Taylor Williamson is a health governance specialist for the Global Health Group at RTI International. He has worked in East Africa for four years, having lived in both Tanzania and Rwanda. Mr. Williamson manages RTI’s portfolio of health governance activities, initially for the Health Systems 20/20 Project, and currently for the Health Policy Project (HPP). His work has included governance assessments throughout the Caribbean and West Africa, technical assistance to the National Agency for the Control of AIDS in Nigeria on HIV mainstreaming, training and advice for the Institut Régional de Santé Publique in Benin, and documenting and developing health governance approaches and tools. Mr. Williamson earned a Masters of Public Health from Tulane University and a BA in biology from Colorado College.

Elon Musk's team of mid-20s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) disruptors has once again found wasteful spending—this time focusing on a $59 million payment sent by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to luxury hotels across New York City housing illegal aliens.

 

"The DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants," Musk wrote on X early Monday morning.

 

Musk explained, "Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President's executive order," adding, "That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals!"

 

Musk did not specify which luxury NYC hotels received FEMA funding for migrants last week but noted that a "clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds."

 

Trump needs to shut this Unconstitutional Anti-American and Treasonous agency down for good! Aid should be provided to the States and emergencies should be handled by locals from now on, as they used to be when America was America.

Federal Whistleblower Claims PennsylvaniaGovernor Josh Shapiro Ordered Trump Assassination

 

A federal whistleblower has come forward with allegations that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was involved in the July 13, 2024, assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. The whistleblower, identified as Hadassah Feinberg, a former Pennsylvania State Police employee, filed a criminal complaint on February 7, 2025, detailing claims that Shapiro conspired with other officials to orchestrate the attack as part of a political scheme.

 

According to the complaint, President Joe Biden made frequent visits to Shapiro in the weeks leading up to the Trump rally to discuss what was described as an “obstacle” faced by the Democratic Party. Feinberg alleges that these meetings were directly tied to a plan to eliminate Trump as a political opponent. The complaint further claims that Shapiro “organized, schemed, and conspired” with state officials to carry out the attack, which resulted in Trump being shot and Corey Comperatore losing his life.

 

Feinberg also claims that her attempts to report information to authorities were blocked at multiple levels. She alleges that she contacted the Secret Service on July 13, 2024, to provide a tip but was ignored due to interference from the Biden administration. Further communications with Secret Service Agent John T. Donohue were reportedly dismissed, with Feinberg alleging that the complaint was forwarded to headquarters but later suppressed. She also claims that former FBI Director Christopher Wray was involved in covering up the case and that only after his resignation was she able to pursue legal action.

 

The accusations against Shapiro and Paris have led to legal filings, including a RICO lawsuit in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, where both officials are named in connection with alleged corruption and public fraud. Feinberg states that on February 5, 2025, multiple federal witnesses, including Gregory Stenstrom, Leah Hoopes, and Sean Connolly, provided testimony supporting claims of state and federal crimes committed by Shapiro over the past decade.

 

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger has declined to pursue Feinberg’s private criminal complaint. In a letter dated August 22, 2024, Goldinger acknowledged receipt of the complaint but cited ongoing investigations by various government agencies as the reason for disapproval.

Organization

 

RTI International is a non-profit research organization.[15] It was initially established by three local universities but it is managed by a separate board and management team.[12] RTI's structure consists of members of the corporation, the board of governors and corporate officers. The members of the corporation elect governors, who in turn create the organization's policies.

 

RTI also has a separate business called RTI Health Solutions, which supports biotech, diagnostic and medical device companies.[16] In 2012, the organization's largest service areas were in social, statistical and environmental sciences. More than half of RTI's staff have advanced degrees in one of 120 fields and work on approximately 1,200 projects at a time.[5]

RTI International's research has spanned areas like cancer, pollution, drug abuse and education.[9] It manages the National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP).[17]

 

RTI scientists Monroe Wall and Mansukh C. Wani synthesized the anti-cancer treatments camptothecin in 1966, from the bark of the Camptotheca tree, and Taxol in 1971, from a Pacific yew tree.[18] These two drugs account for $3 billion a year in sales by pharmaceutical companies.[5] In 1986, RTI was awarded a $4 million contract with the National Cancer Institute to conduct an eight-year clinical trial on the effects of an anti-smoking campaign.[19] Two years later, RTI began a $4.4 million program to co-ordinate AIDS drug trials for the National Institutes of Health. This grew to $26 million by 1988.[20]

 

RTI scientists helped to identify toxic chemicals in the Love Canal in the 1970s.[5] In 1978, RTI researched the possibility of improving solar cells for the US Department of Energy[21] and coal gasification for the Environmental Protection Agency in 1979.[22] RTI trained Chinese government employees on using computer models to forecast pollution patterns before the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.[23]

 

An RTI survey in 1973, commissioned by the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, confirmed earlier research that found no connection between drug use and violent crime, despite perceptions of heroin users as more prone to violence.[24] A 1975 study that RTI conducted for the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism found that 28 percent of 13,000 teenagers polled were "problem drinkers", despite their age.[25] A 1996 study by RTI and funded by the Pentagon found that drug abuse in the military had been reduced by 90 percent since 1980.[26]

In 1975, RTI recommended that the Bureau of the Mint halt expensive production of cents and replace half-dollars with a new dollar coin.[27] In 2001, RTI scientists created a new thinfilm superlattice material that uses the thermoelectric effect to cool microprocessors.[28] A 2009 study by RTI and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published in Health Affairs estimated that obesity in the US caused $147 billion in increased medical care costs annually.[29] RTI also developed a reading skill measurement program, the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA), for the USAID and the World Bank. The EGRA has been used in 70 languages and 50 countries.[30]

 

In the 1980s, RTI created and distributed the Architecture Design and Assessment System, a set of software programs that helped model intricate systems. The ADAS programs were produced until the mid-1990s.[31]

 

RTI began working for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) after the conflict between Iraq and the US began in 2003.[5] USAID work represented 35 percent of RTI's revenue by 2010.[32] Under Iraq’s previous, highly centralized regime, citizens had almost no experience with local governance or active participation in the governing process. To inform and train Iraqis in local governance systems, RTI ultimately set up offices in Iraq’s 18 provinces. A staff of 200 people drawn from 33 countries, augmented by the hiring of 800 Iraqis, was deployed.[8]

 

In 2004, Nextreme was spun off from RTI to develop a thermoelectric material for semiconductors commercially.[33] In October 2018, RTI published a study showing that heroin users who used fentanyl testing strips were more likely to adopt safer drug habits

‘It is chaos’: US funding freezes are endangering global health

Abrupt changes to programmes including USAID inhibit global efforts to stop disease such as HIV, malaria and more, say researchers.

Franklin Wanyama’s world was thrown into turmoil last month, when US President Donald Trump abruptly announced a freeze on foreign aid. Wanyama, a 29-year-old in Nairobi who was born HIV-positive, is one of millions of people worldwide whose life-saving treatment is funded by a US foreign aid programme.

The HIV clinic Wanyama visits has managed to continue delivering medications to its patients — although many clinics aren’t, say researchers. But drug supplies are being rationed.

“We patients who are HIV positive, we are really panicked,” says Wanyama, whose two children do not carry the virus. He’s lost his job mentoring other HIV-positive people at a US-funded facility and is worried about continued access to medication. “The way things are going, I feel like I have worked so much for nothing.”

As the Trump administration announces drastic policy changes, nowhere is the shock more palpable than in the field of global health. Scientists, medics and health officials say the outsize US influence on battling disease globally will be difficult to quickly replace.

US actions such as the foreign-aid freeze and its pull-out from the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, will affect billions of dollars in annual funding to battle HIV, malaria and other areas in global health. That will cost lives and threaten global security, say researchers. “It will make the world a less safe place,” says Peter Horby, an infectious-disease researcher at the University of Oxford, UK.

Funding freeze

After the Trump administration announced a three-month freeze on foreign aid last month, effects have rippled through the global-health community. Programmes supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) — where many employees have been furloughed, according to news reports — fund research, prevention and care for diseases such as HIV and malaria, and work on other global health priorities.

“People haven’t had a chance to get alternative funding because of the abrupt nature of this,” says Salim Abdool Karim, director of the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa, in Durban. The centre was due this week to enrol the first patient in a USAID-funded trial of HIV vaccines, which is now on hold. It is using its reserve funds to continue a trial testing whether a vaginal insertion can prevent HIV transmission.

It is chaos,” says an HIV researcher in Africa, who runs a clinic that treats thousands of patients and is supported by a US programme called the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and asked not to be named because of fears of reprisal. More than 20 million people mostly in Africa, including more than a million children and pregnant people, receive antiretroviral drugs through the US$6.5-billion programme.

The clinic has had to suspend staff, which were funded by PEPFAR, and its patients are continuing to receive drugs only because of volunteer efforts. Last night, the clinic received a waiver from the US government that appears to allow them to resume HIV treatment, but uncertainty abounds.

HIV treatments threatened

In South Africa, where the government provides the bulk of HIV care using some PEPFAR funding, the impact of the aid freeze will be minimal, says Abdool Karim. But in many other African countries, “if PEPFAR services stop, the effect will be catastrophic. The governments can’t just step in to meet the shortfall”.

Stopping antiretroviral treatment causes virus levels to rebound, making it possible for a person to transmit HIV — including through pregnancy to unborn children — and facilitating the evolution of drug resistance. “I’m hoping that someone somewhere sees sense and does not continue this abrupt ending of AIDS treatment programmes,” says Abdool Karim.

The President’s Malaria Initiative, a US$1-billion government programme that funds malaria prevention and research, has also seen funding dry up.Taylor Williamson, an employee at a company that helps to implement the malaria programme and other global health projects, says the aid freeze will have catastrophic effects.

His firm has more than one million insecticide-treated bed nets in a warehouse in Ethiopia that, along with antimalarial drugs and diagnostics, it now can’t deploy, and at time when malaria transmission spikes in many countries. “Without those services — especially now that it’s the rainy season in a lot of the world — people will die,” Williamson says. “We’re putting kids’ lives at risk by stopping this.”

 

WHO withdrawal

In Geneva this week, the WHO’s executive board grappled with how to handle the looming US withdrawal from the organization (this week, Argentina announced that it will also seek to leave the agency). Last year, the United States contributed nearly £1 billion to the organization, whose 2-year budget for 2024 and 2025 was $6.8 billion. In response, the agency has implemented cost-cutting measures.

Much of that money is earmarked for specific projects, such as polio eradication, and other governments and organizations will now need to fill gaps, says David Heymann, an epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a former assistant director-general at the WHO. “Somebody’s going to have step in and fill that void if polio eradication is to continue.”

A US pullout from WHO, as well as a communication freeze announced by Trump between officials at the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia, and the agency, will also affect the exchange of vital information and technical expertise, say scientists. The CDC had operated more than a dozen ‘WHO collaborating centres’ and many employees had been seconded to the organization. The WHO also provides a daily threat assessment to member states, and it’s unclear whether the United States continues to receive this, says Heymann.

Horby worries about how a diminished US role in global health will affect preparedness for pandemic threats such as H5N1 influenza and outbreak responses — including to one ongoing Ebola virus outbreak in Uganda, another possible one in the Democratic Republic of Congo and a Marburg virus outbreak in Tanzania. “It’s a big concern that there will be a huge loss of money and expertise on these global health threats,” says Horby.

The Trump administration's freeze of foreign funding has begun impacting an international effort to hold Russia responsible for alleged war crimes in Ukraine, according to eight sources and a Ukrainian document seen by Reuters, halting dozens of jobs and tens of millions of dollars in aid.

 

Ukraine has opened more than 140,000 war crime cases since Moscow's February 2022 invasion, which has killed tens of thousands, ravaged vast swathes of the country and left behind mental and physical scars from occupation. Russia consistently denies war crimes have been committed by its forces in the conflict.

 

U.S.-funded international initiatives such as the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group for Ukraine (ACA) have provided expertise and oversight to Ukrainian authorities. Kyiv has been praised by its Western partners for probing alleged crimes while the war is still raging.

 

At stake are six U.S.-funded projects at the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) valued at $89 million, according to a Ukrainian document on the U.S. funding and cuts seen by Reuters.

 

Funding for at least five of those projects has already been frozen, according to five sources directly involved, who cited interruptions in payments. The affected worked on issues ranging from the preservation of evidence from the battlefield to anti-corruption initiatives and reform of Ukraine's prosecution system.

 

Two of the listed projects were funded by USAID, three by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement and one directly by the Department of State, the document showed.

 

Of that funding, $47 million was directly allocated to war crimes accountability, the document showed.

 

The impacts on war crimes programs described by the sources and the document have not previously been reported. Nearly all of the sources spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue.

Used to use canola oil for most of my life as it's a pretty big cash crop for the farmers in my area, entire fields of yellow are quite nice to look at in the summer times, and then I switched to olive oil after an interaction with an anon here and then actually looked into it. Never going to touch that stuff again. It was the whole GMO rapeseed seeds modified to resist Roundup which has carcinogens that helped the decision be made.

This week, Swedish authorities and university officials erupted in fury after slices of bacon were found on prayer mats and Korans at Linnaeus University.

 

The incident was swiftly labeled an “unacceptable violation against Muslim students,” and a police report was immediately filed. The university president issued a statement condemning the act, declaring that there is “zero tolerance for all forms of discrimination.”

 

But where was this urgency when my friend, Salwan Momika, was brutally executed in a government apartment in Sweden 12 days ago?

 

The Swedish government targeted him, persecuted him, left him without protection, and placed him in the very location where he was executed.

 

They knew he was being hunted. They knew there was a $2 million bounty on his head. They knew Islamic terrorist groups operating abroad and within the country wanted him dead.

 

Yet they did nothing.

 

Instead of protecting him, they tried to destroy him in court, strip him of his rights, and deport him to his Sharia executioners.

 

When he was slaughtered, the Swedish government didn’t launch a massive manhunt, they didn’t hold press conferences denouncing the attack, and they didn’t even dare to say his name.

 

Hours after his murder, Sweden’s government-funded media aired an interview with a woman wearing a Södertälje municipality jacket—justifying his execution.

 

Instead of outrage, she lectured Swedes about "respecting Allah." No sympathy. No condemnation. Just submission.

 

And here we are, TWELVE days later:

 

NO information on who killed him.

NO justice.

NO accountability.

No condemnation from Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, who had no problem smearing Quran burners—yet couldn’t even say Salwan’s name or show an ounce of care.

 

Swedish leaders are wailing over bacon but had nothing to say when an innocent man was slaughtered in their own country for exercising free speech.

 

They didn’t just fail Salwan. They set him up. They let him die. And now they are justifying it.

 

This is the state of Sweden: a country where putting bacon on a prayer mat leads to a police investigation, but an assassination in broad daylight leads to silence.

 

Sweden is enforcing blasphemy laws through bloodshed. They are making an example out of Salwan Momika, sending a clear message:

 

Criticize Islam, and you will be hunted. Criticize Islam, and you will be executed. Criticize Islam, and the government will smear you, persecute you, and then pretend they had nothing to do with it.

 

I do not trust the Swedish government. They want this buried. They want this forgotten.

According to a statement from Colwell Law Group, Kevin Colwell, 53, founder and CEO of the Albany law offices of Colwell Law Group, died in a skiing accident at the Gore Mountain Ski Resort in North Creek, New York.

Although it may look like a popular fluttering nectarivore, what is pictured is actually a beautifully detailed and colorful aurora, complete with rays reminiscent of feathers. This aurora was so bright that it was visible to the unaided eye during blue hour – just after sunset when the sky appears a darkening blue. However, the aurora only looked like a hummingbird through a sensitive camera able to pick up faint glows. As reds typically occurring higher in the Earth's atmosphere than the greens, the real 3D shape of this aurora would likely appear unfamiliar. Auroras are created when an explosion on the Sun causes high energy particles to flow into the Earth's atmosphere and excite atoms and molecules of nitrogen and oxygen. The featured image was captured about two weeks ago above Lyngseidt, Norway.

Newly Minted Ph.D. Studies Phytoplankton with NASA’s FjordPhyto Project

FjordPhyto is a collective effort where travelers on tour expedition vessels in Antarctica help scientists at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Universidad Nacional de La Plata study phytoplankton.

Now project leader Dr. Allison Cusick has a Ph.D.! . Dr. Cusick studies how melting glaciers influence phytoplankton in the coastal regions.

She wrote her doctoral dissertation based on the data collected by FjordPhyto volunteers.

 

“Travelers adventure to the wild maritime climate of Antarctica and help collect samples from one of the most data-limited regions of the world,” said Cusick.

“While on vacation, they can volunteer to join a FjordPhyto science boat experience where they spend an hour collecting water measurements like salinity, temperature, chlorophyll-a, turbidity, as well as physical samples for molecular genetics work, microscopy identification, and carbon biomass estimates.

It’s a full immersion into the ecosystem and the importance of polar research!”

 

Cusick successfully defended her thesis on December 18, 2024, earning a Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Hers is the second Ph.D. based on data from the FjordPhyto project. Martina Mascioni from FjordPhyto team earned her Ph.D. from the National University of La Plata (Argentina) in 2018.

 

The project is a hit with travelers, too.

“It’s incredibly inspiring to be part of a program like this that’s open to non-specialist involvement,” said one volunteer, a retired biology teacher aboard the Viking Octantis ship, who continued to say, “Thank you for letting us be a part of the science and explaining so clearly why it matters to the bigger picture.”

As of Saturday afternoon, the bodies of all 10 victims — whose relatives have already been notified of their deaths — were set to be transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies. The victims, all Alaska residents, were between the ages of 30 and 58.

 

They include utility operations employees and Anchorage residents Rhone Baumgartner, 46, and Kameron Hartvigson, 41, both of whose names were already identified by the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC).

 

Nome resident Chad Antill, 34, was identified as the aircraft's pilot, and the other victims onboard were Liane Ryan, 52, and Andrew Gonzalez, 30, of Wasilla; Donnell Erickson, 58, of Nome; Jadee Moncur, 52, of Eagle River; Ian Hofmann, 45, of Anchorage; and 34-year-old Talaluk Katchatag and 48-year-old Carol Mooers, both of Unalakleet.

 

The Nome Volunteer Fire Department also updated the community on the recovery of remains on its Facebook page on Saturday, noting that victims had been "officially brought home" to Nome. "We thank the Airforce for their main role in the recovery efforts for the sake of our community team," the department added.

Euclid Discovers Einstein Ring in Our Cosmic Backyard

Euclid, an ESA (European Space Agency) mission with NASA contributions, has made a surprising discovery in our cosmic backyard: a phenomenon called an Einstein ring.

An Einstein ring is light from a distant galaxy bending to form a ring that appears aligned with a foreground object.

The name honors Albert Einstein, whose general theory of relativity predicts that light will bend and brighten around objects in space.

 

In this way, particularly massive objects like galaxies and galaxy clusters serve as cosmic magnifying glasses, bringing even more distant objects into view. Scientists call this gravitational lensing.

Euclid Archive Scientist Bruno Altieri noticed a hint of an Einstein ring among images from the spacecraft’s early testing phase in September 2023.

“Even from that first observation, I could see it, but after Euclid made more observations of the area, we could see a perfect Einstein ring,” Altieri said. “For me, with a lifelong interest in gravitational lensing, that was amazing.”

 

The ring appears to encircle the center of a well-studied elliptical galaxy called NGC 6505, which is around 590 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Draco.

That may sound far, but on the scale of the entire universe, NGC 6505 is close by. Thanks to Euclid’s high-resolution instruments, this is the first time that the ring of light surrounding the galaxy has been detected.

 

Light from a much more distant bright galaxy, some 4.42 billion light-years away, creates the ring in the image.

Gravity distorted this light as it traveled toward us. This faraway galaxy hasn’t been observed before and doesn’t yet have a name.

“An Einstein ring is an example of strong gravitational lensing,” explained Conor O’Riordan, of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, Germany, and lead author of the first scientific paper analyzing the ring.

“All strong lenses are special, because they’re so rare, and they’re incredibly useful scientifically. This one is particularly special, because it’s so close to Earth and the alignment makes it very beautiful.”

 

Einstein rings are a rich laboratory for scientists to explore many mysteries of the universe. For example, an invisible form of matter called dark matter contributes to the bending of light into a ring, so this is an indirect way to study dark matter.

Einstein rings are also relevant to the expansion of the universe because the space between us and these galaxies — both in the foreground and the background — is stretching. Scientists can also learn about the background galaxy itself.

 

“I find it very intriguing that this ring was observed within a well-known galaxy, which was first discovered in 1884,” said Valeria Pettorino, ESA Euclid project scientist.

“The galaxy has been known to astronomers for a very long time. And yet this ring was never observed before.

This demonstrates how powerful Euclid is, finding new things even in places we thought we knew well.

This discovery is very encouraging for the future of the Euclid mission and demonstrates its fantastic capabilities.”

 

By exploring how the universe has expanded and formed over its cosmic history, Euclid will reveal more about the role of gravity and the nature of dark energy and dark matter.

Dark energy is the mysterious force that appears to be causing the universe’s expansion. The space telescope will map more than a third of the sky, observing billions of galaxies out to 10 billion light-years.

It is expected to find around 100,000 strong gravitational lenses.

 

“Euclid is going to revolutionize the field with all this data we’ve never had before,” added O’Riordan.

Although finding this Einstein ring is an achievement, Euclid must look for a different, less visually obvious type of gravitational lensing called “weak lensing” to help fulfil its quest of understanding dark energy.

In weak lensing, background galaxies appear only mildly stretched or displaced. To detect this effect, scientists will need to analyze billions of galaxies.

 

Euclid launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, July 1, 2023, and began its detailed survey of the sky Feb. 14, 2024. The mission is gradually creating the most extensive 3D map of the universe yet.

The Einstein ring find so early in its mission indicates Euclid is on course to uncover many more secrets of the universe.

DRIVE ME TO THE MOON Elon Musk to drop ‘extreme’ Nasa space car on Moon for first lunar drivers to brave brutal south pole in daring roadtrip

VISITORS to the Moon could race across the planet's surface in an "extreme" car dropped there by Elon Musk.

That's the vision of a Nasa-backed company that is working on a vehicle for lunar roadtrips of the future.

 

Lunar Outpost, the company behind the space-age motor, says its vehicle will be capable of navigating the Moon's treacherous south pole.

And the company recently signed a contract with Elon Musk's SpaceX to delivery the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) to the Moon's surface.

 

Musk's rocket company agreed to blast the LTV to the Moon on a SpaceX Starship.

And Lunar Outpost says its car will be used to "provide surface mobility to future Nasa Artemis astronauts".

 

Lunar Outpost bagged its contract from Nasa to build a human-friendly Moon rover back in 2022.

It means Lunar Outpost has been tasked with designing and building a rover that could take part in the Artemis missions.

 

Artemis is Nasa's program that's meant to re-establish a human presence on the Moon.

It's picking up where Nasa left off in 1972 with the Apollo 17 mission – the last time humans set foot on the Moon.

 

"Lunar Outpost's LTV is designed to be the backbone of lunar surface operations,"

"By enabling science and exploration, building and maintaining interplanetary infrastructure, and facilitating space resource utilisation."

 

He continued: "We're confident that SpaceX is advancing the most capable launch system ever created.

"And will successfully land our Eagle vehicles on the surface of the Moon."

 

And Justin added: "This contract is instrumental to accelerating Lunar Outpost's mission of enabling a sustainable human presence in space and we look forward to working with SpaceX to make that happen."

Nasa is working with three different companies for building an LTV. They include Intuitive Machines and Venturi Astrolab – as well as Lunar Outpost.

 

The space agency is forking out up to $4.6 billion on the project. And it says that the space car will need to be decent enough to satisfy Nasa's lunar exploration needs right through to 2039.

"We look forward to the development of the Artemis generation lunar exploration vehicle to help us advance what we learn at the Moon," said Vanessa Wyche, director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

 

"This vehicle will greatly increase our astronauts’ ability to explore and conduct science on the lunar surface while also serving as a science platform between crewed missions."

Nasa says that the space car needs to be able to handle the "extreme conditions" of the Moon's South Pole.

 

It's a treacherous part of the Moon where temperatures can range from 54C in the day during sunlight, right down to -203C in shadowy areas.

In fact, some of the craters are permanently shadowed and won't have seen sunlight in billions of years, Nasa says.

 

The vehicle will need to be able to safely operate in these extreme temperatures – and comfortably travel across the rocky terrain.

Nasa has also asked that the rovers feature autonomous driving so that it can move around without human input.

 

And when the rover isn't on the clock for Nasa, it'll be free for use for other commercial jobs – like if Lunar Outpost gets any special space contracts.

“We will use the LTV to travel to locations we might not otherwise be able to reach on foot," said Nasa's Jacob Bleacher, chief exploration scientist.

"Increasing our ability to explore and make new scientific discoveries.

 

"With the Artemis crewed missions, and during remote operations when there is not a crew on the surface, we are enabling science and discovery on the Moon year around."

Nasa's Artemis program kicked off with Artemis 1 in November 2022.

This was an uncrewed Moon-orbiting mission to test the Orion spacecraft, as well as Nasa's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.

 

It's set to be followed in April 2026 with Artemis II, a crewed flyby of the Moon.

Then Artemis III is scheduled for the middle of 2027, which will be the first crewed landing on the Moon since the early seventies.

 

After that comes Artemis IV in September 2028, which will see an habitation module added to the upcoming Lunar Gateway orbital outpost.

It's a space station that will circle the Moon, making it easier to travel to and from the lunar surface.

There are at least 10 planned Artemis missions right now, taking Nasa through until 2035.

NASA images reveal full extent of toxic golden river devastating region

It's actually shocking what can be seen from space, like a military base being built in the Middle East and an iceberg aboout to collide with an island.

In 2022, scientists identified a potentially toxic "golden river" of waste, visible from space, following a deadly disaster at a diamond mine that caused chemicals to seep through the South African countryside.

 

The eerie satellite image revealed a glistening trail of dried, chemically-enriched mud left in the wake of a wastewater flood that devastated the town of Jagersfontein, resulting in three fatalities and approximately 40 injuries, reports the Daily Star.

NASA's Earth Observatory disclosed that the tailings swept through the outskirts of the town and into the surrounding countryside, causing extensive damage including the destruction of dozens of houses, damage to cell phone towers, road closures, temporary contamination of drinking water, and the loss of hundreds of sheep.

 

A dam at a diamond mine in the central South African town unexpectedly collapsed, unleashing a torrent of mining waste, known as tailings.

At that point, the tailings cascaded down the hillside in a massive, one-mile wide wave that eventually funneled into the nearby Wolwas Dam before overflowing into the adjoining Prosesspruit river.

 

An aerial image captured the day prior to the disaster illustrates the magnitude of the unleashed torrent.

In total, the dried tailings blanketed roughly ten square miles of farmland, and the Earth Observatory suggested that parts of the Prosesspruit river appear to have widened, indicating that the waste may have eroded the river's banks.

 

Tailings, a muddy mix of dust, crushed rock, water and other byproducts left over from mining, often contain trace quantities of metals including copper, mercury, cadmium and zinc, as well as other compounds like petroleum, sulphuric acid and cyanide.

This mixture gives it a golden appearance when viewed from above.

 

The Jagersfontein diamond mine, once the deepest hand-excavated hole in the world, produced two of the world's eight largest diamonds the Excelsior Diamond and the Reitz Diamond, also known as the Golden Jubilee Diamond.

However, the mine has been closed since it was damaged by flooding, and it remains uncertain when, or even if, it will reopen

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis announced his resignation on Monday following mounting pressure from populist opposition groups, two months after a top court annulled a presidential election in the European Union country.

 

“To spare Romania from this crisis, I am resigning as president of Romania,” he said in an emotional address on Monday, adding that he will leave office on Feb. 12.

Trump did NOT actually create a new agency. Instead what he did was repurpose an existing agency - the USDS - into something more useful.

 

The USDS was an Obamacare office created to make government software better. This group was essentially software development for the bureaucracy. Trump renamed the United States Digital Service (USDS) the United States DOGE Service which even kept the acronym the same. Not only did repurposing an appropriate existing department allow Trump to ensure there was funding for DOGE without having to fight with Congress - it also ensured its legality.

Russia’s plasma engine could reach Mars in 30 days, drastically reduce space travel time

Rosatom scientists have announced the development of a plasma electric rocket engine that they claim could send spacecraft to Mars in just one to two months.

As reported by Russia’s Izvestia newspaper, unlike traditional rocket engines that rely on fuel combustion, this innovative propulsion system utilizes a magnetic plasma accelerator and promises to reduce interplanetary travel time significantly.

 

“A plasma rocket motor is a type of electric motor. It is based on two electrodes. Charged particles are passed between them, and at the same time a high voltage is applied to the electrodes,” Egor Biriulin, a junior researcher at Rosatom’s scientific institute in Troitsk, told Izvestia.

“As a result, the current creates a magnetic field that pushes the particles out of the engine. Thus, the plasma receives directional motion and creates thrust.”

 

Plasma propulsion offers unprecedented speeds

Under this approach, hydrogen is used as fuel, and the engine accelerates charged particles – electrons and protons – to a speed of 100 km/s (62 miles/s).

 

“In traditional power units, the maximum velocity of matter flow is about 4.5 km/s, which is due to the conditions of fuel combustion.

In contrast, in our engine, the working body is charged particles that are accelerated by an electromagnetic field,” said Alexei Voronov, first deputy general director for science at the Troitsk Institute, as reported by Izvestia.

 

A faster journey to Mars would not only increase efficiency but also minimize the risks associated with prolonged exposure to cosmic radiation for astronauts.

A laboratory prototype of the engine has already been developed at Rosatom’s Troitsk Institute.

 

This prototype will be subjected to extensive ground testing to refine its operational modes and pave the way for the creation of a flight model, expected to be ready by 2030.

“The engine operates in pulse-periodic mode. Its power is about 300 kW. Earlier, the engine resource of more than 2400 h was justified, which is enough for a transportation operation to Mars,” Konstantin Gutorov, the project’s scientific adviser, told the Russian newspaper.

 

Testing of plasma engine

A specialized experimental stand has been built to simulate the conditions of space, reported World Nuclear News.

This 4-meter diameter, 14-meter long chamber is equipped with advanced sensors, vacuum pumping systems, and heat removal mechanisms.

While the initial launch into orbit will rely on traditional chemical rockets, the plasma engine will be activated once the spacecraft reaches its designated orbit.

This technology could also be incorporated into space tugs used for transporting cargo between planets.

 

The engine’s design involves two electrodes with a high voltage applied across them. As charged particles pass between the electrodes, a magnetic field is created, propelling the particles out of the engine and generating thrust.

“Another positive feature of the new installation – in the proposed mechanism, the plasma does not need to be strongly heated.

As a result, parts and components of the engine do not experience temperature overloads, and the electrical energy used for its operation is almost completely converted into motion,” concluded Biriulin.

 

With a calculated thrust of approximately 6N, the highest among comparable projects, the engine is expected to enable smooth acceleration and deceleration phases during interplanetary travel.

While these developments are promising, it’s important to note that peer-reviewed scientific papers or detailed technical documentation are yet to be published to verify these claims independently.

 

Future of space propulsion

The arena of space propulsion technology has been witnessing several advances.

Recently, an Italy-based research team revealed that they are working on developing a space propulsion system that will use water as fuel.

 

Scientists are also testing the concept of lightsails that use the pressure from lasers or starlight to propel spacecraft.

However, it must be noted that these technologies are still in their nascent stages, and it may take years before they can be used in real-world missions.

I’ve counted 24,363 nonprofits with "college," "university," or "school" in their name. These institutions collectively report $53.7 billion annually in government grants.

 

As of Q2 2020 (before the CARES Act obscured the numbers), the federal student loan portfolio was $1.54 trillion, with $128.3 billion in default—and that number had been growing by several billions every year.

 

As payments are enforced again, the amount in default will likely jump significantly.

The ruling from U.S. District Judge Joseph N. Laplante in New Hampshire comes after two similar rulings by judges in Seattle and Maryland last week.

 

A lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union contends that Trump's order violates the Constitution and "attempts to upend one of the most fundamental American constitutional values."

 

Trump's administration has asserted that children of noncitizens are not "subject to the jurisdiction" of the U.S. and therefore are not entitled to citizenship.

 

The administration is appealing the Seattle judge's block on Trump's executive order.

 

At the heart of the lawsuits in the three cases is the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, ratified in 1868 after the Civil War and the Dred Scott Supreme Court decision, which held that Scott, an enslaved man, wasn't a citizen despite having lived in a state where slavery was outlawed.

 

In 1898, in a case known as United States v. Wong Kim Ark, the Supreme Court found the only children who did not automatically receive U.S. citizenship upon being born on American soil were children of diplomats, who have allegiance to another government; enemies present in the U.S. during hostile occupation; those born on foreign ships; and those born to members of sovereign Native American tribes.

 

The U.S. is among about 30 countries where birthright citizenship — the principle of jus soli, or "right of the soil" — is applied. Most are in the Americas, and Canada and Mexico are among them.

Absolutely. Universities are among the largest drains on taxpayer money in my dataset. They receive massive funding from NGOs and USAID, and they take more government grants on top of that.

 

Meanwhile, anonymous professors have reported to me that true scientific research is stagnating due to DEI mandates and administrative bloat.

 

On top of that, countless young people are left burdened with debt.

 

At the very least, we should start offsetting student loan defaults with the grants these institutions receive.

doesn’t always tickle the ear and warm the ego of its listeners. The light of truth in this book will be

I am not a conspiracy theorist. I deal with real facts, not theory. Some of the people I write about, I

have met. Some of the people I expose are alive and very dangerous. The darkness has never liked the

light. Yet, many of the secrets of the Illuminati are locked up tightly simply because secrecy is a way

of life. It is such a way of life, that they resent the Carroll Quigleys and the James H. Billingtons who

Could have gone down a road, Kevin McCarthy's road…but didn't…Lots of things led me here. Let me make my intentions clear, I chose good over evil. Evil is a world where lies are made to cover up the truth, and that's a lot of work. Good doesn't have to lie, good intentions are known by all, the truth is a beacon of light we all want to live under. It's much easier being Good than Evil, so for you lazy Anons (it's a joke) thank you for taking the path of least resistance.

 

Here I am, still hanging with my crew. Our ship is battle ready and watertight. We are wearing the armor of God. Plus, it seems I'm not good at staying dead.
