The Democratic National Committee (DNC) officially nominated Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s presidential candidate on Friday, alienating 14 million Democrats who voted for President Joe Biden during the Democrat primary. The DNC began its virtual roll call on Thursday to nominate Harris, preempting its convention later in August. Politico has reported that David Plouffe, who served as Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, will now join the Kamala Harris campaign as a Senior Adviser. Plouffe served as Obama’s campaign manager in 2008 and as his senior White House adviser in 2012. The new hire of Plouffe comes weeks after Harries allies have urged the Harris campaign to hire “a fresh set of eyes.”
