Puerto Rico Plunges Into Nationwide Blackout, Internet Connectivity Disrupted

A massive blackout struck nearly all of Puerto Rico early Tuesday, leaving over 1.2 million customers without power just hours before New Year's Eve celebrations. The outage also disrupted internet services (not for those with backup power and Starlink) and was not caused by a hurricane or storm. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe's recent controversial remark about the US territory as a "floating island of garbage" comes to mind. Still, perhaps the real issue lies in the corruption and greed of local politicians and power companies.

Luma Energy, a private company that manages the island's power grid, said the outage began around 0530 local time, leaving 1.2 million out of 1.47 million customers in the dark. Luma said restoring electricity in some regions could take 24 to 48 hours.

Josue Colon, director of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, told local media WKAQ Radio that the blackout was considered a "major event."

The net is also down. This is not the case for those with backup power generation and Starlink.

Ever Decreasing Circles - Why The Worldwide Banking Ponzi-Scheme Must Be Reset

Since central banks became a ‘thing’ back in the early 20th century, we have seen a massive decline in the national finances of most countries around the world. Of course, predating this was the formation of the Bank of England and its role in the financing of the British empire, but of more significance to our current situation is the rise of America, the formation of the Federal Reserve, the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) and the World Bank Group (post Bretton Woods Conference) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

One could argue that all of these institutions exist not for the benefit of the world or humanity but to deprive nation states of their income and ownership of their resources, transferring both into the hands of private corporations and their shareholders. So today we are at a point in time where most countries are hideously in debt, many with debts far exceeding the dangerous 100% level of debt to gross domestic product (GDP) ratio. While Japan has far exceeded this for decades (currently 260%+) and not totally collapsed, it has proven to be a massive drag on any country, with huge amounts of money being wasted on interest payments alone.

The USA is of course fast catching up with Japan, or at least appears to be trying to, in terms of increasing its debt ratio. By any metric such failures to address ever-increasing debt are destined to lead to an implosion eventually, with a contraction into ever decreasing circles. There is not enough income in the world to pay back all of the money that is owed, so more and more debt is issued to continue paying the ever-increasing interest on the ever-increasing debts.

This imbecilic mistake is the kind of financial mismanagement that 10-year-olds can comprehend, yet this is a worldwide phenomenon that only a few countries have avoided (Russia being a case in point with approx. 20% debt to GDP). However, this situation has been allowed to occur and persist for decades now. In personal finances the same situation has occurred for most people.

When I was in a child, in the 1970s, many people did not have a bank account, credit was limited to expensive white goods in some shops and a ‘slate’ with the local grocer, that had to be cleared or at least substantially reduced at the end of the month. The idea of accumulating debt of 3-10 times your annual household income was just not an option for most people. This changed with the arrival of ‘personal banking’ in the 1980s, eventually leading to the current situation, where most families live paycheck to paycheck because they have maxed-out their borrowing with banks and credit card companies – meaning that a massive portion of their incomes is wasted on debt payments and the interest accrued.

Report: Elon Musk’s Tesla Replaced Laid Off Americans with Foreign Workers on H-1B Visas

In the wake of Elon Musk’s fiery defense of H-1B visas, it has come to light that Tesla has replaced U.S. employees laid off earlier this year with foreign workers holding the very H-1B visas that Musk lashed out at conservatives for not supporting.

Electrek reports that according to reports from current and former Tesla employees, as well as data from the U.S. Department of Labor, the company has significantly increased its use of H-1B visas to fill positions left vacant by the layoffs of approximately 15,000 U.S. workers in April 2024. The layoffs affected every department but were particularly concentrated in Tesla’s operations in Texas and California, where the company has the largest number of employees.

H-1B visas are intended to allow US companies to hire foreign workers for “specialty occupations” when there is a shortage of qualified American workers. The visas are valid for three years and can be extended for an additional three years. However, the visa holder must maintain employment with the sponsoring company to retain their work status, otherwise they are required to leave the country. This arrangement has been criticized by some as giving employers excessive power over foreign workers and potentially leading to a form of modern indentured servitude.

Tesla alone requested over 2,000 H-1B visas during the period when it was laying off thousands of U.S. workers. This figure represents over three percent of the total H-1B visas available nationwide. According to the affected employees, many of those laid off were senior engineers with higher salaries, who have been replaced by more junior foreign engineers at lower pay rates. Bryan King, an executive officer of a pharmaceutical company that “knowingly hides, conceals, omits, or otherwise withholds evidence, documentation, or information that the vaccine has dangerous effects,” would be found guilty of a felony and face a prison sentence of one year to life.

The bill is pending before the Arkansas Senate. King also introduced Senate Bill 5, to hold Pharma executives criminally liable for “prescription drug harm.”

Previous versions of both bills unanimously passed last year in the Arkansas Senate but died in the Arkansas House.

Ray Flores, senior outside counsel for Children’s Health Defense (CHD), welcomed the proposed legislation. He told The Defender:

“Regarding vaccines and other health-related issues, the public is increasingly frustrated with the impervious protection current law and corporate structure afford. The time is ripe to single out those ultimate decision-makers who benefit the most.

“This is an attempt, done properly through legislation, to address that powerlessness currently radiating throughout society.”

California-based healthcare attorney Rick Jaffe called the proposed legislation “an excellent jumping-off point for the serious discussion the country needs to have about vaccines.”

King’s office did not respond to The Defender’s request for comment by press time.

Federal liability shield may not protect against criminal charges

Two federal laws provide civil immunity to vaccine manufacturers.

The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 grants manufacturers broad protection from civil liability for injuries resulting from vaccines listed on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s childhood immunization schedule.

Under the 1986 act, people injured by these vaccines can file a claim under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

Vaccines like the COVID-19 shots, introduced as an “emergency countermeasure” to address a public health emergency, are covered under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP Act).

Under the PREP Act, manufacturers and other “covered persons” — including doctors, nurses and pharmacists who administer the vaccines — are exempt from liability. Vaccine injury claims for this category of vaccines are filed with the federal Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program.

In an analysis for TrialSite News, attorney Steven O’Connor suggested the proposed Arkansas bill could bypass the federal civil liability shields for vaccine makers.

“While Pharma execs and their firms face sturdy protections against civil liability for vaccine issues, there is no comparable protection for criminal liability,” O’Connor wrote.

“With much of the nation concerned about inadequate safety and efficacy research for our COVID-19 vaccines, Arkansas may be leading the way in a societal shift which will put more onus” on Big Pharma “to act in a transparent, and non-misleading, fashion,” O’Connor added.

The F-1 Student Visa system is corrupt too… America is a country. Not a jobs program for the third world.

Funny you should ask, I’ve been investigating the fraud in the F-1 Student Visa system too.

It’s just as big of a rabbit hole as the H-1B stuff and the two are very interconnected. Buckle up because this one is something.

Here’s the game. Students from India fake their undergraduate degrees and just apply straight to Masters programs. The reasons for this relate to H-1B reqs and other things but also because colleges have gone full woke and stupidly don’t have any way to verify the undergraduate certificates. So they just accept them most of the time. Canada is much worse btw, they have actual diploma mills with like 80k Indian students.

Once the student has been accepted for their masters the fun part begins. They pay people with masters degrees in India to do the work for them and they have people within the masters programs themselves who are complicit (that whole nepotism thing again) to help them. This means they can skate through the masters program without getting caught. While they are “at school” they drive for uber/doordash for money.

Once they “graduate” and finish their masters they are now here illegally so it’s time to defraud the H-1B system. Enter the Indian H-1B consultants.

The grift is basically this. The employee is a “subcontractor” working for the consulting firm and being subcontracted out to one of their clients. The problem is they don’t have a Visa. So the consulting firm just fakes an H-1B Visa. Since it’s the consulting firm’s job to check, the company is none the wiser that they are actually using illegal labor.

Obviously the “contractor” has no idea what they are doing so this work is also outsourced back to someone in India that the H-1B consultant has set up.

The payment is made to the consulting firm and the worker is paid under the table. From what I’ve been told these are very predatory agreements so it usually means the worker has to still drive uber etc.

Once the first contract is finished. They now have real experience to put on their resume with a real reference and everything. So they begin the process of actually applying for their H-1B.

The consultant once again manages the whole process, commits a ton of fraud to get through the lottery system. Finds a company who needs a permanent IT hire. Company then sponsors the candidate and voila. They’ve committed like 10 instances of fraud but the person is now legit, has an H-1B and can work in the US.

Maybe we should rethink that whole “staple a green card to every diploma” idea.
