Big dipper rotates around Polaris.

Polaris, also known as the North Star, is a special star located in the constellation Ursa Minor (Little Dipper). It is situated nearly aligned with the Earth’s rotational axis, making it appear stationary in the night sky while other stars appear to rotate around it. This unique position allows Polaris to serve as a reliable navigational aid, indicating the direction of true north.

Long exposure photography can capture images of Polaris as seen in this photo. The circular lines are stars captured by the long exposure. The stars appear to rotate Polaris, but the effect is really due to Earth's rotation.
