In a bold move to transform Argentina into a global energy powerhouse,President Javier Milei introduced the "Argentine Nuclear Plan" on Friday, with the goal of harnessing nuclear energy as a core component of the nation's future. The plan outlines the construction of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), compact nuclear units designed to provide power to commercial sectors and other large-scale operations.

"After years of stagnation, nuclear energy is making a powerful comeback, and we are determined to lead, not follow," Milei declared confidently, emphasizing the country's abundant natural resources, skilled workforce, and Patagonia's cold climate, which he described as ideal for housing energy-intensive technologies like AI. He added that the plan "will give us energy sovereignty, will allow us to export this technology to the world," and assured that "blackouts will be just a bad memory," according to La Nación.

In the second phase of the initiative, Argentina aims to capitalize on its untapped uranium reserves to meet domestic needs and establish itself as a leading exporter of nuclear fuel. The government envisions positioning Argentina as a global leader in the peaceful use of atomic energy, while also advancing its aspirations to become an international hub for AI innovation.

But considering the actual experience she's accumulated in the field of home health care these past few years—giving sponge baths, changing bedpans, and administering the military-grade narcotics that allowed our nominal leader to present as semi-coherent in public settings—we feel she's earned it. Caring for a spouse with severe dementia is never easy, even for the vast majority of us who aren't secretly in charge of the world's largest economy and commanding its most powerful military, not to mention having to put up with a crackhead stepson who once called you a "selfish silly entitled c—t" and "vindictive moron" who "wouldn't survive one class in a[n] ivy graduate program."

We certainly don't approve of the way Dr. Jill has been leading the country these past four years, but we're not even mad. We're amazed that she managed to pull it off under the circumstances. Game respect game.

She achieved a level of absolute power that Hillary Clinton—the ice queen of ruthless ambition herself—could only dream of. We're a little creeped out by Sleepy Joe's comments about the "great sex" he's having, considering he probably lacks the capacity to legally consent, but we're willing to give Jill the benefit of the doubt. We would never kink-shame a commander in chief.

It's only a matter of time before Ivanka Trump (or Nancy Mace, or the Hawk Tuah girl, or Sam Alito's wife) is sworn in to become what ignorant experts will describe as "our first woman president." We'll be elated, obviously, but we won't be fooled.The Free Beacon will never forget Dr. Jill's historic service to this country, even though basically any man could have done a better job. Moscow's 4 airports closed temporarily for unspecified security reasons

Russian authorities on Thursday closed all four of Moscow’s airports, plus a fifth one in a city about 100 miles southwest of the country’s capital, citing unspecified safety concerns.

The five airports were “temporarily not accepting or sending flights,” according to a statement from Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsia.

“To ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the operation of Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky and Kaluga airports,” Rosaviatsia said in a post on Telegram.

All four of Moscow airports reopened after being briefly closed, with the fifth airport, in Kaluga, reopening later on Thursday afternoon.

Officials did not give an immediate or precise reason for the closures.

“Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport services take all necessary measures to ensure flight safety — this is the top priority,” the official statement posted to Telegram said.

Nearly two years after President Vladimir Putin invaded Russia’s smaller neighbor, Ukraine has pushed the war into Russia.

On Thursday, air raid sirens sounded in the Oryol region and in Sevastopol in Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed from Ukraine after invading in 2014.

Sirens were also reported in the Russian city of Taganrog, located in Rostov, which borders Ukraine, local authorities said in a post to Telegram.

Two Ukrainian missiles were shot down in the Kursk region with no damage or casualties, according to a post on the Kursk region Telegram channel, after it was announced that the five Russian airports had been shut down.

A third Ukrainian missile was shot down in Kursk shortly after Moscow’s airports reopened, officials said.

This comes a month after Ukraine launched its largest drone attack on Moscow since the full-scale war began.

The airports temporary closures come on the same day that the Kremlin warned against speculating what may have caused an Azerbaijan Airlines flight to crash, killing 38 of the 67 people on board, after an aviation expert said evidence indicated that a Russian anti-missile battery may have brought down the passenger plane.

PDW to Supply C100 Small Drones for US Army

Performance Drone Works (PDW) has received more than $15.3 million in contracts to deliver its proprietary C100 small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) to the US Army.

The drones will support the force’s posture across high-profile theaters, according to the Alabama-based company, with most to be distributed across the Indo-Pacific, European, and Central Command areas of responsibility.

The “game-changing” capabilities are expected to provide medium-range reconnaissance and tactical air support.

“The C100 drone is setting a new standard for battlefield agility and operational impact, equipping Soldiers with the ability to conduct missions autonomously without external fire support,” PDW Co-Founder and CEO Ryan Gury stated.

“We are honored to support the Army’s critical objectives and proud to deliver a solution that enables the maneuver force with decentralized and dispersed capabilities.”

PDW’s award followed the firm’s selection in September for the US Army’s Directed Requirement for Company-Level sUAS, a broader program seeking small drones for company-level intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance missions.

‘Cutting-Edge’ Technology

The C100 weighs 21 pounds (10 kilograms) and has a payload capacity of about 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms).

The low-acoustic drone is equipped with night mode vision guides, collision avoidance and position hold system, and advanced flight autonomy with optional AI-based computing integration.

It can operate in environments with temperatures ranging from -20 to 57 degrees Celsius (-4 to 135 degrees Fahrenheit) and resist dust particles and water.

C100 has a range of 6 miles (10 kilometers), a speed of 40 miles (65 kilometers) per hour, a maximum altitude of 12,000 feet (3,658 miles), and 74 minutes of endurance.

“PDW is transforming the battlefield with cutting-edge drone technology,” PDW Board Chairman and former US Special Operations Commander Tony Thomas commented on the recent contracts.

“The C100 provides our warfighters with a decisive advantage, delivering unparalleled operational flexibility and survivability in today’s contested environments.”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) allegedly loosened its rules of engagement at the start of the war with Hamas, giving officers permission to conduct airstrikes even when they knew that dozens of civilians would be killed, the New York Times has reported.

Within hours of Hamas militants attacking Israel on October 7 last year, the IDF issued an order authorizing mid-ranking officers to strike not just senior Hamas commanders or known military sites, but also low-level fighters and sites with a potentially high number of civilian bystanders, the newspaper reported on Thursday, citing interviews with Israeli officers.

Whereas the IDF officially tolerated between five and ten civilian casualties for every enemy operative killed in the past, the change in the rules bumped the number of acceptable casualties up to 20, the New York Times’ sources said.

The change meant that “the military could target rank-and-file militants as they were at home surrounded by relatives and neighbors, instead of only when they were alone outside,” the newspaper noted.

In practice, IDF commanders authorized strikes that they knew would endanger more than 100 civilians, the newspaper claimed, citing interviews with more than 100 military personnel. Flawed systems were used to identify targets, and unguided 2,000-pound bombs were used in strikes that previously would have called for smaller munitions, it added.

Within three days of Hamas’ attack, the IDF removed a pre-existing cap on the number of strikes its forces could conduct in a single day. As a result, some 30,000 munitions were fired in the first seven weeks of the conflict, more than in the next eight months combined, according to the report.

In a statement to the New York Times, the IDF acknowledged that the rules of engagement had changed after October 7, but said its forces had “consistently been employing means and methods that adhere to the rules of law.”

Israeli forces have killed nearly 45,400 people in Gaza since the conflict began, according to figures supplied by the enclave’s Health Ministry and accepted as accurate by the UN. The majority of those killed have been women and children.

S. 4199 seeks to hastily add judgeships with just a few weeks left in the 118th Congress. The House of Representative’s hurried action fails to resolve key questions in the legislation, especially regarding how the new judgeships are allocated, and neither the House of Representatives nor the Senate explored fully how the work of senior status judges and magistrate judges affects the need for new judgeships. The efficient and effective administration of justice requires that these questions about need and allocation be further studied and answered before we create permanent judgeships for life-tenured judges.

S. 4199 would create new judgeships in States where Senators have sought to hold open existing judicial vacancies. Those efforts to hold open vacancies suggest that concerns about judicial economy and caseload are not the true motivating force behind passage of this bill now.

Therefore, I am vetoing this bill.

"Once upon a time, in the Land of the Free, there lived a wizard called Kash the Distinguished Discoverer," reads the opening line of The Plot Against The King. It's the first in a trilogy of children's books written by President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kash Patel.

In the books, Kash the wizard helps a noble hero named "King Donald" foil characters like "Hillary Queenton"' and "Comma-la-la-la." The first book features a thinly veiled reference to the agency Trump has tapped Patel to head as "slug stables in a shadowy corner of the castle," run by "Keeper Komey" referring to former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired during his first term in 2017. Another book references 2000 Mules, the thoroughly debunked film that falsely asserts the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

The children's books are just one example of how Patel has parlayed his time serving in various national security roles in the first Trump administration to building a brand promoting pro-Trump conspiracy theories and selling merchandise. Those conspiracy theories have also been cited by Patel in past public statements promising payback for Trump's perceived enemies.

Patel started his career as a public defender in Florida and later became a federal prosecutor. His work as a congressional aide helping Republicans defend Trump during investigations into Russian election interference in 2016 got him noticed. As a staffer for Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., he helped author a 2018 memo that alleged the FBI and Justice Department committed surveillance abuses by omitting information in its warrant applications to monitor a Trump campaign staffer. An FBI internal watchdog report later confirmed errors and omissions on the applications, but found no evidence that the federal agencies acted with political bias.

Patel went on to roles at the National Security Council and Pentagon in Trump's first administration. Alex Pfeiffer, a spokesperson for the Trump transition team, told NPR that experience is why Patel's "beyond qualified" to be FBI director. Patel did not return a request for comment.

Christopher Wray, the current FBI director, was appointed by Trump in 2017 and still has more than two years left in his 10-year term. On a Sunday appearance on NBC's Meet the Press, Trump was asked if he intended to fire Wray to make room for Patel. "Well, I mean, it would sort of seem pretty obvious that if Kash gets in, he's going to be taking somebody's place, right?" Trump said. "Somebody is the man that you're talking about."

A focus on conspiratorial views

In addition to writing children's books, Patel has spent the four years since Trump left office on projects closely aligned with his former boss and the MAGA movement. He was a board member and consultant for the parent company of Truth Social, Trump's social media platform. He launched the Kash Foundation, which he has said assists defamation victims and the families of Trump supporters who have been charged for their role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

He also featured the voices of jailed Jan. 6 defendants in a song he helped produce that Trump played at his rallies. Patel described the song as an effort to raise "funds and awareness for the due process that has been hijacked for so many people who were in and around Jan. 6," while critics called it a part of an effort to reframe the deadly insurrection attempt. (Patel has also pushed the baseless theory that Jan. 6 was primarily instigated by the FBI and its informants to hurt the MAGA movement.)

As a co-host of a talk show for The Epoch Times, a media company known for spreading baseless conspiracy theories, a review by NBC found Patel shared unfounded claims about supposed conspiracies aimed at undermining Trump perpetrated by government officials, the FBI, social media platforms, the media and others.

Patel has used his exposure to sell merchandise. He sells K$H-branded wine (some of the proceeds go to charity) and supplements that he claims 'detoxify' the supposed negative effects of COVID vaccines. His foundation sells branded clothes, accessories, playing cards and his books.

Patel's book for adults, Government Gangsters: The Deep State, the Truth, and the Battle for Our Democracy, is framed as an insider's tell-all about his experiences during the first Trump administration. He uses the term "government gangsters" to refer to career bureaucrats who he claims are part of a corrupt "deep state."

Patel described these "government gangsters" — as well as "people on the radical left andthe mainstream media" — as "pure evil"in an interview earlier this year with a conservative Christian YouTuber.

The idea of the deep state, which was popularized by Trump and embraced by his supporters, is one of Patel's main talking points, said Russell Muirhead, a political science professor at Dartmouth College who has co-authored books about modern conspiracy theories and democracy.

"The deep state conspiracy refers to the idea that a huge, huge raft of governmental officials — many in the executive branch answering to the president — are actually hostile to the president and want to defeat him, want to obstruct him, want to disempower his constituents and his movement," Muirhead said.

He said whether someone believes in it or not, the deep state idea functions to legitimize a project of disabling or disrupting parts of government that don't bend to Trump's will.

Courting QAnon believers

The deep state is also a key feature of many modern, pro-Trump conspiracy theories, including QAnon. Adherents of QAnon claim the deep state works with a cabal of pedophile elites to secretly traffic children and harvest a chemical from their blood. They believe a government insider known as Q is working with Trump on a plan to take down the cabal and left cryptic clues on online message boards.

One of those supposed clues, known as a "Q drop," mentioned Patel by name in 2018 with the note, "name to remember" — making him a celebrated figure in QAnon lore.

QAnon believers have long been anticipating what they call "the storm," which they expect will include mass arrests and punishment for "the cabal" and members of the deep state. Trump's decision to pick Patel to lead the FBI has been celebrated by the movement's key influencers as a sign "the storm" is imminent.

For his part, Patel has been willing to court QAnon believers as he built his brand and platform in recent years

In 2022, afterPatel inscribed some copies of one of his children's books with a QAnon slogan, he fielded questions about whether he was a believer. He claimed he used the slogan because of its ties to a movie, but did not distance himself completely, either.

"You know, the Q thing is a movement. A lot of people attached themselves to it," Patel told pro-Trump influencer Mary Grace at the time. "I disagree with a lot of what that movement says, but I agree with what a lot of that movement says."

Patel has tended not to focus on the pedophile part of the belief system, but he's made more than 50 appearances on at least a dozen podcasts that have either promoted the QAnon movement or shared QAnon-related conspiracy theories.

Patel made overtures to QAnon influencers to join Truth Social and helped promote an account called "Q" on that platform.

In an appearance on the X22 Report, a podcast and video show known for promoting QAnon, Patel told the host that his "championing cause" was "to get our people and mainstream America listening to your show rather than CNN, reading … The New York Times and The Washington Post."

When asked about Patel's comments about QAnon and appearances on related podcasts, Trump transition team spokesperson Pfeiffer told NPR, "This is a pathetic attempt at guilt by association."

It is not unusual for those in Trump's orbit to wink at the QAnon movement. Trump and Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform X, who was one of Trump's biggest financial supporters this election cycle, have both shared content related to QAnon in recent months.

Muirhead, the Dartmouth professor, noted that Patel seems willing to "embrace the whole train of conspiratorial assertions associated with or even that define Donald Trump."

And that includes QAnon. "It delivers him to an audience of sympathetic listeners and watchers," Muirhead said.

Concerns about retribution

Past comments Patel made promising retribution against Trump's perceived enemies, including for what he falsely alleges was a stolen election in 2020, have resurfaced since Trump announced he wants Patel to lead the country's top law enforcement agency. Patel's threats have also led to concerns that he will try to use the agency to harass personal and ideological foes in a modern version of the practices of the FBI's founding director, J. Edgar Hoover.

We will go out and find the conspirators, not just in government, but in the media," Patel said last year on former Trump adviser Steve Bannon's talk show, War Room.

"Yes, we're going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections — we're going to come after you. Whether it's criminally or civilly, we'll figure that out."

Patel has previously sued journalists for defamation. After a former Trump official argued on MSNBC last week that Patel is unfit to lead the FBI, she received a letter from his attorney demanding she retract certain statements she made about Patel's record or face litigation.

When asked about these past threats, Pfeiffer, the Trump spokesperson, told NPR, "Kash Patel is going to deliver on President Trump's mandate to restore integrity to the FBI and end the weaponization of the agency."

On the campaign trail leading up to the November election, Trump repeated vows to get revenge and prosecute perceived foes.

On his Sunday appearance on Meet the Press Trump denied that he would direct Patel to launch investigations against his perceived political enemies but said Patel is "going to do what he thinks is right." When pressed about whether he wanted such investigations to happen, Trump said, "If they were crooked, if they did something wrong, if they have broken the law, probably. They went after me. You know, they went after me and I did nothing wrong." At another point in the interview, he mentioned the members of the congressional committee that investigated his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and said "Honestly, they should go to jail."

Charles Kupperman, a former deputy national security adviser to Trump, told NPR he did not trust Patel when he overlapped with him at the National Security Council and said he believes appointing Patel to lead the FBI would be a mistake.

The FBI has traditionally been independent from the president, but Kupperman has concerns that could change. "Kash will be a propagandist for Donald Trump," said Kupperman, who said he did not vote for either candidate in the last election and wrote in a name instead. "He will carry out any orders that the White House president gives him, and he will have an opportunity in the organization if he is confirmed at the FBI to invoke retribution against individuals. And it will not be a pretty picture or good for the country."

Kupperman said he worries Patel will focus on rooting out government employees who are perceived as being disloyal to the president. He recalled a 2019 meeting where Trump had proposed Patel do that at the National Security Council, but Kupperman and others pushed back.

Now he worries such an agenda could be part of Patel's mission if he were to head the FBI. "It will be a waste of effort and it will take our eye off of the ball of the other problems," Kupperman said.

How robot submarines fight to keep the UK's lights on in North Sea drone battle

Over a two-week period last month, a steady stream of senior naval officers made their way to the English south coast for a ringside view of an epochal arms race.

At stake is the ability of Britain to defend critical seabed infrastructure – and in so doing, keep the nation functioning securely in the internet age.

What the military VIPs had come to see was Herne – a cutting-edge, British-made autonomous submarine about the size of a single-decker bus.

The vessel is packed with the kit necessary to monitor and protect against threats to the thousands of miles of data cables and energy lines that connect the UK to the outside world and keep institutions running, from the financial markets to the NHS.

The uncrewed craft, which made its debut in front representatives from no fewer than 10 allied navies potentially looking to acquire the technology, is at the cutting edge of an unseen but growing underwater dogfight with adversaries such as Russia and China, which use fleets of robotic craft controlled by artificial intelligence to prosecute a silent conflict off the shores of Britain and beyond.

The “drone war” that has developed in the skies above the battlefields of Ukraine is slowly but surely moving to the seas.

Intelligence sources told The i Paper that Moscow’s highly-specialised “cable sabotage” force – the Main Directorate for Deep-Sea Research or GUGI – is “strongly assessed” to have deployed advanced uncrewed submarines in the Baltic and North Sea.

In little-noticed remarks earlier this year, a UK government minister suggested it was likely that Russian autonomous systems built for “underwater warfare” have been active off the British coast.

Now, after longstanding criticism that Britain and Nato have been painfully slow to confront this threat, a race by the UK and its allies to field equivalent – or even superior – military technology is under way.

Once it is fully operational within the next 18 months, Herne, developed by UK defence giant BAE Systems, will have the ability to stealthily rove the North Sea for up to two months at a time, or lie dormant on the seabed for up to nine months.

Using its advanced sensors it can detect incoming threats to fibre optic cables, electricity lines or gas pipe lines, and, in future, remotely destroy or disrupt whatever is responsible.

It is perhaps a sign of urgency, that in a world where defence projects can take decades, Herne has gone from “design to launch” in only 11 months.

Tim O’Neill, who has helped oversee the project for BAE’s maritime division, said Herne represents a new capability for military-grade “persistent surveillance” of the seabed to alert commanders to incoming threats.

He said: “What we’re trying to get ahead of is how can we detect that there is an adversary in an area, so that before they even get to the point of doing something with cables and pipelines, we can detect and deter them from closing in.

“Traditionally this was always about [crewed] submarines looking for submarines or surface ships looking for submarines. Those capabilities still exist but they are limited in number.

These cable runs are huge and what we’re trying to keep an eye on now is massive. So where we see a real priority is the use of subsurface systems to provide a persistent look to detect those threats to our infrastructure.”

It is a naval capability which, according to experts and intelligence sources, cannot come soon enough as adversaries – from Russia and China to Iran and the Houthi rebels in Yemen look to turn the seabed into the next battlefield between the West and the so-called “axis of disruption”.

From the Shetlands to Taiwan to the Red Sea, mysterious cable outages in the last two years have diverged from an assumption that such breakages are the result of accidents to fingers being pointed at the West’s foes.

For Britain and its European neighbours, it is the Kremlin that looms largest in this increasingly active, and quite literally murky, confrontation as Moscow, seeking to gain advantage in Ukraine, pursues its wider strategy of hybrid warfare – the testing Western defences and resolve to a point where damage is caused but remains below the threshold of outright conflict.

As Dmitry Medvedev, the former Russian president and acolyte of Russian president Vladimir Putin, recently put it, Russia believes it has “no remaining moral constraints to refrain from destroying the cable connections of our enemies laid on the ocean floor”.

That Moscow has been waging a campaign of mapping, monitoring, and highly likely targeting, the cat’s cradle of subsea cables and pipelines that criss-cross the seas of northern Europe is well-established.

In 2023, a senior Nato official said the Kremlin was “actively mapping” the seabed infrastructure of Ukraine’s allies, using fleets of “research” ships and deniable vessels such as fishing trawlers to loiter conspicuously over cable and energy infrastructure.

According to one study, non-military Russian vessels have been responsible for 945 suspicious movements in the North Sea over the last decade.

A report from Belgium earlier this year suggested that an explosive charge had been found on a UK-owned cable in the North Sea shortly after the start of the Ukraine war. The UK Ministry of Defence declined to comment.

In November, a Chinese-flagged cargo ship sailing from Russia was accused of severing two data cables, linking Germany to Finland and Sweden to Lithuania, by deliberately dragging its anchor in the Baltic.

Intelligence officials have pointed the finger at Russia. Boris Pistorius, Germany’s defence minister, remarked: “Nobody believes that these cables were severed by accident.”

But less obvious is the trend for delegating this new genre of “seabed warfare” to uncrewed robots.

Speaking recently, armed forces minister Luke Pollard said it was “certainly true” that Britain faces a new type of threat in home waters. He said: “That’s the changing face of warfare that we need to think about – underwater warfare with autonomous systems in particular.

We are not just talking about submarines with crews battling in the North Atlantic in a World War II context. You are talking about uncrewed underwater systems that can potentially put our vital national infrastructure at risk.”

The precise capabilities of GUGI’s uncrewed submarines – known in military jargon as AUVs or autonomous underwater vehicles – are a closely kept secret but the unit, which is kept well-funded by the Kremlin, is widely regarded to be able to reach any subsea infrastructure up to a depth of 6,000 metres. Earlier this year, Moscow unveiled a military AUV with a range of 1,480km (919 miles).

The threat that such weaponry poses is sobering.

According to an authoritative study on the seabed threat earlier this year by the Policy Exchange think-tank, some 99 per cent of the UK’s external digital communications are reliant on a network of 60 subsea fibre optic cables spanning out from the North Sea and the Atlantic coasts.

Globally, the 1.4m kilometres of such cable spanning the globe conveys the vast majority of the world’s internet traffic, as well some $10trn (£7.9trn) in daily financial transactions.

For Britain, the loss of even a relatively small number of those connections would result in a cascade of digital outages that could see the country largely grind to a halt within a few hours.

Dr Adam Fenton, assistant professor at Coventry University’s Centre for Peace and Security, and a specialist in uncrewed naval warfare, said:

“Part of the problem is that in international waters, Nato and allies are restricted because vessels of other nations are permitted to operate there without interference from other countries.

This includes conducting ‘scientific research’ or deploying undersea drones.

Patel's book, Government Gangsters, includes an appendix of names of people he considers part of the deep state. Kupperman's name appears on the list, though he said that won't stop him from speaking out about how he thinks Patel is an inappropriate choice for the job.

"The fact that this individual is making the list, that is another example of why he's not fit to be the FBI director," Kupperman said, adding that he is not impressed with how Patel has chosen to spend the last four years. "Writing pseudo-children's books about the king and so forth doesn't strike me as a strong resume for an individual to become FBI director."

For Muirhead, the prospect of having a conspiracist content creator heading an investigative agency raises another alarming possibility.

"The FBI could be used to support, to generate, conspiratorial narratives that delegitimate the opposition and empower the regime," Muirhead said

Universal Studios Orlando cancels drone component of their nightly show

Universal Studios Orlando has canceled the drone component of their nightly show "Cinesational".

A company spokesperson stated, "We have currently paused the drone component of Cinesational: A Symphonic Spectacular.

Guests can still enjoy the show nightly at Universal Studios Florida."

Universal did not state as to why the drone component was canceled.

However, it comes after the tragic drone incident that took place at Lake Eola this past weekend.

Alezander, a 7-year-old boy, was hurt during that show after being hit by a falling drone, his parents, Adriana Edgerton and Jessica Lumsden, told FOX 35 News.

On Sunday, he underwent open-heart surgery for his chest injury.

Lumsden told FOX 35 News on Tuesday that their son, Alezander, is stable following surgery.

In a statement, she shared that he is "still being monitored but remains determined to walk again."

The family will spend the Christmas holiday in the intensive care unit (ICU) by his side.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the incident.

The NTSB confirmed to FOX 35 News on Tuesday that memory cards from the drones involved will be sent to the NTSB recorders laboratory in Washington, D.C., for analysis.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a four-minute video to his X account, in which he issues scathing attacks on Israeli media.

In the video, Netanyahu says that his enemies "in the left wing media found a new-old destination: they attack with no mercy my wife Sara." Netanyahu addressed Israeli television program Uvda's investigative report on Sara Netanyahu which aired last week on Israel's Channel 12, saying that the "networks of poison and hysteria" are trying to hurt Sara in attempt to hurt me.

"They are doing this through biased and agenda-driven television programs, and there, there is no limit to lies, no limit to vile distortions, to taking things out of context, to fake news, to brainwashing, to non-stop engineered manipulation. They call this 'Uvda' [Hebrew for fact] – but its simply lying propaganda," Netanyahu says in the video.

Netanyahu added that "For once, I'd like to see Channel 12 the rest of the networks of poison air an investigation of the left. But don't count on it, it simply won't happen. There was a left-wing government here for a year and a half with the Muslim Brotherhood. How many investigations were there?"

According to him, "What happens in the networks of poison is daily incitement, hour by hour, against the right-wing camp, against the ultra-Orthodox community, against the settlers. This is the real poison machine."

According to Netanyahu, this is a "full industry of conglomerates and public relations firms, dozens of institutions in Israel and the world, thousands of paid activists that are bullying ministers and members of parliament on the right. Israel's Union of Journalists responded to Netanyahu's video, stating, "The prime minister continues to attack journalists and media professionals as part of an organized and extensive campaign aimed at undermining the free press in Israel, with the intention of silencing public criticism."

According to the union, "The latest attack on the Uvda program is part of a plan to weaken free media, which also includes efforts to harm Israel's public broadcaster, Haaretz, and public radio stations. A free press is a fundamental condition for democracy. We call on the government and its leader to stop inciting against media outlets and referring to them with derogatory names such as 'networks of poison and hysteria.'"

In a Uvda investigation published last week, leaked messages revealed that in 2020, Sara Netanyahu pressured Chani Bleiweiss, hen head of Netanyahu's office, to act against the couple's neighbors – the bereaved parents of the late pilot Tom Farkash.

According to the report, Netanyahu wrote to Bleiweiss, "The disgusting Farkash family needs to be condemned. There needs to be a response to the terrible things they're doing." Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen Sustains Serious Injuries In Horseback Riding Accident

Pillen was transported to Nebraska Medicine on Sunday afternoon after the accident, which happened while he was riding with his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, his office said in a statement.

“The Governor’s injuries included minor lacerations to his spleen and kidney, seven broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung resulting from the rib damage, and a minor fracture in one of his vertebrae,” his office said. “There were no injuries to his neck, head, nervous system or additional internal organs.”

Russian Su-25 collides with recon drone mid-flight

A Russian Su-25 attack aircraft collided with a drone while flying missions over the Donetsk region.

The Dossier of the Spy Telegram channel reported this.

It is reported that the aircraft belonged to one of the 960th Assault Aviation Regiment (military unit 75387, Primorsko-Akhtarsk).

During a combat mission over the Donetsk region, the Su-25 collided with a Russian ZALA reconnaissance drone.

The impact hit the nose of the attack aircraft, damaging the cockpit windows and avionics unit.

According to the Dossier of the Spy channel, the pilot was not injured and landed the combat vehicle at the base airfield.

The damage to the aircraft is not serious, at least visually, and the airfield’s maintenance department can probably repair it.

Aircraft collisions with drones are not uncommon. However, given the heavy air traffic of drones over the front line, similar situations have already occurred.

For example, in January 2024, a Ukrainian FPV drone almost collided with a Russian Su-25, and later, in June, a similar incident occurred involving a Ukrainian DJI Mavic.

It is reported that during the full-scale stage of the Russo-Ukrainian war, the Russian Aerospace Forces irretrievably lost about 31 Su-25s.

On December 18, the Russians announced the loss of a Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter with its crew.

Russian military bloggers, in their typical manner, immediately claimed friendly fire from their own air defense.

Immigration Minister Tony Burke has quietly accrued the power to more readily impose electronic monitoring and curfews on dangerous non-citizens released from detention.

Under the new rules, Mr Burke will have the ability to release non-citizens from immigration detention without the approval of the High Court and impose strict conditions upon them, if they are deemed to be 'community safety concern'.

The Albanese government will be hoping these sweeping measures finally halt the political nightmare the Labor Party has facing since the High Court ruled in November 2023, that non-citizens who cannot be deported can't be indefinitely detained even if previously criminally convicted.

That decision along with other legal challenges lost by the Albanese government has seen murderers and child rapists back on the streets with dozens being arrested for various crimes or breaching release conditions.

Mr Burke's new powers come courtesy of a deal Labor struck with the Opposition during the final sitting week of federal parliament for this year.

Along with the discretion to monitor freed detainees, Mr Burke will also have more power to deport foreigners with no right to remain in Australia.

The Albanese government's previous attempt to impose curfews and monitoring on freed detainees was struck down by a separate High Court ruling in November, with the measures labelled 'punitive' and unconstitutional.

The new legislation seeks to circumvent constitutional issues by introducing a new 'community protection test' to re-implement ankle monitoring and curfew requirements.
