Chairman Jordan Seeks Documents from Over 40 Companies Involved in GARM's Corporate Collusion

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent letters toover 40 companies seeking documents related to their involvement in corporate collusion through the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM). In July, the Committee released an interim staff report titled "GARM's Harm: How the World's Biggest Brands Seek to Control Online Speech," which details how large corporations, advertising agencies, and industry associations—through the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and specifically its GARM initiative—participated in boycotts and coordinated actions to demonetize platforms, podcasts, news outlets, and other content that GARM and its members deem disfavored.

The Committee's oversight has shown that GARM has deviated significantly from its original intent and has collectively used its immense market power to demonetize voices and viewpoints the group disagrees with—even intervening in situations that do not have a so-called "brand safety" concern.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability released an interim staff report titled, "The Scandal Around the Biden-Harris Administration's Site-Selection Process for a New FBI Headquarters." Thereport highlights the scandalous process leading up to the General Services Administration's (GSA) decision to select Greenbelt, Maryland, as the location for the new Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) headquarters building. While GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan has defended the process as "fair" and "transparent," and dismissed bipartisan criticism of the process as "without merit,"the site-selection process has devolved into scandaland resulted in FBI Director Christopher Wray rebuking GSA's tainted process.

Since launching the investigation, the Committees have reviewed over 7,500 documents from both GSA and FBI, conducted two transcribed interviews, and received several briefings about the site-selection process for the new FBI headquarters.The documents and testimony reveal the process was tainted by politics from the start. For example:

•The GSA political appointee who served as the site-selectionauthority was the third site-selection authority for the FBI headquarters project and was the only political appointee of the three. According to an FBI official, her selection for this role contradicted an earlier statement made by Administrator Carnahan that only career GSA officials would run the site-selection process.

• The GSA political appointee ordered a "back-check" meeting soon after the panel had already agreed to recommend Springfield, Virginia, as the new headquarters site. During this meeting, the political appointee showed favorability toward the Greenbelt site, which isowned by her former employer—the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. (WMATA).

• GSA politicized the site-selection process bygiving significant weight to criteriameant to further the Biden-Harris Administration's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion(DEI) initiatives.

The entire site-selection process is emblematic of how the political environment of the nation's capital has tainted federal law enforcement and eroded public trust in the FBI. Despite lingering concerns from the FBI, Congress, and the general public, GSA continues to defend the process and decision, and is moving forward with trying to acquire the Greenbelt site.

In place of another politicized headquarters in the National Capital Region, Congress ought to consider moving headquarters operations out of the Washington area.Fortunately, the FBI already possess as state of the art "second headquarters" at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, that could serve as a headquarters facilityfar from the political intrigue and political motivationsthat have plagued the FBI in recent times.

In addition, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability sent a letter to GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan about theerrors in GSA's prospectus report on the reported cost and leasing space for the proposed Greenbelt, Maryland FBI headquarters location.

TheCommittees believe that the current proposal for a new FBI headquarters is inadequate, ill-defined, and does not take into account the current requirements of the FBI. Accordingly, GSA should submit a prospectus that includes accurate and updated information on costs and scope and considers alternative solutions on locations that may better meet the FBI's current mission. Until such a prospectus is submitted and the concerns identified are addressed, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has insufficient information to call the prospectus up for Committee action.

Marcus shared in his post that he has 'broke[n] free' of his 'former version of [himself]'

Former president of PayPal David Marcus announced he has switched political parties and endorsed Donald Trump via X, the site formerly known as Twitter.The tech entrepreneur, who recently headed up Messenger at Meta, announced he was "crossing the Rubicon and backing the Republican Party" as well as the campaign of former President Trump.

In his lengthy post,Marcus cites an "eye-opening process of disenchantment, zero-basing lifelong beliefs, and rebuilding" in order to reach his ultimate conclusion. "I am crossing the Rubicon and backing the Republican Party and President Trump.Many — including a former version of myself — get trapped in a mental framework that becomes their identity and prevents them from radically evolving their thinkingwith new facts and information.I finally broke free from it," wrote Marcus.

"My journey has been a gradual political 180 from where I stood in every previous election. It has been an eye-opening process of disenchantment, zero-basing lifelong beliefs, and rebuilding from there." Marcus cited an anecdote where, in 2017, he was enlisted to raise $100 million from Silicon Valley for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in order to "prevent a repeat of Hillary Clinton’s inadequate, outdated 2016 campaign."Marcus was shocked to discover that the DNC only intended to use a "single-digit percentage" for tech purposes.

He also cites a 2019 incident after testifying on Meta's behalf at the Senate and the House. He recalls, "At the time, I still believed the mainstream idea that Democrats were all about serving the People. However,I was shocked to learn that, for the most part, Republicans cared more deeply about their constituents, while Democrats, in my experience, cared more about government power and control."

The former PayPal president posited, "this trend of spinning and manufacturing a parallel reality to serve the Dem agenda, solidified by complicit mainstream media, hit homewith theHunter Biden laptop story, thecoordinated vilification of President Trump and his followers, andPresident Biden’s cognitive decline— depriving voters of a voice in a proper primary. These examples displayed thehubris of the current Dem leadership."

"You must think the American people are fools to believe the spin on these issues.I despise this elite vs. general population ideology viscerally. This version of the Democratic Party is sidelining moderates and centrists and hasadopted an increasingly leftist ideology," wrote Marcus.

Marcus is aligned with Trump on technology innovations like crypto and AI as well as foreign policy — especially the Middle East. He opined, "On Iran, this administration is continuing a misguided Obama-era planto bring Iran closer to the West by unfreezing Trump-era sanctions, thus giving the Mollahs’ regime the ability to fund terrorism and pursue its anti-America, anti-Israel, and anti-Jewish agenda."

"I believe we need a President who is unequivocally pro: America, the Constitution, business, Bitcoin/crypto, innovation, Israel, small government, legal immigration, free speech, meritocracy, and common sense — and anti: regulatory proliferation, illegal immigration, unjust wars, Iran’s current regime, and domestic groups that oppose American values," he wrote.

"These issues are central to President Trump’s platform," asserted Marcus. The tech entrepreneurdoes not accept, however, the GOP's stance on "reproductive rights." Marcus completed his post by referencing the attempt on former President Trump's life at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

"It’s impossible to close this post without mentioning President Trump’s recent assassination attempt.The courage and resolve he displayed seconds after being hit by a bullet was awe-inspiring for his followers and detractors alike. This was a man, however imperfect, who, at that moment, incarnated the American spirit in the most vivid way, starting to bring a split nation together," he wrote.

"In this pivotal moment, confronted with the choices we have,I am endorsing and supporting a return to a Republican administration in 2025," the post concluded. Fellow tech entrepreneur Joe Lonsdale, founder of Palantir Technologies, commented, "Well said. Thank you for your intellectual courage."

AParis 2024 official has had his accreditation revokedfor appearing to make a hand gesture during the women’s street skate finals last weekend which can beinterpreted as “an expression of white supremacy”.

The man in question, who was wearing Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) kit but was later identified as a subcontractor, was standing behind athletes and coaches at La Concorde Urban Park on Sunday when he was twice spotted making the ‘OK’ hand sign, low and to his side, in the background of event footage.

The finger-and-thumb gesture – which is also a popular emoji – is generally used to show approval or that someone is OK.However, its use as a far-Right symbol is apparently on the rise.

According to a Brazilian journalist who brought the matter to the attention of Paris 2024 organisers, the man appeared to be watching himself on one of the big screens at the La Concorde Urban Park, trying to manoeuvre himself into position, before making the sign.

He was spotted doing it while Australian Chloe Covell was competing, and then again later while standing behind Japanese athlete Liz Akama.

It is unclear what his motives were.

A spokesperson for the IOC said: “The person in question has been identified and confirmed not to be a member of the OBS team. They are associated with one of its contractors. The contractor has been informed, consequently, the individual’s accreditation has been cancelled effective immediately.”

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which has since 2000 kept a “Hate on Display” list, with the aim of helping people recognise signs of extremism, said the signal had been used in recent times by the far-Right as a “sincere expression of white supremacy”.

According to the ADL, what started out as an online joke on 4Chan has become a “popular trolling tactic” from “right-leaning individuals, who often post photos to social media of themselves posing while making the gesture”.

The man accused of killing 51 people at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, made the sign when he was in court earlier this year. He has pleaded not guilty to murder.

The Brazilian journalist who reported the matter to Olympic organisers said the issue was “nothing new” in his country, citing a trial last year in which the judge overturned the acquittal of Filipe Martins, Special Advisor for International Affairs to the government of Jair Bolsonaro, of the crime of racism, after he used the hand gesture in the Senate in 2021.
