Anon agrees on make good choices. The disconnect occurs when most people see that "choices" made by bad actors in certain professions (sorry, 'services') do not, in fact appear to "have consequences".
Nature also doesn't protect predators inherently.

Cops aren't going to magically change and somehow undo all the corrupt and immoral practices they've undergone.
Make all future cops go through army boot camp then attend AIT for MP. Allow them to enforce laws under the same set of standards that apply to MP's, in that they will have no immunity and can be jailed for their actions.
That's the only way anon sees salvaging "the brand". Clear, concise, easily actioned consequences should they ever step out of line.
Logically, one would use the enemy's resources against them, thinning the ranks through tough and dangerous enforcement actions, then utterly remove and destroy their positions afterwards.
The scum will always prioritize them paychecks, bennies, and special treatment over, well, anything else.
