How to combat this type of activity?
Everybody does (or tries to do) exactly what is described in this article. Any group that wants to promote its content, or any group that is fighting against the current narrative is going to try to organize and find ways to systematically disseminate and draw in supporters/recruits. It's all very manipulative - and simply a part of modern warfare unfortunately. Or maybe it's always been a part of warfare, but now it's on this huge automated scale.
Anything that is done to suppress the ability to organize and move information can be terribly misused. How to protect our freedom while keeping our freedom??
As one tiny part of creating a safe/secure and bot free environment for citizens to discuss politics, what if we had a government created platform called ONE VOICE, where every validated/verified citizen is given ONE account that is based on their Voter ID card #? The person could choose to keep their name anonymous on the account once it is established, but it would be tied internally to their real id. Host regular debates on the platform and post all proposed bills. This would be for citizens of each country only.
HA, that's what insurance does, denies claims.
It makes me sick that this is the kind of rhetoric that our friends and family members are ingesting daily - it's no wonder they are scared and angry. I just don't know how to get them to turn it off.
