Truth propagates itself. It just doesn't come in the easy prepackaged form that rulers require in order to fit it nicely into their 'artificial world' circuit diagram, so they attempt to remove and replace it. Unfortunately for such egotistical pretenders, they are wholly incapable of actually creating such a fully artificial world themselves. Unfortunately for the rest of us, they'll still ruin everything in the vain attempt to escape reality.

Pretty sure the point is that the approval of those higher up is the only thing which can prevent such an outcome. Unfortunately for everyone, those higher up are not in any way perfect, and eventually even if you submit to avoid direct punishment, the world they've created still breaks and everyone suffers even MORE.
