Trump Admin Fires Hundreds of FAA Employees Amid Reports DEI Policies Led to DCA Crash

The Trump Administration fired approximately 300 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employees over the weekend as DOGE works to eliminate DEI and wasteful spending.

Last week it was reported that the Trump Admin was gearing up to fire probationary workers.

Hundreds of FAA employees received an email informing them of their termination.

David Spero, the national president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists (PASS), AFL-CIO, blasted the Trump Administration for firing FAA employees.

“We are troubled and disappointed by the administration’s decision to fire FAA probationary employees PASS represents without cause nor based on performance or conduct. Several hundred employees have been impacted with messages being sent from an ‘exec order’ Microsoft email address, not an official .gov email address. Messages began arriving after 7 pm ET on February 14 and continued late into the night. It is possible that others will be notified over the weekend or literally barred from entering FAA buildings on Tuesday, February 18,” David Spero said.

“This decision did not consider the staffing needs of the FAA, which is already challenged by understaffing,” David Spero said in a statement. “Staffing decisions should be based on an individual agency’s mission-critical needs. To do otherwise is dangerous when it comes to public safety. And it is especially unconscionable in the aftermath of three deadly aircraft accidents in the past month.”

US special forces landing in Mexico to train marine infantry

A Mexican Senate commission has approved the entry of members of the U.S. Army’s 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) into the country starting this week.

The Americans will come fully armed as part of a mission to train the Mexican Navy’s Infantería de Marina (marine infantry) on conventional and non-conventional types of combat.

The training takes place from Feb. 17 through March 30 at the Luis Carpizo naval facility in the state of Campeche, according to Sen. Alejandro Moreno Cardenas, president of the Mexican Senate’s Naval Ministry Commission.

The Americans are landing in a C-130 airplane in Campeche two days prior to the start of the training, Moreno said.

The commission unanimously approved the mission without discussion or dissent on Tuesday. The vote came at the request of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the senator said.

The 7th Special Forces Group, whose motto is De Opresso Liber! (Free the oppressed!), has participated in peacekeeping operations in Panama, Peru and Ecuador, and has been deployed to Afghanistan. Also known as Green Berets, they participated in operation Just Cause, which resulted in the January 1990 capture of Panamanian dictator Gen. Manuel Noriega, wanted in the U.S. on drug charges.

US Army Green Berets training Naval Infantry Marines in Mexico

A small group of U.S. Army Green Berets is in Mexico to train the country’s Naval Infantry Marines. Their presence was requested by Mexico’s president and approved by a Senate commission.

Elon Musk was expected to remain offline Sunday night into Monday morning as his xAI team prepared for the highly anticipated debut of "Grok 3," scheduled for release Monday evening at 8 p.m. EST. However, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), tasked with streamlining the federal bureaucracy, returned very excited to his social media platform around midnight, unveiling what "might be the biggest fraud in history."

Musk posted a spreadsheet of Social Security Administration data showing "numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!"

The data shows that 20.789 million Americans are collecting social security benefits over the age of 100. Drilling down into the age buckets, benefits are still being paid out to folks over 140!

"Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security," Musk emphasized.

One X user pointed out that 2023 data showed the US population at around 334.9 million. However, Musk's data (likely from DOGE's 'Big Balls' analyst) shows 394 million names in the Social Security Administration database.

Musk responded: "Yes, there are FAR more "eligible" social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history."

"Maybe we pause payments to everyone 120+ until they can authenticate they're among the living, to start," Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) wrote on X in response to Musk's post.

Collins is far too conservative. Lawmakers should freeze payments over the age bucket of 100 until a clear determination can be made where taxpayer funds are disappearing in this possible money pit that smells like fraud.

"If DOGE's numbers are right, $522B—1/3 of ALL spending on Social Security each year—is fraudulent," X user Robert Sterling said.
