when I went to Los Angeles I drove around and saw what a horrible wasteland it really is. I said 'how do I know that the population is what they say?'

It seemed clear to me that as corrupt as the City of Demons is that it was very likely that they reported a lot more people living there than really did. That way they'd get more congress people. They'd get more school funds. They'd get more federal aide.

Something to think about.

Used to have a buddy who had a real crappy attitude about Christmas and said he hated everything about it.

He was a Christian.

Finally one day he told me about what Christmas was like in his fed up home with his fed up dad and how there never really was a Christmas for him and his brothers.

Not going to bother you with the details, but I felt really bad for him.

I get it now and I think differently about people who have a bad attitude at Christmas time.

This is after Biden commuted the sentences of 1,500 people and pardoned 39 others – the biggest single-day act of clemency in history, the AP reported.

 

Biden also pardoned his son, Hunter, who was convicted of felony gun crimes after he promised he would respect the jury’s verdict.

 

President Trump promised to accelerate federal executions so Joe Biden commuted their sentences in an effort to derail Trump’s plans.

 

The 40 inmates on death row have been convicted of heinous crimes and gruesome murders.

 

Among those who will no longer face the death penalty is a monster who raped two little girls before stabbing them to death.

Jordan Kaplan, the Democratic National Committee finance director, is now leaving too.

Three weeks after the shake-up sparked by the WikiLeaks dump that forced the resignation of the chair and three senior staffers, the top fundraiser for the official party apparatus is leaving the building himself.

Kaplan’s were among the emails released, but he didn’t lose his job in the immediate wave of housecleaning. And unlike the others who left, he’s not going far: Kaplan will be the DNC’s outside point person for events that involve President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama as they raise money for the campaigns of Hillary Clinton and other candidates going into the final phase of the election.

A DNC official confirmed the news, which was announced to senior staff Friday morning.

“Jordan Kaplan has decided to return to his consulting business full time. He will continue to manage DNC finance events featuring the president and first lady,” the official said.

The move will come with a further absorption of what would normally be DNC operations into Brooklyn, with fundraising for the party now falling under the portfolio of longtime top Clinton money man Dennis Cheng.

Kaplan is among the aides whose roots with Obama go back the furthest, all the way back to the president’s 2004 Senate campaign in Illinois, and he was one of the first people raising money for Obama’s presidential run. He was Rahm Emanuel’s finance director for his 2011 mayoral run in Chicago, and then he went back to Obama for America as the Illinois finance director of the reelection. He’s been at the DNC since March of 2013.

A DNC official said that Rachel Rauscher, currently the finance director-at-large for the DNC, will take over Kaplan’s responsibilities. But as the restructuring and rebuilding continues, Rauscher won’t get Kaplan’s title.

Fundraising for the party, with much higher donation limits than for an individual candidate, is traditionally a major force at the end of a national campaign cycle. That task has gotten even more complicated this year, with the data hack leading to questions about management andidentity theft, and interim chair Donna Brazile spending much of her time on the job reassuring jittery members, donors and other stakeholders.

US President-elect Donald Trump has promised that his administration would continue to “vigorously” pursue capital punishment for violent criminals, after outgoing President Joe Biden commuted sentences for dozens of death row inmates.

 

On Monday, Biden granted clemency to 37 of the 40 federal inmates awaiting execution, commuting their sentences to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

 

“Make no mistake: I condemn these murderers, grieve for the victims of their despicable acts, and ache for all the families who have suffered unimaginable and irreparable loss,” the outgoing president said in a statement. At the same time, he insisted that he “must stop” the use of capital punishment at the federal level.

 

“In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted,” Biden said. In 2021, Attorney General Merrick Garland imposed a moratorium on federal executions.

 

Trump slammed the commutations on social media. “Joe Biden just commuted the death sentence on 37 of the worst killers in our country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “When you hear the acts of each, you won’t believe that he did this. Makes no sense. Relatives and friends are further devastated. They can’t believe this is happening!”

 

Trump vowed to instruct the Department of Justice to “vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent rapists, murderers, and monsters.”

 

According to the New York Post, the commutations include Thomas Sanders, who killed a 12-year-old girl and her mother in 2010. Another death row inmate who was granted clemency is Anthony Battle, who murdered a prison guard with a hammer in 1994 while serving a life sentence for raping and murdering his wife, the Post said.

 

The Los Angeles Times said that the clemency includes Iouri Mikhel and Jurijus Kadamovas, who killed five people in a kidnapping-for-ransom scheme in the early 2000s.

 

Biden also granted clemency to Jorge Avila-Torrez, who sexually assaulted and stabbed to death two little girls in 2005, and four years later strangled US Navy officer Amanda Snell.

 

“I’d rather see it go back to the way it was, where he was sentenced to death,” the victim’s brother, Alex Snell, told the Post. “He should have gotten that penalty.”

 

The family of Donna Major, a bank teller killed in a 2017 robbery by Brandon Council, whose sentence Biden commuted, has condemned the president’s actions. “I’m still angry. I’m upset that one man can make this decision without even talking to the victims, without any regard for what we’ve been through,” Major’s daughter, Heather Turner, told Fox News.

 

During his election campaign, Trump has accused the Democrats of being lenient on violent crime, claiming that they were unable to tackle illegal migration and undermining the work of police in big cities.

“The Americans are particularly concerned about the work carried out by Russia and China with the states of the continent to expose the true content of the military-biological programs of the United States in connection with the possible restriction of the Pentagon’s activities in this area,” Rtishchev stated.

 

He warned Moscow’s “African partners against cooperation with the United States in the military-biological sphere,” adding that “such cooperation turns out to be a loss of national sovereignty in the sphere of biosecurity and worsening of the disease situation.”

 

Moscow and Beijing have repeatedly demanded greater transparency from the US and its allies regarding their military biological activities. Earlier this year, the two countries agreed to unite against biological security threats and strengthen the BTWC, a 1972 treaty signed by 109 nations to block the development of bioweapons.

 

Last year, the Russian Defense Ministry drew attention to the transfer of Washington’s dual-purpose biological research projects from Ukraine to Africa under the guise of public health programs.

 

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the former head of the Russian Army’s Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops who was recently killed in an explosion, stated that the relocation was in response to Moscow’s efforts to expose the Pentagon’s illegal operations in the European region.

 

On Tuesday, the Russian military said Africa has become a focal point of interest for the US government, which views the region as an unlimited natural reservoir of dangerous pathogens and a testing ground for experimental medical treatments.

People in the northern hemisphere will be treated to dazzling displays of the aurora borealis on Wednesday, as a coronal mass ejection from the sun brushes up against our planet, according to Russian scientists.

 

After two weeks of relative inactivity, the sun experienced a class-M flare on Monday, with a magnitude of 8.9, just shy of making it class-X. The flare happened in the sunspot group 3932, which astronomers have been monitoring because it is due to intersect the sun-earth line over the next 5-7 days.

 

“Part of the coronal mass ejection could clip our planet in the afternoon of December 25,” Mikhail Leus of the ‘Phobos’ weather center in Moscow said Tuesday on his Telegram channel.

The G4-level event had the potential to disrupt power grids and cause radio blackouts, but ended up being relatively uneventful in terms of technological disturbances. Witness in Clinton Foundation corruption trial found dead in Miami

 

A former Haitian government official, who was scheduled to testify next week in a case of alleged corruption and malpractice in Clinton Foundation, has been found dead in Miami.

 

Klaus Eberwein reportedly shot himself in the head on Tuesday, and the death was being treated a suicide by local authorities, according to the Miami Herald. Eberwein was 50.

 

He told acquaintances he feared for his life for his fierce criticism of the Clinton Foundation, World Net Daily (WND) reported.

 

Eberwein was due to appear next Tuesday before the Haitian Senate Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission where he was widely expected to testify that the Clinton Foundation misappropriated Haiti earthquake donations from international donors, according to the WND.

 

A supporter of former Haitian president Michel Martelly, Eberwein had served as director general of the Haitian government’s economic development agency, Fonds d’assistance économique et social, for three years.

 

According to Eberwein, a paltry 0.6 percent of donations granted by international donors to the Clinton Foundation with the express purpose of directly assisting Haitians actually ended up in the hands of Haitian organisations.

 

"A further 9.6 percent ended up with the Haitian government. The remaining 89.8 percent – or $5.4 billion – was funnelled to non-Haitian organisations."

In the letter, DeLauro referred to the Tesla and SpaceX CEO as “President” Musk, alluding to the fact that the world’s richest person began railing against the prior funding bill on Wednesday, before President-elect Donald Trump came out with a statement of his own.

 

Trump had wanted the GOP to sink the bill, and issue a new one that would raise the debt ceiling so he could avoid that fight during the start of his second term in office. The stopgap funding bill, which President Joe Biden signed on Saturday, did not include the two-year suspension of the U.S. debt limit that Trump was seeking.

 

Musk responded to DeLauro’s concerns by calling her an “awful creature” in a post on X.

 

After acquiring Twitter in 2022, Musk rebranded it X and used it to help propel Trump back into the White House, becoming a close adviser and major backer to the incoming president along the way.

 

Musk contributed $277 million to the Trump campaign and other Republican causes during the 2024 cycle, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Since the election in November, Musk has become a nearly constant presence at Trump’s side, including in meetings with foreign leaders.

 

Trump appointed Musk to co-lead a group that’s not yet formed, but will be tasked with finding ways to cut regulations, personnel and budgets.
