for me the key to it is how he first came to be a politician, how he went into the air force at a later age, and also, given how good looking he was when he was young and muscular, and his propencity to hang around with the boys, and being a highly eligible bacholer until he was in his 40s and then marrying a central American . . .
clearly seemed to be to someone who is very male oriented and trying to cover it up.
to be in your 40s and so good looking and muscular really smacks of the obvious : closeted or other emotional issues.
so for me he seems gay, very gay, probably a meth addict, and probably has some young friends and he is most likely a 'catcher'.
but I have no proof.
He just strikes me as being gay, he's too pretty to not have been married, and he's too insane to not be on meth.

an air force guy who isn't married in their forties is often a closet case. Why is that? because women are attracted to authoritative men with life long pensions.
