Thyssen welcomed the suppression of the Communist Party, the Social Democrats and the trade unions. In 1934 he was one of the business leaders who persuaded Hitler to suppress the SA, leading to the "Night of the Long Knives". Thyssen accepted the exclusion of Jews from German business and professional life by the Nazis, and dismissed his own Jewish employees. But as a Catholic, he objected to the increasing repression of the Roman Catholic Church, which gathered pace after 1935: in 1937 he sent a letter to Hitler, protesting the persecution of Christians in Germany.[5] The breaking point for Thyssen was the violent pogrom against the Jews in November 1938, known as Kristallnacht, which caused him to resign from the Council of State. By 1939 he was also bitterly criticising the regime's economic policies, which were subordinating everything to rearmament in preparation for war.[6]

World War II

On 1 September 1939, the invasion of Poland marked the commencement of World War II. Thyssen sent Hermann Göring a telegram saying he was opposed to the war[citation needed], shortly before leaving for Switzerland with his family. He was expelled from the Nazi Party and the Reichstag, and his company was nationalised. The company was returned to other members of the Thyssen family some years after the war.

In 1940 Thyssen took refuge and moved to France, intending to emigrate to Argentina, but was caught up in the German invasion of France and the Low Countries while he was visiting his ill mother in Belgium. He was arrested by Vichy France and sent back to Germany, where he was confined, first in a sanatorium near Berlin, then from 1943 in Sachsenhausen concentration camp. His wife Amelie did not escape to Argentina and spent the whole war in the concentration camp with her husband.

In February 1945 Thyssen was sent to Dachau concentration camp. He was comparatively well-treated and transferred to Tyrol in late-April 1945 together with other prominent inmates, where the SS left the prisoners behind. He was liberated by the 42nd Infantry Division & 45th Infantry Division on 5 May 1945.[7]

The President of the United States approved Mark A. Bradley's appointment as Director of ISOO in November 2016. Before coming to ISOO, Mr. Bradley served from 2010–2016 as the Director of FOIA, Declassification, and Prepublication Review at the U.S. Department of Justice's National Security Division. While at the DOJ, he also served as an attorney-adviser, Deputy Counsel for Intelligence Policy, and Acting Chief of Intelligence Oversight. He has been a member of the federal government's Senior Executive Service since 2003.

Mr. Bradley also served as a CIA intelligence officer and as Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan's legislative assistant for foreign affairs and intelligence matters and as his last legislative director. He co-drafted the legislation that established the Public Interest Declassification Board. Mr. Bradley, who is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, also practiced as a criminal defense lawyer in the District of Columbia, defending indigents accused of serious crimes.

In 2015, the Society for History in the Federal Government awarded "A Very Principled Boy" his biography of Soviet spy Duncan Lee, its George Pendleton Prize for being the best book written by a Federal historian in 2014.

He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Washington & Lee University and holds an M.A. in Modern History from Oxford, which he attended as a Rhodes scholar, and a law degree from the University of Virginia.

That's a fast reaction to Q being back. They are scared and desperate.

Many of us that understood the Sessions appointment of Huber to prosecute what Horowitz uncovered during his investigation were seriously disappointed with the IG report's summary and conclusion.

It took a while for us to understand that the subjective portions of the report were watered down intentionally in order to eliminate any impression of political collusion between Trump/Horowitz/Wray/Sessions.

In the weeks that followed the publishing of the report it became clear that the meat was in the report and that the plan was to let Congress pick it apart, which is happening.

I think at this point everyone should understand what Huber's role is and why it's significant - he reports directly to sessions, Hussein appointee, not in Washington. What has been harder to deal with was the disappointment that things didn't progress immediately after the IG report was published.

The delay must be for political reasons and also for prosecutorial reasons. Huber has to do his job in stealth mode due to the nature of Grand Jury's.

This also maps to why we haven't heard more in regards to Weiner's laptop and the NYPD and FBI FO investigation of Weiner. We did hear about the delay in looking at his laptop by the midyear team during Strzok's testimony. So, Congress knows its an issue, but when is the HAMMER GOING TO DROP?

I trust the process and am fine waiting, but I don't think we need to keep explaining the Huber role.

I'm trusting that these investigations are ongoing and that we will soon have indictments revealed.

Let me tell you something. I'm an old Navy vet. I was in during most of the 1970s/80s. When my son went in the Marine Corps over ten years ago I was proud of his decision.
