Hun Sen claims terror drone attack plot on Takhmao home
February 11, 2025
Senate President Hun Sen has revealed that terrorists have been planning a drone attack on his residence in Takhmao city, Cambodia, in recent weeks with the intent to kill him.
He disclosed the terrorist plot publicly during the inauguration of a school building at Wat Preah In Samak Dham in Ang Snuol district, Kandal province, yesterday.
Mr Hun Sen stated that he had learned about the plot in advance through a secret voice message and urged foreigners to be cautious about supporting any terrorist activities.
“There is a plot to attack Takhmao by drones. You want to kill me. This is terrorism, and I ask foreigners to be careful not to support terrorist activities,” he said.
Although he did not identify people behind the plot, his revelation comes amid opposition groups abroad announcing the formation of a government in exile and inciting efforts to overthrow the government.
Mr Hun Sen also called on foreigners not to interfere in Cambodia’s internal affairs as the nation works to manage its national security.
Yang Peou, Secretary-General of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, believes that any attempt to attack Mr Hun Sen’s house in Takhmao city is a direct assault on the security of Cambodia’s leadership.
He noted that Mr Hun Sen is a widely recognised leader both nationally and internationally, and such an attack would severely impact Cambodia’s political stability.
Peou suggested that the plot might be orchestrated by extremist politicians aiming to create internal tensions.
He added, “This is a matter that Cambodia’s security forces must investigate extremists for attempting to incite insecurity.
The military has faced conflicts over security issues, so for Cambodia, Samdech Techo was aware of the drone plot in advance and prevented it, but we must remain vigilant about security.”
Peou also recalled the 1998 assassination attempt on Mr Hun Sen when an assassin fired a B40 rocket at his convoy en route to the Royal Residence in Siem Reap city. Fortunately, the rocket did not explode.
He emphasised that the latest drone attack threat demands heightened security for leaders like Mr Hun Sen, who play a crucial role in ensuring Cambodia’s political stability, peace and development.
Sek Socheat, a consultant on development and research, expressed concern about the potential consequences for Cambodian society should a leader be targeted with a drone attack.
He noted that this issue is not only a matter of national security but also one that requires specialised authorities to investigate and determine the cause of the attack attempt.
“Any attempt to harm another person, whether a leader or an ordinary citizen, violates the rule of law and must be addressed based on evidence,” he said.

NATS outlines revolutionary path to drone integration
11 February 2025
NATS today announced the launch of its whitepaper 'Advancing Aviation through Integration of Drones in the UK’s Low-Level Airspace', highlighting how Project CAELUS demonstrates a successful path towards integrating traditional ATM with drone traffic by leveraging NATS Services’ new Concept of Operations (CONOPs).
The whitepaper outlining key learnings and recommendations from the successful completion of Project CAELUS – part of UKRI's Future Flight Challenge – represents a critical step towards the safe and efficient integration of drones into the existing air traffic management environment.
Central to the project was the creation and validation of a revolutionary new Concept of Operations (CONOPs), which lays the groundwork for routine drone operations in the UK.
It includes the development of 'Master Control Room' interface as a bridge between crewed and uncrewed air traffic operations, something NATS considers essential to achieving a fully integrated airspace.
Through both simulated and live flight trials, NATS was able to demonstrate how technology developed for the Master Control Room could be used to safely integrate uncrewed traffic in controlled and uncontrolled airspace, while minimising disruption to current air traffic operations.
This included the use of intelligent airspace management tools to authorise low-altitude, Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flight plans, providing deconfliction advice and instructions to drone operators and monitoring notifications related to airspace restrictions and specific missions.
All this was achieved while maintaining oversight to ensure safe and efficient operations.
While focused on the delivery of critical medical supplies, the progress made through Project CAELUS helps lay the groundwork for the full commercialisation of drones in the UK across a whole host of other industries, promoting the development of a safe, cost-effective, and thriving low-level airspace economy.
Richard Ellis, New Airspace Users Director, NATS Services said: “Through Project CAELUS we’ve been able to demonstrate the safe and efficient integration of drones into UK airspace.
By successfully operating BVLOS flights, validating the CONOPs and our Master Control Room concept, we have taken a significant step towards realising the full potential of drone technology for healthcare and other industries.
We are now eager to continue to work with industry and regulators to translate these learnings into a clear pathway for commercial drone operations in the UK and beyond."
Other key findings highlighted by NATS include the critical need for strong partnerships across the entire aviation ecosystem.
This includes the use of cloud-based technology to support high-fidelity data sharing, allowing all stakeholders to operate in real time with a common understanding of the airspace.
Gareth Bowen, New Airspace Users Solutions Consultant, NATS Services added: “While Project CAELUS has successfully demonstrated the feasibility of safe and integrated drone operations, we recognise the critical need for additional research into data-driven intelligent operations.
The future of drone integration depends on a system capable of effectively analysing massive amounts of data, predicting, and mitigating potential conflicts, and optimising operations to accommodate the expected increase in drone traffic.
This approach will be critical for the long-term scalability and sustainability of the drone industry.”

YLE: Multiple drone sightings reported near Finnish gunpowder factory
11/02/2025
Police are investigating several possible unauthorized drone flights near the Nammo gunpowder factory in Vihtavuori village, located in central Finland’s Laukaa municipality.
Finnish authorities have confirmed multiple drone sightings within the no-fly zone surrounding the facility.
Initially handled by regional police, the case has now been transferred to Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation (KRP) for further investigation, YLE reported on 11 February.
This comes amid heightened Russian sabotage and espionage activity in the EU, with Germany investigating six drone incidents over the Schwesing Air Force base in January, where Ukrainian troops are training on Patriot missile defense systems.
According to KRP detective superintendent Jussi Luoto, authorities have recorded several drone sightings in the area, including one incident that reportedly took place last week.
“The investigation is in its early stages,” Luoto stated, adding that further disclosures could hinder progress.
Local police had previously been investigating reports of a drone flying within a no-fly zone near the factory in late January. At the time, the case was classified as an aviation safety violation.
The Nammo group, which operates the Vihtavuori facility, declined to comment to YLE on the drone activity. The factory is a major producer of gunpowder, making security breaches a matter of national concern.
Finland previously reported that the crew of the Russian shadow fleet’s oil tanker Eagle S, suspected of damaging undersea cables, was preparing to target additional infrastructure when the vessel was intercepted.

London Skies in Chaos as British Airways Jet Evades Catastrophic Drone Crash by Inches in a Hair-Raising Incident
Tuesday, February 11, 2025
A British Airways jet narrowly avoided a catastrophic collision with a drone near London City Airport, coming within 10 feet in a terrifying near-miss incident.
A British Airways plane narrowly avoided a catastrophic collision with a drone, coming within just 10 feet of impact near London City Airport.
The incident, classified as a “Category A” event, indicates there was a “serious risk” of a collision, according to official reports.
The flight, operated by BA’s Cityflyer regional carrier, was four nautical miles northwest of London when the alarming event occurred.
The crew of the Embraer 190 aircraft reported spotting a lit object at 6:10 PM on October 31 while flying at an altitude of 3,000 feet, as confirmed by Thames radar controllers.
In the UK, drone regulations prohibit flights above 400 feet, making this occurrence not only dangerous but also illegal.
Despite notifying London City Airport’s control tower and the police, the unidentified object was never located or officially identified.
A report by the UK Airprox Board highlighted the severity of the situation, stating there was a “definite risk of collision,” and praised the pilots for their quick, instinctive response in avoiding disaster.
Previous Incidents Raise Alarming Trends
This is not an isolated case. In January 2024, another British Airways flight carrying 180 passengers had a similarly close encounter with a drone over Kent.
The aircraft, an A321, had just departed Heathrow en route to Greece when the drone came within five feet of its wing and just 30 feet from the cockpit.
Traveling at 250 mph and flying at 9,600 feet, the near-miss was described by the UK Airprox Board as one of the closest calls for a British Airways aircraft.
Pilots reported the drone as shockingly close, further emphasizing the growing risks posed by unauthorized drone operations near commercial air traffic.
With incidents like these becoming more frequent, authorities are under increasing pressure to enforce stricter measures to protect air safety and prevent future emergencies.

Ukraine Drones Strike Russian Oil Hubs, Strategic Airbase, Helicopter Plant
Feb 11, 2025 at 6:00 AM EST
Ukrainian drones have attacked multiple Russian oil hubs, a strategic airbase, and a helicopter plant in the past 72 hours.
Newsweek reached out to Russia's Foreign Ministry for comment via email on Tuesday.
Ukraine has ramped up drone strikes on facilities in Russia that play a role in supporting the country's war efforts.
These targets include airfields, military plants, ammunition depots and warehouses, and also oil hubs and refineries, which have supplied President Vladimir Putin's military with fuel in the ongoing conflict, which began on February 24, 2022.
Kyiv has maintained that these attacks are in response to Russia's strikes on Ukrainian soil throughout the war.
The victims of Ukraine's latest drone barrage on Russian soil include an oil plant owned by Rosneft, the country's largest producer of oil, and a strategic bomber base—both located in the Saratov region, according to local Telegram channels.
Head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, said the Rosneft oil hub was struck in the Ukrainian drone attack. It provides Russia's military with fuel in the ongoing war.
Saratov regional governor, Roman Busargin, said Ukrainian drones targeted and damaged an industrial enterprise, but didn't say the oil hub had been hit.
There were no casualties as a result of the attack, he said. Videos appeared to show fires in the area.
In the nearby city of Engels, local residents said they heard loud explosions and sounds similar to machine gun fire from a military airfield at around 4 a.m. Videos published by Telegram channels showed explosions.
The airfield is used by Russia's military station its Tu-95MS and Tu-160 jets, which launch cruise missile strikes against Ukraine and are nuclear-capable.
The ASTRA Telegram channel, a project run by independent Russian journalists, said Monday that a helicopter plant, an oil pipeline, and multiple oil refineries had been attacked by drones over the past two days.
The targets included oil depot and oil stations and a helicopter plant in the Rostov region, oil refineries in Krasnodar Krai, and an oil pipeline in the Volgograd region, the channel said.
Roman Busargin, governor of Russia's Saratov region, said on Telegram on Tuesday: "Our air defense systems eliminated the [Ukrainian] drones.
There is damage at an industrial enterprise in Saratov. Emergency services are operating in the places where [drone] debris may have fallen. There are no casualties."
Ukraine's attacks on military targets on Russian soil appear set to continue as U.S. President Donald Trump attempts to broker peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv during his second term in the White House.

French fighters shoot down 10 Shahed drones
Feb 11, 2025
French Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets have demonstrated strong performance in countering Houthi-operated Shahed-type drones while patrolling the skies over Yemen.
The Militarnyi news agency quoted the French Air and Space Force Chief of Staff General Jérôme Bellanger who said that the aircraft successfully intercepted and destroyed approximately ten drones in recent operations.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received the first Mirage 2000-5 fighters transferred by France. These jets will play a direct role in Ukraine’s defense,” General Bellanger wrote.
“In the French Air and Space Force, both the Mirage 2000-5 and Rafale have recently proven their effectiveness against Shahed-type suicide drones, which Ukrainian pilots will also have to confront.”
A recently released video showcases a pilot’s perspective of a Mirage 2000-5F shooting down a Shahed drone using an MICA air-to-air missile.
The footage highlights the precision and rapid response capability of the aircraft in neutralizing aerial threats.
French military operations in Yemen have included these fighter jets as part of their broader efforts to maintain regional stability.
On March 9, 2024, the French Armed Forces General Staff announced that as part of Operation ASPIDES, a French frigate and accompanying fighter jets intercepted four kamikaze drones launched by Houthi rebels from Yemeni territory.
The drones were reportedly targeting the multi-role frigate Alsace.
The success of the Mirage 2000-5F in these engagements further underscores its reliability as an air defense platform.
With France now supplying Ukraine with these aircraft, Ukrainian pilots will have access to a proven air defense tool against the increasing threat posed by Russian and Iranian-made drones.
The Mirage 2000-5F’s success in Yemen suggests it will be a valuable asset in Ukraine’s efforts to counter the persistent drone warfare on its territory.

The 1996 ‘Hungarian Roswell’ UFO incident: leaked documents reveal alleged crash and live alien capture
FEBRUARY 11, 2025
On 18 September 1996, a mysterious aerial incident occurred in Hungary, often referred to as the “Hungarian Roswell.” According to a Slovak UFO researcher, leaked secret documents from the Hungarian Air Force describe the crash of an extraterrestrial craft and the capture of a living alien being. A Hungarian fighter pilot allegedly collided with an unidentified flying object, which then crashed to the ground. At the crash site, two alien bodies were reportedly discovered—one deceased and the other alive, according to Texas UFO Sightings. According to the documents, the exact location of the incident cannot be determined.
The living alien at the Hungarian Roswell
Reports suggest that the surviving extraterrestrial was a small humanoid, with whom both the Hungarian and Slovak governments attempted to communicate. The leaked documents contain the following details:
Attempts at Communication: The alien reportedly did not respond to any form of communication.
Hostile Behavior: Military experts speculated that the entity harboured resentment towards its captors and may have been planning an escape.
Mysterious Energies: According to the documents, the alien allegedly attempted to use “cosmic energy” in an escape effort.
The UFO’s technology
The leaked files also provide insights into the technological anomalies of the crashed craft.
One particularly intriguing theory suggests that its propulsion system relied on an unknown magnetic force and drew upon external cosmic energy for flight.
Eyewitnesses and cover-ups
According to the documents, Hungarian and Slovak authorities were concerned about potential witnesses:
Disappearing Witnesses: A key eyewitness allegedly vanished under mysterious circumstances.
Secret Operation: The military reportedly classified the incident under the codename “Second Object” and ordered a strict information blackout.
The pilot and official reports
The credibility of the leaked documents is bolstered by the fact that the pilot involved in the collision, Attila Dobay, is a real individual.
Official records confirm that in September 1996, a Hungarian fighter jet crashed due to hydraulic failure, forcing the pilot to eject.
While the crash is a documented event, its true causes remain undisclosed. The authenticity of the leaked documents remains a topic of debate, but one thing is certain: the incident has a basis in reality.
UFO researchers argue that this case should be given the same level of scrutiny as the Roswell incident and call for further investigation.
If these documents are genuine, Hungary might be home to one of the most significant UFO events ever, potentially kept secret by the government for decades.

Steven Greer Talks UFOs, E.T.s, and Government Cover-ups at Imagine Museum
February 11, 2025
Anyone who’s visited Imagine Museum in St. Petersburg has seen multiple exhibits of extra-terrestrial-themed glass artwork.
Among them is an installation by the museum’s founder, Trish Duggan and Bertil Valien’s Visitor Beacon.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that the museum would host UFO and extra-terrestrial expert Steven Greer.
The retired emergency room doctor gave two sold-out lectures on his decades long research called The Disclosure Project.
Steven Greer at Imagine Museum
For more than 35 years, Greer has collected evidence of the U.S. government’s cover-up of the existence of UFOs and extra-terrestrial intelligence.
He’s made five documentaries, written six books on the subject, and presented briefings on the matter to government officials across the globe.
The lecture took place in the museum’s first floor lobby among glass alien-head statues and mobiles of planets.
Greer spoke in front of the massive triangular Blue Eye of the Pyramid sculpture. The entourage of Duggan, Greer and staff arrived from a passageway.
Duggan wore a black cloak with a flying saucer stitched on the front —very apropos for the event —and took to the stage to introduce her friend, Greer.
Greer stepped on the stage to thunderous applause.
For the next hour, Greer presented a dizzying amount of information about actual UFOs. Specifically, he spoke of the ones manufactured by the U.S. the government.
He elaborated on the idea that the government actively conducts “alien” abductions and the lengths the government has gone to cover all of this up.
From Greer’s lecture, it appears that humankind isn’t ready for the kind of peaceful contact the extra-terrestrials want. We are basically war-mongering, planet-destroying heathens that no one in the multiverse wants to have any part of.
The good news is, if all governments across the world come together, the interstellar civilizations will finally accept us.
Galactic Peace
Was Greer convincing? He was to this crowd, based on the gasps and murmurs that punctuated the lecture.
One woman asked, “What can we do?” during audience questions. The answer was to contact your legislators.
Greer is getting ready to present The Disclosure Project’s 2025 briefing document to the Trump administration.
It makes sense that Greer has a following. Most people have some skepticism about government transparency.
Add to that the existential notion that we couldn’t possibly be the only life forms in the universe. It is understandable that people are seeking answers.
To quote another relentless believer, Agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files, the truth is out there.
