there is only one d* for the thread where i picked up the bake - that would be BV taking out my posts by mistake

even with only relative timestamps, there is nothing in the board log that shows your post being individually deleted. Couldn't have been d* because timing doesn't work there either.
just wrote the BV who used d* to see if he remembers what was going on at that time
i recall bread was ghosted but full of both shills and notables, just concentrated on the bake
later saw that several BVs arrived at the same time, which can cause confusion, espec given the state of the server
if there are multiple users, makes it worse, almost burned up the server during an attack where 5 admins were removing spam at the same time
Server problems are currently considerable, worse than usual
Some of this is due to heavy shilling at times but there may be other attacks (have been told there's ddos attacks we don't even see).
Often get error messages. Could server malfunctions cause malfunctions in the board log? or fuck with the admin functions themselves, if too many admins are active at the same time?
re posting after breads are locked:
all Reporters can post in a locked thread, Reporter role was developed by Jim for his newsfeed board. Wanted Reporters to create threads for their locales that only they could access.
re the 'why' of what happened with the post:
no answer atm but reminds me of another ghost in the machine, where chunks of contiguous threads disappear from the catalog. have seen a number of times thru the years, i don't know what happens to them or whether they ever reappear.
Appreciate the feedback, can always ask q's or share info.

As you know, this is the second time the Japan thread has disappeared. The first time it was mistakenly deleted after one of the shills used the banner for a shill thread. This made it very easy to mistake the real thread for the fake one.
Ironically, it's because your thread is so active that it is vulnerable: because it is always at the top of the catalog. No doubt this is why the shill selected it to use at that time.

first, i found out yesterday that Vatican shill has been using banners from international threads lately. This is probably why your thread got deleted - because it looked like the shill imitator thread. Still do not know how. I did contact TripA but there have been communication problems, he has not replied.
Second,
i am sorry to inform you that BV was trying to remove spam from various threads and mistook some of the regular posts for spam. He did recover many or most of the posts, will post a cap soon (is having trouble posting on the japan thread, will switch from admin to regular server and try again). Otherwise, I will help.

Not familiar with the ban you're talking about, sounds like it was from a Global Volunteer clearing CP. If you're posting lolicon or linking to it, that's probably outside the bounds of what's ok on 8kun.
Whatever some therapists might say, in discussions on the net, it's at best a "gray" area legally, which means lolicon depictions or links to sites that permit them would likely be removed and the ip hash banned from this site. You'd have to contact Jim W, however, for details.
As for the /qresearch board, anything that shows or (links to sites showing) either photos or drawings of figures with childlike faces with sexually mature bodies would be treated as CP.

It's my impression that he relieved you as baker early am because he was concerned about you baking on dayshift prior to knowing correct formatting, timing or how to deal with the dough.
so lemme clue you into a couple of things

consistent formatting is important because of the way aggregators (and particularly, qresear.ch database) picks up notables and breads. if the formatting is off, bread won't make it into the database until corrected.
your buns must be formatted the same as other buns.

once you post a FINAL, you must bake RIGHT AWAY. can't post it, then not baker, because notables will be missed.

do not know what the dough problem was, do you? if you have any questions about how to add new buns or get rid of old ones, let me know.
When i learned to bake, i practiced on /comms board, suggest you do the same.
An experienced baker checked out my bakes before I baked on /qresearch.
Can you bake one in /comms so I can check the formatting, dough, etc? mebbe give feedback?

We are having problems in part due to changes in the system (some threads disappearing). Not sure if the disappearing images problem is related. Jim W knows, is working with engrs to figure out what's going on. Our archiving BV has also been working on restoring threads but problem is not yet resolved.
Am aware of the 'missing threads' problem. Have discussed again with Jim W. The down time last night was partially due to efforts to retrieve more data that was lost due to the previous failure of the backup generator to kick in during a power outage.

In the future, if you don't like a notable, best to carefully state the reasons. Your feedback may or my not change baker's decision, as always.The more compelling your argument, and the more civilly stated, the more likely you are to get at least a civil response. There have been periodic problems on 8 from the get-go, often from outside attacks (which btw are ongoing as we speak). Also Jim Watkins and his family are also subject to ongoing attacks, advertisers are very hard to come by. Don't think that Trump presidency means no more problems, there are still many enemies of this site out there. Jim's not getting any younger and there's just a shoestring budget. Still refuses to give an inch.
