Windfall: FBI Pays $2M To Strzok, Ex-Lover For Released Anti-Trump Texts

The FBI will pay disgraced former FBI official Peter Strzok and his former lover Lisa Page millions in a settlement over the release of their anti-Trump text messages, CNN reported on Friday.

Strzok will receive $1.2 million, while Page will get $800,000 after the bureau released email exchanges that exposed their anti-Trump bias during the 2016 presidential campaign. Such bias ultimately ignited the now-defunct Russian collusion hoax probe.

The infamous messages between Page and Strzok, both married at the time, showed them discussing ways to “stop” Trump, whom they labeled an “idiot.” The two also backed Hillary Clinton, the twice-failed presidential candidate, in text messages.

The disturbing display of bias fueled concerns about political bias and discriminatory behavior against Trump, reaching a climax after FBI agents aggressively raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in 2022.

The messages were first released by then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to counter selective leaks undermining public trust in the DOJ. Fast forward to 2024, the settlement stipulates that the release of the messages violated the Privacy Act.

Despite his own bias, Strzok claimed that the FBI released his text messages for political purposes.

“While I have been vindicated by this result, my fervent hope remains that our institutions of justice will never again play politics with the lives of their employees,” he claimed, ignoring the bias he exhibited during the Mueller investigation.

Special Counsel John Durham, appointed in 2020 by then-Attorney General Bill Barr, revealed that Strzok opened the investigation into allegations of Russian collusion despite his “hostile feelings toward Trump.”

Moreover, Durham’s report highlighted that the investigation, known as Crossfire Hurricane, was initiated without interviewing those who provided the initial information or assessing internal FBI intelligence.

“Had it done so,” Durman noted, the FBI would have learned there was no evidence to back the Steele Dossier’s allegations.

“The speed and manner in which the FBI opened and investigated Crossfire Hurricane during the presidential election season based on raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence also reflected a noticeable departure from how it approached prior matters involving possible attempted foreign election interference plans aimed at the Clinton campaign,” Durham wrote in its final report.

Hezbollah “crossed all lines” with a rocket attack that killed ten people, Israel Katz has said

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has vowed to launch a “disproportionate” response after Hezbollah allegedly killed ten people in a rocket attack on a football field in the Golan Heights. The incident has brought Israel to the brink of “all-out war” with the group, Katz has warned.

Most of the dead were children, and more than a dozen were injured by the strike in the town of Majdal Shams on Saturday, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) blamed the attack on “the Hezbollah terror group.”

“There is no doubt that Hezbollah crossed all red lines,” Katz told Israel’s Channel 12 News. “We are facing an all-out war” with the group, he continued, adding that Israel “will respond disproportionately.”

Katz said that he would “not go into detail” on what such a response would look like, but claimed that Israel has the “full backing” of the US and Europe to escalate against Hezbollah.

Harris VP Contender Mark Kelly Founded Surveillance Balloon Company With Funding From Chinese Venture Capitalist

Amid the fallout of President Joe Biden’s sudden announcement dropping out of the presidential race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, there’s talk that Senator Mark Kelly may be her pick for running mate — despite his ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

After his retirement from NASA, Kelly cofounded World View Enterprises in 2012: a Tucson-based aerial surveillance company that contracts with the federal government and has received funding from Tencent Holding Unlimited, one of China’s largest tech companies connected to the CCP.

Until China’s estimated millions in investments, the company had been focused on commercial space exploration. After, the company shifted its focus to surveillance balloons capturing enhanced imagery of the earth.

With rising concerns over the company’s involvement with the CCP during Kelly’s initial Senate campaign, World View Enterprises President and CEO Ryan Hartman and their spokesmen have denied Tencent Holding Unlimited having enjoyed any access, input, or control over their company.

Kelly served as a strategic advisor to the company from 2015 to 2019, and maintained his holdings through 2020.

Tencent’s U.S. representative donated several thousand to Kelly’s campaign in 2019.

Kelly also received a donation from a lobbyist out of Huawei Technologies, a communications technology company with close ties to the CCP. The donation came in despite Kelly’s pledge to avoid PAC donations using a loophole of technicalities. The senator was able to receive Huawei Technologies donation by advising wealthy corporate donors to issue donations through personal checks, not corporate PAC checks, so as to keep him true to his word in the loosest sense.

Then, in 2022, Kelly’s six-figure investment in another aerospace company selling U.S. technology to China, Boom Technology, was reported on. Kelly was seated on the Senate Armed Services Committee, which oversees the Pentagon’s budget, and the Airland Subcommittee, which oversees the Air Force’s research budget. Boom Technology enjoyed an increased contract with the federal government after Kelly took office.

And yet, Kelly has spoken and acted in ways that appear in conflict with Chinese interests. He has openly declared China as one of the biggest threats to the U.S. in interviews with the media.

Earlier this year, Kelly cosponsored a bipartisan bill banning U.S.-based facilities receiving CHIPS and Science Act funds from buying chipmaking equipment from companies owned or controlled by China, Russia, North Korea, or Iran. Kelly has supported the advancement of Taiwanese-produced microchips, especially the manufacturing taking place in Arizona.

Last year, Kelly introduced bipartisan legislation to “block” military knowledge from being given to China and other adversaries. Kelly has also issued vocal opposition to the CCP’s takeover of Taiwan, most recently at the latest McCain Institute Sedona Forum.

Kelly isn’t the only rumored horse in the race for vice president. There’s also a slew of governors rumored as considered per a vetting process: Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro, North Carolina’s Roy Cooper, Kentucky’s Andy Beshear, Illinois’ JB Pritzker, North Carolina’s Roy Cooper, and Minnesota’s Tim Walz.

Though included on some lists of candidates, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer told reporters earlier this week that she wouldn’t accept the offer to run.

Biden administration members are also being considered: Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

However, some reporting has placed Kelly, Shapiro, and Cooper on the shortlist, citing sources familiar with a vetting team led by former attorney general Eric Holder’s law firm.

Reports also suggest that the Harris campaign is considering unnamed individuals who don’t hold an elective office.

“CopenPay” – Europe’s first Climate-centric Social Credit Scheme

The world’s first climate-related social rewards scheme came into being two weeks ago, when the city of Copenhagen officially launched it’s new “CopenPay” system.

Through the CopenPay scheme, tourists visiting the city will be rewarded for “green actions” – such as using public transportation or cycling – with access to “cultural experiences”, free meals etc.

For example, arriving at the CopenHill dry ski slope by foot or on a bike will get you 20 free minutes of ski time, while anyone who volunteers at an organic urban farm will get a free lunch (vegetarian, naturally).

The official CopenPay website describes the purpose of the system as follows:

…to encourage sustainable behaviour and enrich the cultural experience of visitors and residents in Copenhagen by transforming green actions into currency for cultural experiences.

WonderfulCopenhagen.com adds:

There is a need to change the mindset of tourists and encourage green choices […]Through CopenPay we therefore aim to incentivize tourists’ sustainable behaviour while enriching their cultural experience of our destination. It is an experimental and a small step towards creating a new mindset […] The hope is not only to continue the pilot project, but also to inspire other cities around the world to introduce similar initiatives.

Now, complimentary organic meals and free windsurfing lessons might seem benign enough, but any talk of “changing mindset” and/or “encouraging behaviour” makes my brain itch.

It’s pretty easy to see through the happy-clappy tone of the promotion to the heart of the issue, it’s right there in their own words: Transforming green actions into currency.

This is climate change based behavioral modification. This is a social credit system. Small scale and optional, sure, but there’s no denying that’s what it is.

For now it’s optional and only for tourists. They are testing the waters. Barring a catastrophic failure it won’t stay that way for long. They likely won’t ever make it mandatory to take part, rather – like bank accounts and cellphones – opting out will simply be too difficult for most people to bother with.

Eventually “rewarding green actions” will segue into “punishing non-green actions”. The currency of “cultural experiences” replaced with actual currency.

This isn’t guesswork. We don’t have to guess where this leads, because we know. They told us. They laid out the world they want to build, and this is just one of the first bricks.

This has led to only 15 athletes from Russia and 18 from Belarus competing as "Individual Neutral Athletes," or AINs. They had to first demonstrate to an IOC review panel that they have never expressed support for Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. Further they had to show that they don't have any affiliations with sports clubs tied to Russia’s military.

This has led some pundits to point out a glaring double standard: Israel's invasion of Gaza has by any estimate resulted in far more civilian deaths than the Ukraine war, yet the IOC has not considered banning Israeli athletes.

Testing of 13 brands of facial tissues reveals half of them contain “forever chemicals”

Mamavation tested 13 facial tissue brands for PFAS “forever chemicals” sold in the USA and found that 46% showed indications of PFAS, with 66% of products with PFAS indications being advertised as bamboo-based. All products with PFAS indications claimed some form of environmentally friendly feature or certification.

Some of these brands are known internationally, such as Kleenex.

Over several years, Mamavation has conducted studies on various consumer products, including makeup, cookware, food packaging and cleaning products, to identify PFAS contamination and safer alternatives. In June, Mamavation published an article about their investigation into facial tissues.

For investigations which include laboratory testing, Mamavation uses an EPA-certified laboratory to test for a marker that identifies the potential presence of PFAS “forever chemicals.” Organic fluorine is a marker for PFAS because all PFAS chemicals are carbon-based compounds that contain fluorine, Mamavation says.

PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are a group of over 10,000 synthetic (man-made) chemicals used in various everyday products since the 1940s. PFAS forever chemicals pose significant health and environmental risks. They are known as “forever chemicals” due to their persistence in the environment and human bodies, with estimated degradation times ranging from hundreds to thousands of years.

According to a 2022 article published by The Guardian, the chemicals have a relatively low profile in the UK, but PFAS has become a household term in the US.

Humans are primarily exposed to PFAS through consuming contaminated water or food, using products made with PFAS or breathing air containing PFAS. Studies have linked PFAS exposure to cancer, reproductive and immune system harm and other diseases. In America, these forever chemicals are found in the blood of virtually everyone, including newborn babies.

Environmental impacts of PFAS contamination include threatening soil health, bioaccumulating in wildlife and humans, and posing a mounting chemical pollution crisis.

After the sale, Henry now owns 183,091 shares of the company, which specializes in cloud-delivered protection of endpoints, cloud workloads, identity and data, according to Yahoo! Finance. CrowdStrike exists to prevent the types of breaches that occurred over the weekend with the crippling of global tech platforms.

Over the past year, Henry unloaded 85,986 shares of CrowdStrike at various intervals. During the same time period, Henry did not make a single purchase of CrowdStrike shares.

Henry is not the only person at CrowdStrike who followed this same MO. A total of 48 insiders at CrowdStrike sold shares over the past year. Not a single one of them made any share purchases during the same time period.

'Horrifying' Israeli strike on girls' school in Gaza kills at least 30

“I am so lucky to have survived,” Fadel Keshko, a 22-year-old man who was staying in the school with his sick grandmother and nephew, told Middle East Eye.

“The building I took shelter in was directly targeted. The distance between me and the rocket was just a metre away. I am horrified and terrified.”

Keshko and his relatives have since fled to Khan Younis, where the Israeli army is currently attacking areas previously designated as humanitarian zones.

As thunderous applause rang out for the murderer, there were thousands of people outside trying to signal to the millions of people in Palestine that their turmoil isn’t being ignored.

There’s no mention of their duty to the people in the oath of office that members of Congress take. It says they will support and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Maybe, in some regard defending the Constitution would mean doing their job: representing the people that elected them. But today, the architect of the genocide against the Palestinian people walked in and out of the “people’s house” to a standing ovation. He was given more time with our lawmakers than any of us will ever get in our lifetime and he used it to insist he was a good man that was commanding a moral army – insisting they have not killed anyone who did not deserve to have their life ended in the blink of an eye.

There are one thousand indications that our government has no obligation to us. This moment was just one – but it was one I will never let slip my mind. These people are no different than the settlers that gather in lawn chairs, eat popcorn, and cheer when the Israeli military drops bombs on apartment complexes in Gaza. For as long as they’ve been in office, they’ve had a front row seat to the carnage and all they do is gawk and cheer from the sidelines. Every once in a while, someone they are supposed to work for pesters them about their complacency and we are swatted away like flies.

The majority opinion in the United States is against continued support for Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. Stories come out every week that push the needle further. Last week, the story of Muhammad Bhar surfaced and was circulated around the world. Muhammad was my age, 24, and had Down Syndrome. The Israeli military raided his home and let their dog attack him, tearing his arm to shreds. They separated him from his family, and left him in a room all by himself. They ordered his family to leave the house and left Muhammad to die – alone, bleeding, and scared. His family found Muhammad starting to decompose in the room the soldiers left him in. He still had a tourniquet on his arm from when they tried to stop the bleeding. And they just left him there, like he was nothing.

The Israeli military confirmed this story days later and Netanyahu gets a round of applause for his courage and leadership. They don’t even feel the need to lie to the world about their atrocities anymore – letting babies suffocate to death in incubators months ago was the litmus test for what the United States would let slide. Ordering an attack dog on a man with Down Syndrome and locking him in a room to die without his loved ones there to console him wasn’t the red line – because there will never be one.

They gave a standing ovation.

If a man like Benjamin Netanyahu had walked through their home and mangled their children’s bodies so much that they could never forget the way they looked afterward – I wonder if they would applaud still. I wonder if the screams of their family members burning alive in tents would potentially interrupt the thought that told them to clap, the thought that told them to give the man a standing ovation for his perfectly executed slaughter of thousands of human beings.

Some part of me still wanted to believe that these people may still be completely misled – that perhaps they don’t know about the 15,000 children that have been killed. Maybe they haven’t seen what I’ve seen – the little girl with her face falling off, the boy with a missing head, the child with no legs, the mother unwilling to wash her children’s blood off her hands because it is all that is left of them. Maybe they haven’t seen it at all. As thunderous applause rang out for the murderer, there were thousands of people outside trying to signal to the millions of people in Palestine that their turmoil isn’t being ignored. They were pepper sprayed, beaten, and arrested by cops that were trained in Israel.

When I saw the video of the standing ovation, something sunk in me – this is where I was born. This is where both of my parents were born. I have no nation to be loyal to but a nation tripping over themselves to kill my friends’ families. There is bloodlust in the US Congress – and bloodlust seems like the only thing they are loyal to. If there are “enemies” foreign and domestic, I fear they view us as the latter.

I clap for my friends at their comedy shows. I clap for people after they finish a speech at a community event. I sometimes clap when the plane lands, if someone else does it first. To clap for an executioner of children, mothers, fathers and friends – how much did they sell their souls for?

More than 200 Christian leaders sign letter calling for cease-fire in Gaza

The letter comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits the U.S., where he is expected to address Congress on Wednesday and meet with President Joe Biden on Thursday.

More than 200 Christian leaders from an array of traditions have signed a letter calling for a permanent cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war and the release of hostages taken by Hamas, as well as a list of other measures aimed at providing relief in Gaza.

"We speak out as Christian leaders with a deep concern for the common good for all affected by war and conflict without exception," reads the letter, which was organized by Churches for Middle East Peace, a coalition of Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox churches based in Washington.

“We speak with urgency. We speak in a spirit of peace. We speak because we are deeply inspired by the courageous and selfless commitment of our Palestinian Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, who suffer alongside their Muslim and Jewish neighbors and remain resolutely determined to help bring about a just and dignified future for all inhabitants of these lands."

Besides a cease-fire and the return of hostages, the letter goes on to call for "the release of Palestinian prisoners held without due process," as well as a free flow of humanitarian aid and a halt on shipping arms into the region.

"Without decisive action now, the consequences of this drift to deeper, broader, and more entrenched conflict will be more destruction and loss of innocent lives," the authors said. "It is time for the international community, as well as Israeli, Palestinian, and regional decision makers, to act. Our common humanity demands it."

The letter comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits the U.S., where he is expected to address Congress on Wednesday (July 24) and meet with President Joe Biden on Thursday. A cover letter from CMEP addressed to Biden implores him to use Netanyahu’s visit to annul "monetary and diplomatic cover for Israel to continue its military assault on the people of Gaza."

Among the signers of the letter were Roman Catholic Cardinal Alvaro Ramazzini, bishop of Huehuetenango in Guatemala, and Bishops Steven Biegler of the Diocese of Cheynne in Wyoming, Stephen Lowe of the Diocese of Auckland in New Zealand, Christian Carlassare of the Diocese of Rumbek in South Sudan and Coffi Roger Anoumou of the Diocese of Lokossa in Benin.

The presidents of the Maryknoll Sisters and the Sisters of St. Joseph Philadelphia, both orders of nuns, also signed.

Among the Protestants signing the letter were the presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, bishops of the United Methodist Church, the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, Community of Christ, the Church of England and the Anglican Church of Sri Lanka.

In addition, the stated clerk of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the general secretary of the Reformed Church in America, a conference minister in the United Church of Christ and the clerk of Britain Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) signed it.

The heads of the National Council of Churches, Pax Christi Korea, the Asian American Christian Collaborative and The Witness, A Black Christian Collective, also signed the letter.

The letter warned that the conflict has the potential to expand into the surrounding region, including the possibility of full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah. It also cautioned that as nonviolent resistance to decades of occupation is continuously met with "unjustified violence," individuals will increasingly turn to armed resistance.

"The window for constructive dialogue between combatant parties is rapidly closing. It will be replaced by more violence and further erosion of hope and trust," said the letter.

Trump tells Christians they won't have to vote after this election

Trump's remarks on Friday pointed to the need for both parties to energize their base voters ahead of what will likely be a closely fought election, for Trump that means his evangelical base.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told Christians on Friday that if they vote for him this November, "in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote."

It was not clear what the former president meant by his remarks, in an election campaign where his Democratic opponents accuse him of being a threat to democracy, and after his attempt to overturn his 2020 defeat to President Joe Biden, an effort that led to the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for clarification of his comments.

Trump was speaking at an event organized by the conservative group Turning Point Action in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump said: "Christians, get out and vote, just this time. "You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians."

He added: "I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote," Trump said.

In an interview with Fox News in December, Trump said that if he won the Nov. 5 election he would be a dictator, but only on "day one," to close the southern border with Mexico and expand oil drilling.

Democrats have seized on that comment. Trump has since said the remarks were a joke.

A look into Israel's spy tactics in Lebanon, and how it is killing terrorists one by one

To guard against Israeli spying, Hezbollah has taken many precautions with Lebanon's residents, as well as members of its organization.

Israel has used its technologically-savvy intelligence-gathering capabilities to keep an eye on Hezbollah-dominated parts of Lebanon for a long time. Its tactics include flying drones, intercepting phone calls, and gathering intelligence on social media, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Israel has planted spying devices disguised as rocks or pieces of trash and tapped into the secure fiber-optic landline network that Hezbollah built in Lebanon following the 2006 war.

According to Gen. Mounir Shehadeh, “It’s logical the resistance will have losses because Israel has satellites, spying technologies and the cooperation of intelligence services from other countries.” He has served as the Lebanese government’s coordinator to the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. The term “resistance” refers to pro-Iranian governments and terrorist organizations that are opponents of the US and Israel.

Shehadeh said Israel has gained access to private landline and cellphone numbers and has used voice-print and facial-recognition technologies to track targets.

Guarding against Israel's watch

To guard against Israeli spying, Hezbollah has told Lebanon’s residents to turn off online connections with security cameras in front of their homes in case of attempted hacking. It also provided instructions for people to stop taking and posting photos with their smartphones. For members of the terrorist organizations, it prohibited using smartphones, calling on members to rely on papers and only use codes for messages on their landlines.

“Turn it off … put it in a steel box and lock it in there for a week, two weeks, a month,” said Hezbollah General Secretary Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah in a speech in February, according to the Los Angeles Times report. “God knows how long this situation will last.”

Israel has still managed to spy on Hezbollah operatives regardless of Hezbollah's efforts, leading the group to believe there is an informant in their midst.

Experts still say that Israel relies more on spying through electronic channels than from local informants, the report stated.

“The nature of the ongoing war is based on a huge information database Israel is exploiting in its operations,” Ali Al-Amin told the Times. He is an analyst, critical of Hezbollah.

He also said that the Lebanese terrorist organization’s security is so tight that Israel would almost have to be getting its information from insiders.

Since October, nearly 400 Hezbollah members and more than 100 Lebanese civilians have died in the fighting.
