Kiev plans to increase attacks on Russian infrastructure and the population, Aleksandr Bortnikov has warned

“The Kiev regime is going all in on terrorism, ramping up its sabotage and terrorist acts,” Bortnikov said.

Microplastics in the bloodstream can induce cerebral thrombosis by causing cell obstruction and lead to neurobehavioral abnormalities

Abstract

Human health is being threatened by environmental microplastic (MP) pollution. MPs were detected in the bloodstream and multiple tissues of humans, disrupting the regular physiological processes of organs. Nanoscale plastics can breach the blood-brain barrier, leading to neurotoxic effects. How MPs cause brain functional irregularities remains unclear. This work uses high-depth imaging techniques to investigate the MPs within the brain in vivo. We show that circulating MPs are phagocytosed and lead these cells to obstruction in the capillaries of the brain cortex. These blockages as thrombus formation cause reduced blood flow and neurological abnormalities in mice. Our data reveal a mechanism by which MPs disrupt tissue function indirectly through regulation of cell obstruction and interference with local blood circulation, rather than direct tissue penetration. This revelation offers a lens through which to comprehend the toxicological implications of MPs that invade the bloodstream.

French Far-Left Leader Mélenchon Openly Calls For Great Replacement In Shock Speech

“We are destined to be a Creole nation and so much the better”

In two speeches given less than 24 hours apart in the French city of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Mélenchon delivered some of the most shocking yet brutally honest words from a European politician, openly calling for the older French to be replaced by a “Creole” generation of mixed races and cultures.

The leader of France’s far-left LFI is calling outright for replacement of White French people, conjuring up the Great Replacement term that has been demonized as a conspiracy theory by the left for years.

“In our country, one person in four has a foreign grandparent. 40% of the population speaks at least two languages. We are destined to be a Creole nation and so much the better! May the young generation be the great replacement for the old generation,” said Mélenchon.

According to the dictionary, Creole is defined as a “a person of mixed European and black descent, especially in the Caribbean.”

He also goes on to make a number of further statements, saying the new immigrants need “to heal France from the wounds of racism.” According to Euronews, France is among the five European countries with the least discrimination. Furthermore, he makes inflammatory statements, calling for “torch-bearers” to bring about change, which has revolutionary undertones, although he stops short of any calls for direct violence.

South African party files treason charges against white group

uMkhonto weSizwe claims that AfriForum has lobbied a “foreign government” to sabotage Pretoria’s economy

Former South African President Jacob Zuma’s party, uMkhonto weSizwe (MK), has filed a complaint against white Afrikaner minority group AfriForum, accusing it of treason after US President Donald Trump cut aid to the country over a controversial new law.

The opposition MK Party announced the move on Monday, claiming AfriForum has “deliberately lobbied foreign powers” to undermine South Africa’s sovereignty and economic interests.

“Their betrayal is nothing less than an act of economic sabotage, a direct assault on our nation’s independence and a dangerous attempt to undermine the will of the people,” the party said in a statement.

Last week, Trump ordered a halt to any financial assistance to South Africa, citing an expropriation law Pretoria has passed to address racial disparities in land ownership and its genocide case against US ally Israel. The US president accused Pretoria of “shocking disregard of its citizens’ rights” and alleged that newly adopted legislation allows the government to confiscate agricultural property from Afrikaners without compensation.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has rejected the claims, insisting that his government “has not confiscated any land.”

Afrikaners are descendants of European colonists, mostly from the Netherlands, who arrived in what would become modern South Africa in the 17th century. Africa’s most advanced economy extended voting rights to all adults in 1994 and ended decades of apartheid, but white farmers still own the majority of land in the country. Pretoria has set a target of transferring 30% of farmland to black farmers by 2030.

AfriForum has lobbied against the legislation in the US and through media campaigns, claiming it violates property rights. On February 3, the non-profit group warned that it will ask Washington to impose sanctions on Ramaphosa and members of his party, the African National Congress (ANC), instead of punishing “South Africa’s residents.”

Judge Blocks Federal Government From Cutting Medical Research Funding

U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley entered a temporary restraining order on Feb. 10 preventing the federal government from cutting medical research funding in 22 states in response to a lawsuit filed in federal court in Massachusetts.

The order is in place until further word from the court, Kelley said.

Government lawyers were also ordered to, within 24 hours, and at biweekly intervals thereafter, confirm with the judge that they are regularly disbursing medical research funding in the states, which include Arizona, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Oregon.

California, New York, and Massachusetts receive the most funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The legal challenge targets the U.S. National Institutes of Health directive that imposes a lower cap on indirect research costs for institutions receiving government funding after a quarter of $35 billion in NIH research funds went to indirect costs in 2024.

The new cap was set in the Feb. 7 directive at 15 percent, which is largely in line with private funding limits, and down from what the NIH said was an average of 27 percent to 28 percent.

“The United States should have the best medical research in the world. It is accordingly vital to ensure that as many funds as possible go towards direct scientific research costs rather than administrative overhead,” according to an NIH memorandum from the agency’s Office of the Director.

Egypt has announced an emergency Arab summit to be held on February 27 in response to US President Donald Trump's recent call to expel Palestinians from Gaza. Trump said he plans to take over the Gaza Strip, transfer its Palestinian population to other countries, and rebuild the territory into the "Riviera of the Middle East".

The US leader further questioned why Palestinians would ever want to return there when asked whether they would be allowed to return. Speaking at a White House press conference last Tuesday, with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu looking on, Trump said that Egypt and Jordan would "give us the kind of land that we need to get this done".

On Sunday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that it has communicated with several Arab countries in light of the "escalating developments in the Palestinian issue".

"Over the past few days, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty made a series of phone calls with several Arab counterparts to mass regional efforts in a bid to thwart the US proposal of displacing the Palestinian people," the ministry said.

Trump's announcement last week sparked confused and angry reactions across the globe, with Hamas rejecting his surprise plans on Gaza, saying it was aimed at eliminating the Palestinian cause.

Egypt and Jordan have rejected the plan outright, with their leaders, foreign ministers, and several senior officials expressing their opposition. Arab diplomats stressed to Haaretz the gravity of the US president's remarks on Cairo and Amman, noting that they are taking them "very seriously".

Middle East Eye learned in early February that Jordan is ready to declare war on Israel in the event that Netanyahu attempts to forcibly expel Palestinians into its territory.

Well-placed sources in Amman and Jerusalem told MEE that the last thing Jordan wants is war and it is eager for a peaceful solution. But they are adamant that the Jordanians will close the border if refugees begin to cross into the country.

One source told MEE that Trump's proposal was an "existential issue" both for Jordan and the Hashemite dynasty, pointing out that the country is the third-poorest in terms of water in the world.

Meanwhile, MEE has also revealed that Trump's explosive comments earlier this month had sent shockwaves across Egyptian diplomatic and intelligence circles, Two diplomatic sources - one Egyptian and one Arab - revealed that Arab countries, led by Egypt, are scrambling to offer alternatives to Trump’s displacement plan.

Israeli officials have admitted to The New York Times that Hamas’s claims about Israel violating the Gaza ceasefire are accurate.

The report, which cited three Israeli officials and two officials from mediating countries who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that Israel agreed to let in hundreds of thousands of tents as part of the ceasefire deal, which hasn’t happened.

The Israeli military command overseeing operations in the occupied West Bank has expanded its “open fire orders,” leading to a surge in the killing of Palestinian civilians by IDF troops, Haaretz reported on Monday.

One of the orders allows Israeli troops to fire on unarmed Palestinians if they are “messing with the ground.” The claim is that this order is necessary to prevent explosives from being planted, but sources told Haaretz it has made soldiers “trigger happy.”

The other order allows Israeli troops to open fire on any vehicles approaching Israeli military checkpoints that are leaving combat zones to force them to stop. Since the combat zones are residential areas, this means the IDF can open fire on civilians trying to flee.

Sources told Haaretz that the husband was shot and killed while driving near Tulkarm, and Shalabi was shot dead after managing to get out of the car. BENGALURU: The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) (India) received a hoax threat on Saturday (February 8), just before the start of Aero India 2025.

The anonymous email warned of a possible drone strike targeting incoming flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kerala, according to airport police.

The threat was linked to a communication sent to former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

An FIR has been filed against an unknown individual by the BIAL police under sections 125 (acts endangering life or public safety), 351(4) (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication), and 353 (circulating statements aimed at public mischief) of the BNS Act 2023.

With the Aero India show taking place at Yelahanka from February 10 to 14 and flights arriving in the city from across India and abroad, security at the airport was ramped up following the email threat.

The message, sent from the email address mahanteshs6699@proton.me, referenced a letter previously sent to former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Three senior aides to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were indicted on charges of witness intimidation on Tuesday, for having sent a car with a megaphone to the home of a key witness in Netanyahu’s criminal trial in 2019 in order to harass him.

The three aides indicted were Ofer Golan, who served as a spokesman for the Netanyahu family and the director of the Likud election campaign in 2019; Jonatan Urich, who served at the time as a strategic adviser and a senior official in Likud’s election campaign staff; and Yisrael Einhorn, who served as a Likud spokesman.

Golan and Urich still work in similar positions.

The State Attorney’s Office said State Attorney Amit Aisman had decided to file the indictment, which carries a potential three-year prison sentence, following several hearings held with the suspects in recent months.

Golan and Urich denounced Aisman for having taken nearly six years to file the charges and noted that the prosecutor in the State Attorney’s office who initially dealt with the case had recommended it be closed. Their attorney, Amit Hadad, said the prosecutor had said the three men would be acquitted if the case went to trial.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, the prosecutor had recommended closing the case due to questions surrounding the admissibility of evidence relating to how it was gathered by the police, but said prosecutors believe there is still enough for a conviction.

In 2019, Netanyahu was under investigation for wrongdoing during the three years he served as communications minister, in addition to serving as prime minister, between 2014 and 2017. Netanyahu appointed Shlomo (Momo) Filber to serve as the director general of the ministry, who went on to turn state witness against him.

Netanyahu was ultimately indicted for what became known as Case 4000, one of three cases in which the premier is currently on trial.

According to the indictment filed Tuesday, Golan, Urich, and Einhorn jointly came up with a plan to harass Filber while the investigation against Netanyahu was underway.

Hun Sen claims terror drone attack plot on Takhmao home

Senate President Hun Sen has revealed that terrorists have been planning a drone attack on his residence in Takhmao city, Cambodia, in recent weeks with the intent to kill him.

He disclosed the terrorist plot publicly during the inauguration of a school building at Wat Preah In Samak Dham in Ang Snuol district, Kandal province, yesterday.

Mr Hun Sen stated that he had learned about the plot in advance through a secret voice message and urged foreigners to be cautious about supporting any terrorist activities.

“There is a plot to attack Takhmao by drones. You want to kill me. This is terrorism, and I ask foreigners to be careful not to support terrorist activities,” he said.

Although he did not identify people behind the plot, his revelation comes amid opposition groups abroad announcing the formation of a government in exile and inciting efforts to overthrow the government.

Mr Hun Sen also called on foreigners not to interfere in Cambodia’s internal affairs as the nation works to manage its national security.

Yang Peou, Secretary-General of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, believes that any attempt to attack Mr Hun Sen’s house in Takhmao city is a direct assault on the security of Cambodia’s leadership.

He noted that Mr Hun Sen is a widely recognised leader both nationally and internationally, and such an attack would severely impact Cambodia’s political stability.

Peou suggested that the plot might be orchestrated by extremist politicians aiming to create internal tensions.

He added, “This is a matter that Cambodia’s security forces must investigate extremists for attempting to incite insecurity.

The military has faced conflicts over security issues, so for Cambodia, Samdech Techo was aware of the drone plot in advance and prevented it, but we must remain vigilant about security.”

Peou also recalled the 1998 assassination attempt on Mr Hun Sen when an assassin fired a B40 rocket at his convoy en route to the Royal Residence in Siem Reap city. Fortunately, the rocket did not explode.

He emphasised that the latest drone attack threat demands heightened security for leaders like Mr Hun Sen, who play a crucial role in ensuring Cambodia’s political stability, peace and development.

Sek Socheat, a consultant on development and research, expressed concern about the potential consequences for Cambodian society should a leader be targeted with a drone attack.

He noted that this issue is not only a matter of national security but also one that requires specialised authorities to investigate and determine the cause of the attack attempt.

“Any attempt to harm another person, whether a leader or an ordinary citizen, violates the rule of law and must be addressed based on evidence,” he said.

Chelsea striker Sam Kerr has been cleared of causing racially aggravated harassment after calling a Metropolitan Police officer "stupid and white".

The Australian international made the comments to PC Stephen Lovell during an incident in south-west London in the early hours of January 30 2023.

Ms Kerr, 31, and her partner, West Ham midfielder Kristie Mewis, had been out drinking when they were driven to Twickenham Police Station by a taxi driver who complained that they had refused to pay clean-up costs after one of them was sick and that one of them had smashed the vehicle's rear window.

At the police station, Ms Kerr became "abusive and insulting" towards PC Lovell, calling him "f** stupid and white".

A jury returned the not guilty verdict on Tuesday after deliberating for around four hours and 17 minutes at Kingston Crown Court since the previous day.

Judge Peter Lodder KC said after the verdict: "I take the view her own behaviour contributed significantly to the bringing of this allegation.

"I don't go behind the jury's verdict but that has a significant bearing on the question of costs."

Ms Kerr showed no emotion during the reading of the verdict but gave a thumbs-up to her barrister Grace Forbes after the judge had left.

She later released a statement which read: "Following today's not guilty verdict, I can finally put this challenging period behind me.

"While I apologise for expressing myself poorly on what was a traumatic evening, I have always maintained that I did not intend to insult or harm anyone and I am thankful that the jury unanimously agreed.

"I would like to thank my partner Kristie, my family, friends and all the fans for their love and support, especially those who attended court each day.

"I am fully focused on getting back on to the pitch and look forward to an exciting year ahead for me and my family."

During the trial, the court heard how Ms Kerr had accepted later calling PC Lovell "stupid and white" during a heated exchange but denied that it amounted to the charge.

She said she regretted the way she expressed herself but added: "I feel the message was still relevant".

She denied using "whiteness as an insult" and claimed: "I believed it was him using his power and privilege over me because he was accusing me of being something I'm not… I was trying to express that due to the power and privilege they had, they would never have to understand what we had just gone through and the fear we were having for our lives."

Asked if she was saying PC Lovell was "stupid because he was white", Ms Kerr said: "No".

Ms Kerr and her partner Ms Mewis told the court how they felt "dismissed" by PC Lovell after explaining how they had been "trapped" in the back of a taxi and "held against our will".

Ms Mewis smashed the taxi's rear window before the pair climbed out of the vehicle, which was parked near Twickenham Police Station.

At the station, Ms Kerr, her partner and PC Lovell got into an exchange, described in court as a "heated argument", and Ms Kerr told police "this is a racial f** thing".

She told the jury: "I believed were treating me differently because of what they perceived to be the colour of my skin - particularly PC Lovell's behaviour.

"The way he was accusing me of lying, and later arresting me for criminal damage even though Kristie said it was just her (who smashed the taxi's window).

"At the time, I thought they were trying to put it on me."

The Crown Prosecution Service originally decided not to charge Ms Kerr, the court heard.

NATS today announced the launch of its whitepaper 'Advancing Aviation through Integration of Drones in the UK’s Low-Level Airspace', highlighting how Project CAELUS demonstrates a successful path towards integrating traditional ATM with drone traffic by leveraging NATS Services’ new Concept of Operations (CONOPs).

The whitepaper outlining key learnings and recommendations from the successful completion of Project CAELUS – part of UKRI's Future Flight Challenge – represents a critical step towards the safe and efficient integration of drones into the existing air traffic management environment.

Central to the project was the creation and validation of a revolutionary new Concept of Operations (CONOPs), which lays the groundwork for routine drone operations in the UK.

It includes the development of 'Master Control Room' interface as a bridge between crewed and uncrewed air traffic operations, something NATS considers essential to achieving a fully integrated airspace.

Through both simulated and live flight trials, NATS was able to demonstrate how technology developed for the Master Control Room could be used to safely integrate uncrewed traffic in controlled and uncontrolled airspace, while minimising disruption to current air traffic operations.

This included the use of intelligent airspace management tools to authorise low-altitude, Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flight plans, providing deconfliction advice and instructions to drone operators and monitoring notifications related to airspace restrictions and specific missions.

All this was achieved while maintaining oversight to ensure safe and efficient operations.

While focused on the delivery of critical medical supplies, the progress made through Project CAELUS helps lay the groundwork for the full commercialisation of drones in the UK across a whole host of other industries, promoting the development of a safe, cost-effective, and thriving low-level airspace economy.

Other key findings highlighted by NATS include the critical need for strong partnerships across the entire aviation ecosystem.

This includes the use of cloud-based technology to support high-fidelity data sharing, allowing all stakeholders to operate in real time with a common understanding of the airspace.
