There are more guns than people in America. If even just 2% of Americans fight back any invading force is bound to be crushed. Plus the country is fucking massive, how are you going to occupy 20,000+ cities, towns and villages all across the country, let alone other secluded areas and farms? Maybe a few shithole cities may be taken but probably not for long before they collapse into bloody anarchy anyway.

If an invading force tried to go door to door in America they'd be shot at, maybe not by everyone but it certainly would happen and invaders would start to be killed off. Right now the only thing keeping invaders from the border from dying from gun shot wounds is because, for the most part, they are peaceful.
