Pope Francis has opened a symbolic door inside a Roman prison, marking the first time a pope has opened a Holy Door in such a setting.
This "Sacred Portal" was located at Rebibbia prison.
The Pope invited all prisoners to look toward the future with hope and a renewed sense of confidence, describing himself as a “Pilgrim of Hope."
