources.
Part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the race – as he announced in a shock letter posted on X Sunday – was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta.
During the car crash 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed and at one point he froze up, with his shocking performance turning the tide against him.
“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday.
As calls for him to bow out mounted, Biden insisted he would continue, but party bigwigs threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution….
