i was unemployed for 9 months after being laid off as a mechanical engineer with process engineering experience… applied to about everything i could… got almost no interviews and the only jobs i could get were shit… i was also a top graduate of my class.. presidents and dean's list … graduated with an overall 3.4 GPA and a 3.7GPA from my university… never did what the asians did to pad my GPA either… like withdrawing from them when i knew i wouldnt get a perfect A or avoiding the harder courses/teachers because of it either

i am pretty sure a combination of h1b and dei practices is what fucked me for so long… and the jobs i could get were well below the pay i should be making for my abilities… and still am even though im starting a true engineering section for this developing company from the ground up and unfucking its systems…

not enough qualified engineers in the US… thats a fucking load of shit… just not enough dark enough and cheap enough engineers is more like it

was already out of school… got one as a process engineer with a military contractor (being a vet and US citizen helps in those cases) but this was before covid and the hard DEI push in all the sectors… got layed off from it because the managers were too big a pussy to take the necessary risks to improve a project and ended up losing contracts (plus they went public) and there were huge rounds of layoffs

I didn't choose engineering for shekels… i did it because i love math, physics and engineering. And if it wasn't for a mortgage hanging over my head and family responsibilities… i would engineer for myself… honestly i have a couple physics experiments i want to run once shit settles some

politicians are mostly worthless sellouts to the highest bidder… i find planting seeds of understanding more effective… some of those topics are too much for most to swallow… however with the right assortment of words… you can easily put a person on a path to inevitably discover the truth whether they like it or not… its easy to avoid another person… its hard to avoid yourself
