Regarding Trump being added to Mt. Rushmore:
I believe the sculptor Gutzon Borglum originally attempted to place Jefferson's face on the left side of the monument but was forced to blast away that work due to flaws and fractures in the rock. Jefferson was moved to the right of Washington.
"The image of Thomas Jefferson was originally intended to appear in the area at Washington's right, but after the work there was begun, the rock was found to be unsuitable, so the work on Jefferson's figure was dynamited, and a new figure was sculpted to Washington's left.[31]

I believe the same problem exists with the rock on the right side on the monument. No sauce for that that but I seem to recall reading that while visiting Rushmore about 30 years ago. There are several working models onsite in the workshop on the mountain that depicts faces in different locations.
