Culturally, no. You are right, America was founded primarily on values best expressed by Christianity. The WTC attacks also damaged that relationship. However, when you open your mind a bit, you can see that we are all telling the same stories and observing the Creation. It's just that we have our own lenses to view it through that are based on Geographic region, Genetics, and the native languages that we speak. This is how different demographics of people can be manipulated against one another. This is also why the Tower of Babel, (representing Universal Communication), was such a threat, IMHO.

Did you know that in the Nag Hamadi Codex his followers called Yeshua "Rabbi" which means teacher in Hebrew? Do you think teaching an American how to be a Buddhist might be different than teaching a Chinese or a Japanese individual how to be a Buddhist? Different cultures. I think that's important. Why are they called Abrahamic religions? Look at how eastern people view the swastika versus how modern-day western people view it?
