Am keeping an eye on the NY Daily News story, wondering how it plays out in Sinclair Broadcasting's attempted purchase of Tribune (was "Tronc", but as of recently announced return to previous Tribune brand name)

Am personally not keen on FCC Chairman Ajit Pai after he stonewalled the acquisition of Tribune/Tronc by Sinclair, citing "misrepresentation or lack of candor". What rubbish. Sinclair is well funded and attempting to evolve into a major media outlet that will probably combat the "fake news" pablum we've all been subjected to, and this pushback from Ajit Pai does not cut it.
