UK Special Forces Whistleblowers: SAS Had 'Golden Pass' To Murder Unarmed Afghans

Veterans of British special forces operations in Afghanistan have shared with a public inquiry their concerns that noncombatants including juveniles under 16 were regularly murdered in raids targeting Taliban fighters. One senior officer said the elite soldiers had a "golden pass allowing them to get away with murder."

Launched by the Ministry of Defence in December 2022, the Independent Inquiry Relating to Afghanistan was sparked by a BBC documentary that concluded that members of one elite Special Air Service (SAS) unit killed 54 people under questionable circumstances in just six months, with a great many slain after surrendering to detention.

The soldiers giving testimony to the inquiry did not assert they witnessed murderous killings themselves. However, defense ministry documents show that several special forces officers in 2011 had declared their concerns that the SAS seemed to be routinely executing Afghans, with one writing that the SAS and murder were "regular bedfellows."

One of the soldiers testifying to the inquiry, who's identified in inquiry documents as N1799, repeated accounts given him by an SAS member with whom he was training, saying:

"During these operations it was said that 'all fighting age males are killed' on target regardless of the threat they posed, this included those not holding weapons. It was also indicated that 'fighting age males' were being executed on target, inside compounds, using a variety of methods after they had been restrained. In one case it was mentioned a pillow was put over the head of an individual before being killed with a pistol…I suppose what shocked me most wasn't the execution of potential members of the Taliban, which was of course wrong and illegal, but it was more the age and the methods and, you know, the details of things like pillows."

When asked if the victims were as young as 16, the solider said, "Or younger. 100%." Other testimony related to accounts of SAS soldiers fabricating conditions that would be used as a pretext to kill detainees. In particular, SAS operators were said to carry weapons that would be dropped next to detainees, so it could be claimed they were shot in self-defense. "It was also suggested that the [dropped weapon] act was known as a 'Mr Wolf' – supposedly a reference to the fictional fixer Winston Wolfe from the film Pulp Fiction," Sky News explains.

'The View' Co-Host's Husband Accused Of 'Kickback' Insurance Fraud Scheme

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Emmanuel "Manny" Hostin are accused of receiving kickbacks by performing surgery and fraudulently billing a company that insures taxis, Uber, and Lyft drivers, the Daily Mail reports.

In the suit filed in federal court in Brooklyn, Dr. Hostin, 54, is named as the owner of Hostin Orthopaedics, working out of an eighth-floor office on Lexington Avenue close to Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal.

American Transit claims ‘rampant’ insurance fraud is endemic in New York State thanks to its ‘No-Fault Law’ under which insurers must pay up to $50,000 for medical expense for people injured in road accidents.

‘These substantial possible no-fault recoveries can incentivize providers with ill intent to over-diagnose, over-treat, and over-bill to recover the most money for themselves,’ American Transit said in a statement.

"Hostin knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries," reads the lawsuit, which claims the insurance firm American Transit was billed "in exchange for kickbacks and/or other compensation which were disguised as dividends or other cash distributions."

US Government Sues Warren Buffett's Berkshire-Owned Lending Company For Predatory Mortgages

A mortgage lender owned by Warren Buffet’s holding company, Berkshire Hathaway, has been sued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), alleging that the business pushed people into taking unaffordable loans.

The Jan. 6 lawsuit was filed against Tennessee-based Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. The company provides loans for manufactured homes, also known as mobile homes.

“Vanderbilt’s business model ignored clear and obvious red flags that the borrowers could not afford the loans,” the agency said in a statement. “As a result, many families found themselves struggling to make payments and meet basic life necessities.

“Vanderbilt charged many borrowers additional fees and penalties when their loans became delinquent, and some eventually lost their homes.”

Vanderbilt is a subsidiary of Clayton Homes, the largest builder of manufactured homes in the United States. Clayton is, in turn, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Most homes financed by Vanderbilt are manufactured and sold by affiliated companies owned by Clayton.

According to the agency, mobile homes are a “vital source of affordable housing,” especially for millions of low-income and older U.S. citizens. In July, the average sales price of a single-section manufactured home was $88,800, data from the U.S. Census Bureau show. In contrast, the median sales price of houses sold in the second quarter of 2024 was $414,500.

In the complaint, the CFPB alleged that Vanderbilt “manipulated lending standards” when borrowers did not have enough income.

“Vanderbilt often disregarded evidence that borrowers did not have sufficient income or assets (other than the value of their home) to pay their mortgage and cover recurring obligations and basic living expenses, like food and health care,” the statement said.

“Sometimes, Vanderbilt originated loans for borrowers who were already struggling, making their financial situation worse.”

For instance, in one incident, the company allegedly approved a loan for a household with 33 debts in collection. Just eight months after getting the mortgage, the family fell behind in payments, court documents state.

Vanderbilt also made “artificially low estimates” of borrowers’ living expenses to justify they could pay back the loans, the CFPB claimed.

In one case, the company assumed “unreasonably low” monthly living expenses for a household of five members that only left them with $57.78 in net income, the lawsuit said. Vanderbilt went on to approve the loan, and the family missed the payment after a year, going into default, it said.

Furthermore,Vanderbiltapproved loans to borrowers who the company had projected “could not pay” back the debts, the CFPB said.

Following Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement that Facebook and Instagram will no longer defer to ‘fact checkers’ because they are too politically partisan, the International Fact-Checking Network has convened an emergency meeting, presumably to discuss their impending obsoletion.

Zuckerberg put out a video noting that Meta will be switching to a ‘Community notes’ type system much like X has. He also announced that Meta intend to “restore free expression” on its platforms.

While that remains to be seen, it’s all a part of Zuckerberg’s apparent ‘awakening’ and realisation that he was being used as a tool of oppressive censorship and control by powerful elites.

In response to Zuck’s announcements, the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) has convened an emergency meeting of its members to brainstorm how it will go forward now it has lost influence over two more huge social media platforms.

CA, Struggling With Massive Wildfires, Sent ‘Surplus’ Firefighting Equipment to Ukraine.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) and several other departments across the United States sent supposedly “surplus” equipment, including fire engines and ambulances, to Ukraine over the past several years. According to critics, this has left the first responders in the U.S. depleted in the face of natural disasters, including the catastrophic floods in North Carolina and Tennessee, as well as the massive wildfires currently engulfing some of Los Angeles’s largest suburbs.

In 2022, the LACoFD announced it was sending surplus “hoses, nozzles, turnouts, helmets, body armor, and other associated personal protective equipment” to Ukraine to aid first responders amid the Russian invasion. Additionally, fire engines from Kern County, in central California, were donated to Ukraine—possibly limiting the ability to rush units from other parts of the state to Los Angeles to help combat the current conflagrations, which have seen thousands of acres and homes burned.

Israeli Spyware Firm NSO Group Found Liable For Hacks Of WhatsApp Users

A California court recently ruled against the Israeli firm NSO Group which has become infamous for hacking numerous encrypted platforms.

In late December the Northern District of California ruled against Israeli spyware firm NSO Group, finding the controversial firm liable for hacking and a breach of contract.

The ruling was the latest in a five year battle between NSO Group and WhatsApp over the Israeli company’s Pegasus spyware infiltrating WhatsApp’s servers to spy on WhatsApp users.

Overall, the ruling was a win for WhatsApp with the court finding in favor of their motions for sanctions against NSO Group. However, the court also ruled against elements of WhatsApp’s sanctions request.

The court found that NSO Group is subject to evidentiary sanctions for refusing to comply with discovery requests after the court ordered the company to comply and produce various documents. The company is notorious for attempting to impede lawsuits by refusing to provide relevant information, including a now dropped lawsuit filed by Apple.

NSO Group used their malicious spyware known as Pegasus to infiltrate and monitor devices and extract information using what are known as zero-click exploits. This means that a user does not need to click on a link or download a program for a hacker to access their devices. Instead, Pegasus exploits existing software like WhatApp’s servers.

In this specific case, NSO Group was found liable for hacking journalists and employees of El Faro, an independent publication which primarily serves Central America. NSO Group and clients using their spyware used the zero-click exploits to install Pegasus on iPhones of 22 employees of El Faro between June 2020 and November 2021.

The court found that NSO Group exceeded its “authorized access” to WhatsApp’s servers and breached WhatsApp’s terms of service by transmitting its infiltration code and learning information about target devices through WhatsApp’s servers. The court found NSO Group liable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (“CFAA”), California Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act (“CDAFA”), and for breach of contract.

Damages will be decided at a trial in 2025.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) called the ruling a “win for the journalists, activists, politicians, and everyday users that NSO Group targets to help authoritarian governments”.

EPIC filed an amicus brief against NSO Group arguing that foreign spyware is not exempt under the CFAA when the exploited computers are located in the United States. In their brief, EPIC noted that, “Unlike a one-click attack, which requires a target to click on a link in order to trigger the attack, a zero-click attack downloads and installs spyware on the target’s device without the target’s involvement or awareness, making it all but impossible for even sophisticated smartphone users to prevent or detect attacks.”

Biden Confirms He Is Considering Preemptively Pardoning Anthony Fauci

President Joe Biden confirmed in an interview with USA Today that he is considering preemptive pardons for Dr. Anthony Fauci and former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney.

Following Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter (after months of insisting he would not do so), Politico reported that the president was considering pardoning those he thinks President-elect Donald Trump may target, including Fauci, Cheney and Democratic California Sen. Adam Schiff. Biden told USA Today that he has not made a decision on whether or not he will pardon them in his last 12 days in office and that it depends on who Trump appoints to his cabinet.

“Well, a little bit of it depends on who he puts in what positions. If in fact, he … here’s how … I was very straightforward with Trump when he got elected. I invited him immediately to the White House. I spent two hours with him,” the president said about the preemptive pardons.

“He talked about, he was very complimentary about some of the economic things I had done. And he talked about − he thought I was leaving with a good record, kind of thing. I tried to make it clear that there was no need, and it was counterintuitive for his interest to go back and try to settle scores,” he added.

USA Today Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page asked the president if Trump gave him an answer on what he planned on doing once sworn in to office. Biden said he did not give him an answer and “just basically listened.”

“So you haven’t decided yet. You’re still assessing this issue?” Page asked.

“Well, no, I have not. For example, I think there are certain people like, if he were to, I don’t want to name their names. I’ll tell you off the record. [REDACTED]. But there are other parties that we’re following through on to determine that, rectifying some of the, correcting powder-cocaine difference, things like that,” the president responded. USA Today redacted information told to the outlet off the record.

“More traditional kind of pardons,” Page followed up.

“Yeah,” Biden responded.

“This is very illegal,” Matthew Hardin, a lawyer specializing in issues related to FOIA, previously told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“The Federal Records Act has strict requirements for preserving agency records in the agency’s custody for various reasons, including for purposes of facilitating the agency’s compliance with the Freedom of Information Act,” he continued. “This means that anybody conducting agency business through a ‘secret’ back channel or through Gmail is still creating a federal record, even if they are wrongfully concealing that record on a personal account instead of the government’s custody.”

280 Dead in Heavy Turkish-backed Fighting Over Northern Syria’s Tishreen Dam

199 SNA fighters among the killed in intense offensive

While much of the fighting between the Turkey-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) and the US-backed Kurdish SDF has centered on the cities of Manbij and Kobani, the largest focus in recent days has been the Tishreen Dam, a major hydroelectric dam on the Euphrates River.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, some 280 people have been killed so far in the battle over the dam. The split is 199 SNA fighters, 56 SDF fighters, and 25 civilians, including five women and two children.

Together with the Taqba Dam further east down the Euphrates River, Tishreen Dam provides approximately 90% of northeastern Syria’s electricity. Concerns are growing that Turkey is taking more and more water share on the river, while the river’s water level has been low in recent years.

The SDF has bragged it foiled attacks on metro Manbij and the Tishreen Dam, reporting the SNA attacks were backed by both Turkish artillery and air support. There have been multiple reports of Turkish drone strikes around the area in recent days.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), the SDF’s political ally, expressed concern about the continued attacks on Tishreen Dam, warning the dam has yet to be restored to full, normal operation. If continued Turkish attacks put it out of commission, AANES cautions this would be a humanitarian disaster in the region.

Turkey remains confident about its gains in the area, despite not having yet taken the dam. Yesterday Turkey’s foreign minister stated that they believe it is only a matter of time before the YPG is wiped out. The YPG is the largest member organization making up the SDF.

Tishreen Dam is simply the latest target in Turkey’s overall goal of undermining Kurdish autonomy in northeastern Syria. Turkey further appears to have set its sights on Tabqa and the Raqqa Province as well, once it takes Manbij, Kobani, and the Tishreen Dam.

Israeli attacks on Tuesday included heavy strikes on Gaza City. According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, at least eight Palestinians were killed by Israeli shelling and drone fire in areas east of Gaza City.

Al Jazeera reported a strike on a home in Gaza City, but the number of casualties is unclear as bodies remained under the rubble. “We are still looking for loved ones. We’re still trying to recover them from under the rubble,” said Khalil Abed, a survivor of the attack. “We’re just using our hands to find them because we don’t have any tools. The Israelis attacked us without warning.”

Israeli strikes also hit central Gaza, killing at least three Palestinians in the Bureij refugee camp and two in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Louisiana Democrat Mayor Arrested in Shocking Drug and Prostitution Scandal — Accused of Using Taxpayer Dollars to Fund Airbnb for Escort

Bogalusa, Louisiana, the city already grappling with the scourge of drug-related violence, was rocked this week by the arrest of its youngest-ever mayor, 25-year-old Tyrin Truong.

Truong, a Democrat hailed as a rising star in his party after unseating long-time Mayor Wendy Perrette in 2022, now faces a litany of criminal charges, including allegations of drug trafficking, unauthorized use of a moveable, and soliciting prostitutes — actions that reportedly involved the misuse of taxpayer funds.

The Louisiana State Police Narcotics/Violent Crime Task Force announced Tuesday that an extensive investigation into a local drug trafficking organization had led to the arrest of Truong and six others.

“On Tuesday, Jan 7, 2025 at approximately 8:30 AM, Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Truong was booked into the Washington Parish Jail on one count of soliciting for prostitutes, one count of unauthorized use of a movable, and two counts of transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses. No bail has been set at this time,” the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook.

Authorities allege that the organization distributed opioids, high-grade marijuana, THC products, and MDMA, using social media platforms to coordinate sales and payments.

According to the news release, “In April 2024, the Louisiana State Police Narcotics/Violent Crime Task Force (NVCTF) initiated a comprehensive investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating in the Bogalusa area. This joint operation, conducted over several months in collaboration with the 22nd Judicial District Court District Attorney’s Office, the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office, and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) revealed the DTO’s involvement in the distribution of various Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), including opioids, high-grade marijuana, THC products, and MDMA.”

“Investigators uncovered that members of the DTO were utilizing social media platforms to distribute CDS and manage payments, further expanding their reach and criminal activity. The investigation also determined that profits from drug sales were used to purchase firearms. Some of these firearms were funneled to individuals prohibited from legal possession, while others were linked to violent crimes in the Bogalusa area.”

Disturbingly, profits from these illegal activities were reportedly used to purchase firearms, some of which ended up in the hands of individuals prohibited from owning weapons and were linked to violent crimes in the region, CBS News reported.

Truong is accused of not only participating in these illegal activities but also using his position and public funds for personal gratification, according to Daily Mail.

According to Northshore District Attorney Collin Sims, Truong rented an Airbnb in Atlanta during a mayoral conference and “organized entertainment with a prostitute” using taxpayer money.

“This conduct is not going to be tolerated,” Sims said. “The citizens of Bogalusa deserve better, and we’re not finished. We’re just getting started.”

On Tuesday evening, Truong was released from jail, according to WWLTV.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is reportedly working with the United Nations (UN) to launch a “new global pandemic.”

Gates and the UN have been quietly planning to usher in “Operation Catastrophic Contagion,” according to a new report from Infowars founder Alex Jones.

Jones warns that the plan involves unleashing the human metapneumovirus (HMPV) on the general public.

A new HMPV virus outbreak in China is reportedly overwhelming hospitals, experts have warned.
