KEK. Are they really book snobbing now? That's funny. Eyes or ears, who fucking cares so long as it gets in the fuckin' brain?
"You heard those words with your ears rather than seeing them with your eyes!"
KEK! That just made my day hearing about that news article.
Concussions can do funny things to words printed on a page. Audiobooks were a lifejacket at that time, especially when you're used to reading one or two books a week for decades. That was a bit before Audible became a thing. CD's back then. Would go to the library, get 'em home and rip 'em to 64kbps ATRAC3+ and put 'em on minidiscs, along with the ones that I would buy myself from the bookstore. Grew to appreciate the performances and accents of the narrators and just stuck with audiobooks even after reading tightly packed print stopped being fucky. Who was that that wrote that article? Washington Post? Washington Times? Only was half paying attention to the TV when it was mentioned on Fox.
It involved a front-end loader that wasn't supposed to be put into low gear. Warned vehemently when hired not to put it into low gear. I put it in low gear. Fuck around, found out, and flew forward out of the seat like a bullet. Never went to a doctor. Had trust issues with doctors back then.
Check'd quad.
