Biscuits playing God can't just kill you. They need to somehow extract a confession that you're full of shit first, so they don't end up with a repeat of what happened two thousand years ago.
Makes sense to me though.
One would have to create a perfect, complete, copy of the universe in order to fully express a theory explaining it all. One can not create a complete simulation of a system WITHIN that same system. By necessity such a simulation will always lack some degree of detail compared to the complete picture.
Faith is necessary, eventually.

Do you need to know? I would suggest that someone who has a good handle on how to live could adapt to any situation regardless of what they do/don't know about prophecies and such.
Yea, I can't deny that it gets my attention too. I'm quite interested in how people many generations past could get a window into future events, and how accurate it may/may not be.

Pretty sure that in it's self is intended to alleviate fears of what AI can actually do. It's marketed as a failure, but even if it just regurgitates text, that's enough to control most chronically online people.
