Predictor: Trump gaining ground in Electoral College
A new election forecast bodes well for former President Donald Trump’s odds of winning the White House.
The Economist’s latest election forecast of the Trump-Kamala Harris race to 270 electoral votes found that the former president has a 50% chance of winning that clinching number on Nov. 5
The magazine’s latest model, updated Friday, saw Mr. Trump’s pathway to an Electoral College victory surge. Previously, The Economist had him at less than a 50% shot at securing the 270.
Now the model shows Mr. Trump capturing 264 electoral votes, up from its previous 257. That puts him on more equal footing with Vice President Harris.
The Economist’s model predicts she’ll win 274 electoral votes, lower than its previous estimate of 281.
